OK guys....need your opinions on Tony's Town Square.

I'm reading mixed reviews online but would trust your opinions a little more.

I stress little!

Put me in the HATE category. No make it the HATE, HATE, HATE category. This is a total waste of a restaurant in a fantastic space. DD ordered a flat bread which was good. I had the baked ziti and the chef should be hung up by his thumbs. It was elbow macaroni (it is called baked ZITI) with a terrible red sauce and a sprinkling of cheese on it. What cheese, I don't know. And it was not baked. Admittedly, it was a few years ago and they may have shot the chef and replaced him.

OK, this is from someone that is an Italian food snob. My grandparents came from the old country and I know what good Italian food tastes like. As I type this, I have a pot of sauce with meatballs and sausage cooking (wish you could smell the aroma from the kitchen). But, I know not every place can make food like my grandmother and aunts could (or even me). I have enjoyed meals at chains like Macaroni Grill, Olive Garden and even Mama Melrose. But this place gives Italian food a bad name.

It is such a shame because good Italian food is not rocket science and it is in a fantastic location. When we dined there, we sat outside and watched the parade go by. Great seats. Too bad they serve garbage as food.

Let me know if you want me to really tell what I think of this place.

Vent over. I tried one of the meatballs and all is good. Picking up a friend and his son at the airport tonight for a week long stay. We head to the Keys for a few days of diving after dropping the kid off at school tomorrow. She will join us after school. Weather looks like it is going to cooperate.

A few of you have asked how the pirate is doing. She is good. Movement is increasing in the right eye but she is still experiencing blurred and double vision. She is embracing the pirate theme and even some of her friends are getting eye patches as a show of solidarity. Took a few pics for relatives and thought I would share.

No, the symptoms have not included excessive hairiness. This is her younger and more behaved sister. Sorry it is a bit blurry.

I call this the psycho pirate. You can see some of the Disney collectibles in the case in the background.

My problem with the iPad was mostly the cost. I was thinking I might prefer just a simple e-reader and then save up to get a laptop at some point rather than the iPad.

I was also figuring the display on the Kindle would lend itself to reading better, since it's not backlit. The iPad and other backlit displays would tend to give me a headache after a while.

Does your wife like the Kindle? What's up with the page-turn lag?

She likes it okay. The page-turn thing is that the screen goes to black for, I don't know... a tenth of a second or so, and then the new text appears for the next page. It really bugs me when I'm reading.

Hey thanks, I appreciate the suggestions. I am going to speak with DW to discuss a second opinion, and to definitely follow up before a year.

My son doesn't know that we got the results back (he was in school when we went to see the Dr.). But last night when I put him to bed, I had him lie down on his stomach, and I tried to feel the spine to see if I could detect this curve. He said to me "Daddy, is my spine still curved.". Honestly brought a tear to my eye. What did he do to deserve this ailment?
I told him, "Buddy, you are fine. Get to bed and don't even worry about your back." He did. Unfortunately, I can't say the same for myself.

I really know so little about this. Like what are the long term affects, etc...? What are the odds that it'll get worse or repair itself on it's own?

Anyways - enough of my rant - someone please get Dave the origin of Yorkshire Pudding.

Yorkshire Pudding from wikipediaWhen wheat flour began to come into common use for making cakes and puddings, cooks in the north of England devised a means of making use of the fat that dropped into the dripping pan to cook a batter pudding while the meat roasted. In 1737 a recipe for 'A dripping pudding' was published in "The Whole Duty of a Woman":[1]
Make a good batter as for pancakes; put in a hot toss-pan over the fire with a bit of butter to fry the bottom a little then put the pan and butter under a shoulder of mutton, instead of a dripping pan, keeping frequently shaking it by the handle and it will be light and savoury, and fit to take up when your mutton is enough; then turn it in a dish and serve it hot.

I knocked the closet out of what will be the new kitchen and have plans to build a closet in what will be the new bedroom.

We bought our house as a 3 bedroom. (My son's current room doesn't count because it is directly off the master bedroom) But like I said - one of them had the patio doors to the back yard in it. When we tried to sell it this summer we did get a few comments that it was really a 2 bedroom because no one would use that room as a bedroom.

In other news... Next weekend I am taking the family on our first ever camping trip to Cherrystone Campground on the Eastern Shore. It's going to be VERY interesting since we are tent camping. DW has NEVER camped in a tent before.... and she is not an outdoor lover. Pray that I will live through the weekend! Oh... and it's a special "scary" month there, too... so we get to trick or treat and do all the Halloween stuff. They call it Scarrystone this month

well tonight its back to the mk. we will be leaving soon. no meal plans but im sure we will find some junk to clog our arteries up with to eat! tomorrow is tepen edo at 5. we will be in epcot in the am and also back in the pm.
today dw and i got to do something we havnt done in the mk in a long time, sit on a bench, in the shade, in front of the castle for a half hour and just watch. i was watching the guy go up in the crane in an open basket to hang lights on the castle. not me!! its great just sitting there, blue skys and looking down main street!

Secondly, I enjoyed watching the Sox come back in 2004 and win the series. That said, one of my best friends apparently decided in October 2004 that he was no longer a Dodgers fan. He has been a life long Red Sox fan since 2004. I think everything he owns now has a Red Sox logo on it. He is so obnoxious about it that I have gone from "liking" the Red Sox to despising them about as much as the Yankees, just so I can talk trash to him. Speaking of which, I need to make a phone call...

My wife was going to order me a Kindle for Christmas, and in fact did so 2 days ago. Now they just announced the Kindle Fire, which doesn't cost a lot more and works more like a tablet. So do I

a) stick with the original order, since all I really wanted was an e-reader.
b) cancel and wait until they drop the prices on the original Kindles
c) cancel and order the Fire since it provides more value for not much extra $$
d) don't do anything until the reviews come out
e) buy an iPad
f) all of the above, or
g) take the money and invest in bacon instead?

My wife has a kindle and really likes it for reading. It does what it is supposed to do really well.
But, the ipad does so much more.
I'll be able to compare them side by side next month when I get my iPad2 through work.
