Well, obviously, I'm an Ohio State fan, but my Dad graduated from Pitt back in the 1950's and I did pick Pitt to go the Final Four!

BTW, I'm taking my son to Disney's Wide World of Sports tomorrow for the Braves vs. Indians game. His 10th birthday is today. So I expect around 1:05 tomorrow afternoon we'll have some kind of unnatural rain/wind/hail storm just because we're there.

kphwus, that's so cool about your son!

I am in the Detroit area and now my beloved Pitt Panthers are now facing Michigan State. I will never hear the end of it at work if MSU wins. Hail to Pitt.

My son had a try out on Tues at Indiana Univ of PA. He is a center and long snapper. Long story short...after a 5 hr drive, his workout(including his warmup)lasted all of 6 minutes. After just 6 snaps the coach threw his hand up and said "That's all, I don't need to see anymore".:thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 Looks like he'll be living in Pitt country for the next 4 years.:cool1:

Nice...I won't tell you what a great party school it used to be...

Welcome home!

Count me into this club:cool1: I meet a lot of the qualifications.
Chill, We messaged each other a couple of weeks ago, I am the Dad with the desert clause. Where in the Detroit area R U? I was born and lived there for 23 years, before moving to Florida.
Just booked our lunch at Princess Storybook @ Akershus in Norway at EPCOT. Can't wait to get back to our home away from home, WDW:banana:

Hey Buzz I am in Royal Oak but I wish I was in Florida.

Ok Dads I have a serious question.

Which is worse having your favorite team lose a championship game or returning to work after time at Disney?

I am a South Carolina fan, so...I really don't have anything to compare the post-Disney disorder to.

Didn't the gamecocks win a national championship back in 1985?

How about the rest of you?

the eastern USC wins the odd track and field, or equestrian championship, but nothing in terms of a "major" sport.

btw, I'd vote for returning to work being the worst feeling. It's a genuine withdrawl for me. I usually spend that first day thinking of ways to retire early so I can be on vacation all the time.

If I could throw my two cents in here with that question. As a football coach, albeit high school, I've lost a Championship game that hurt worst than coming home from Disney but I was personally involved. Now that being said I live in New England and after that debacle back on February 3rd, I can say going back to work with the non-believers after coming back from Disney was worst. Now if you want to talk about the '86 Red Sox I just don't know! As for College hoops which seem to be the main sport in this thread, well, BC couldn't even get into the NIC so it's not a problem!

For me it has to be the championship game or I'll go a step further and say almost any big game is pretty tough. I've had my share and have even sworn to not going to any more "big games" because I hate the disappointment. Saw Pitt lose to Kent St in Rupp Arena, lose to Bradley in Detroit, even traveled to the Fiesta Bowl when the football team got smoked by Utah. And for you Pittsburgh fans do I need to mention Sid Bream...

IF I had a 9-5 type job it would be a tough call. Since I don't...I HATE LOSING!

For Me it's Post Disney all the Way. I guess We are just use to losing more then Winning here in B-More . Now I'm a hugh Indoor Soccer fan and we do very good with that,But it still really doesn't effect me at all when they lose. And can't stand to see JR not doing good in Nascar(well not bad so far this year).

Now DD's Teams I do get a bit off when they play really good but still lose and I'm sure now that I'm back Playing Paintball I will take a defeat a bit to heart.

But in the End I'm really not benifiting either way with the Pros so I guess thast why not that big of a deal But leaving my Escape place is just god awful.

Holidayroad I'm heading up that way in a few weeks (Andover) should I wear my O's , Yankees or Giants stuff around town as the Socks will just being going full swing.

For me I think it is worse to go back to work after Disney for the following reason. I love what I do and if my Pistons, steelers, tigers, Pirates, Panthers, Penguins, or Red Wings, blow a big game the next day (or week) I don't listen to sports radio, I don't go to espn.com, I don't watch Espn I just bury my sorrows in my work. But as much as I love what I do, I like to go to Disney more. I can't bury my sadness to have left Disney in work. I find myself looking at pictures, going online to Disney sites, and talking about it with my wife. I can't block it out the way I block out a big loss.

Well, just got back in from Disney's Wide World of Sports. The weather was actually perfect, we had great seats on the 3rd base side and I played catch with my son after the game. All in all a great day. Indians won 6-4.

I feel uniquely qualified to comment on losing the championship game thing, being an Ohio State fan and all.:sad2: I think it is worse to lose a championship game, because I can control when I go back to Disney....I can't control when my favorite team will make another championship game.

But I guess it's all a matter of perspective. If I were a fan of the Yankees or a team that wins all the time, it probably wouldn't be crushing to lose a title game/series. But if I were a Cubs fan and they finally made it to the World Series only to lose, that would hurt more.

Now to get ready for our 3/29 cruise!pirate: :sail:

I think you may be right about the frequency of your teams winning championships. My teams Pistons, Steelers, Tigers, Pirates, Panthers, Penguins, and Red Wings have all brought home their share of championships in my lifetime. I have been privileged to live in 2 Great sports cities.

By the way Buckeye congrats on your latest recruit the Michigan fans here are bitter. I love it!!!

I think getting over returning home from a Disney trip is the hardest for me.

I'm from the Phila area, so we haven't had many championship games for quite a while.

Holidayroad, I have the same feeling as you. I am a HS football coach too, up in NH, losing in the state championship was awful, because you are actually part of it. When you are watching the Pats or Sox it is bad, but it's not first hand, no matter how much we NE'ers think we are part of those teams. So for me watching a favorite team lose would fall second to leaving WDW for any reason, whether to return to work, or just to return home.

N.H. Well, I got a friend that coaches up there he Coaches at Londonderry High School. Are you Familiar with their program. Don't want to turn this this into a football thread but you know how we coaches are!

Happy Easter everyone!!!!!!!

After last night (not really a championship game) I would like to say leaving Disney is much, much worse!!!!!!

Has anyone been in Disney during Easter? Do they put bunny ears on Mickey?
