:thumbsup2Well, it looks like I have gotten myself into a situation!! Went to cardiologist today because of the persistant chest pressure. He said he wanted to do a heart chat...I was like ok...and pulled out my work schedule to see when I could fit it in :rotfl2:..He then looked at me and said....I am going to do it tomorrow ....So I am headed to work this evening and on call until 7am and then I am going to get things fixed and checked...so cross your fingers and say a prayer!!

Do you need a note from a dr to miss work? ;). Hope all goes well.

This has been quite the beverly morning. Excuse me while I break some of this news... Got a call late last night that my paternal grandmother passed away. She was just over 90, so it's not entirely unexpected... but still surprising to hear how quickly she faded. Just found out there will be no services, but still may need to make a trip to Ohio.

Then... I get to work and start telling my supervisor the news so she is in the loop. She looked like she was already on the verge of tears... so I ask what was wrong. Last night one of the girls on the soccer team, an eight year old friend of her family, was struck by a car when crossing the street to get to the field. She was airlifted with a skull fracture and is currently in ICU in stable, serious condition. She's in a medically induced coma for now. Please pray for her.

It's one of those days that reminds me life is fragile. Hug those close to you and remember that we only have so many marbles left.

Thinking of you this morning, Christopher!

Don, sorry to hear about both. I take my family for granted, regardless of the number on the age spectrum.

Top of the mornin' gents!

Here's one for Trennr

HaHaHaHaHaHaHaHa

Maybe pictures of the hot blondes this corn maze was designed for.

Andy, sorry to hear about the little one. I hated it when mine got sick and there was little to do except ride it out.
I read well wishes from everyone from yesterday and I appreciate them all. I just haven't had much time to go back and multi quote. Yesterday was not exactly fun. We didn't even get to watch Lion King. He wasn't a happy camper and wouldn't let me turn the TV onto anything except Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. Now, I'm honestly one of Mickey's biggest fans or I wouldn't be here, but after about 15 or 20 times of watching it over and over on DVR, it kind of puts you on the verge of doing something you may live to regret. :rolleyes1

Landon got over his fever yesterday and was able to go to the sitter this morning. He's still struggling with being able to eat and drink though. The kid wants to eat, but he isn't old enough to understand that you have to take smaller bites and chew food up before you swallow when you have a sore throat. The worst part was watching him try to swallow then start screaming with a mouth full of food.:headache: I did finally get him to trust me and try to eat some smushed up ice cream that was about the consistency of a milk shake yesterday afternoon. (Calories are calories when you're sick :confused3 ). We're just hopeful that DW and I don't catch it now. She called her OB yesterday to see if she needs to do anything proactively since she was exposed to strep, but they never got around to calling her back. I don't know if she's spoken with anyone today or not.

I get to go work on the farm this evening when I get off work. My dad has been having some issues with carpel tunnel (had surgery on one hand a few years ago, needs it on both sometime in the near future) as well as what is likely arthritis and some back pain. He hasn't been sleeping, can't lift his arms over his head, and he determined today that he can hardly even work the gearshift on the semis. I hate the fact that I'm not around to work on the farm full time. I love getting a paycheck every week for my day job, but I really wish I was around to do more on the farm. I get phone calls just about every day asking me how to fix/do something with the combine's GPS and computer and then a long list of things to do in the evening because my Dad and uncle can't do them.

Don - horrible stories about your grandmother and this little girl.

My condolences for grandma, and I will definitely be praying for this innocent child.

Lion King on Blu Ray - :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 < that's 2 thumps up.

Picture and sound was crystal clear.

Was a little surprised to see there was no option on the Blu Ray to run the full feature with "The Morning Report", although it was included as a bonus feature.

First of all, it means I've spent WAY to much time around here. :rotfl2:

But why?

It started January 2009 when I booked my families vacation to WDW. It was the first time I would take my kids to see the most magical place on earth, a place that I would daydream about day in and day out after my first vacation, and the promise of experiencing it again through the eyes of a my children.
At that time, I knew that there was a lot of catching up to do, to ensure they would have a vacation they would never forget. So I went to my most trusted source of all information - GOOGLE. I asked my question, and was linked to a website that seemed to have my answer. I asked my ext question, and again got linked to a website that seemed to have the answer. Then I realized every question about Disney I had GOOGLE linked me to the DISBOARDS! Then I though, why I am asking GOOGLE, when GOOGLE simply asks the DISBOARDS, so I cut out the middle man, and linked directly here.

I couldn't believe the wealth of knowledge and experience I found from people such as Robo, Bradk, CheshireFigment, and others on the Theme Park boards. I knew I found a friendly place of other nuts like me!

I continued to check in every day, reading up on park strategies, why Rope Drop is so important, secret paths, hidden mickeys, and that fast passes can be used after the posted return time (who knew, right). I quickly began to really become obsessed with all things Disney. But it's not just the theme parks, not the movies, not the family entertainment; but it is the First Rate, top notch, A+ service that Disney provides. The incredible business plan to keep everything Disney the piece de resistance of all things Entertainment.

So I asked my questions, got my answers... and then found myself answering more of questions then I was asking. Was I becoming one of these experts (self proclaimed maybe).

So why was I still there? I had learned everything I needed to, but still found myself checking in on a daily basis. Was it because I needed to know what was going on at DIsney every waking hour? Which celebrity was there today? Why was there a backup of buses at the TTC, and for godsakes why are they refurb'ing that attraction when they know the crowds will be 7's accoringing to touringplans.com?

To answer the above question - yes, it was partially that.

But the real reason I keep coming back, is because during my searching around all of these forums, I found a group of guys that call them self DISdad's. They had a thread in the Family board. The first post had a huge list of criteria that will help you identify if you indeed are a DISdad.
As I sat there with a pencil and paper checking off reasons I may be a DISdad, I then realized I am not alone. So what if all my ties have Mickey on them. So what if the only CD's in my car are Disney music. So what if all life lessons I've learned can be traced back to Alladin, Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, or Lion King. I finally found a bunch of grown men who aren't affraid to admit they have a thing for Jasmine.

With such a huge presence (and a little help from Stopher's mad tears of speed posting to close threads), our presence was recognized and we got out own forum.

The DISDad's has been more then a group of Disney loving fathers. It has been a place where we can all get together and talk openly about problems in our lives, celebrations we want to share, and even tell a fart joke once in a while. The DISDad's is not a group of strangers on the internet, but a group of men from all corners of the globe who all share the love of Disney and Family, a group I am proud to call my Friends.

So I couldn't think of a better place to post my number 5000.

Thanks guys.

First of all, it means I've spent WAY to much time around here. :rotfl2:

This was an awesome 5000th post! :thumbsup2 Congrats! And I'm not sure how many years it's going to take me to get there! :lmao: Maybe if I actually finish my TR I could gain a few hundred more! :rotfl2:

On a serious note... I still have not heard anything more about Megan. Hopefully no news is good news.

Also... I'm pretty exhausted from converting Zerphonics to regular English! :lmao: Thanks for you updates, Dave! :thumbsup2

:thumbsup2 how was diner in canada tonight??? :lmao:

Dinner in Canada tonight was Cesar Salad, McCain's Frozen French Fries, and Store bought Chicken Nugget's.

I honestly don't see what the buzz 'round here is... :rotfl2:

I've lived here 40 years, and can honestly say I've never had (or have seen) a mushroom risotto filet or cheddar cheese soup! ;)
