First of all, using hockey success to talk smack to somebody from Indiana is a waste of effort. :lmao::rotfl2: My reaction: :confused3 :rolleyes1

Secondly, I enjoyed watching the Sox come back in 2004 and win the series. That said, one of my best friends apparently decided in October 2004 that he was no longer a Dodgers fan. He has been a life long Red Sox fan since 2004. :rotfl2: I think everything he owns now has a Red Sox logo on it. He is so obnoxious about it that I have gone from "liking" the Red Sox to despising them about as much as the Yankees, just so I can talk trash to him. Speaking of which, I need to make a phone call... :lmao::rotfl2::rotfl:

Good point, seeing as you guys don't have a hockey team, a real baseball team, or a real basketball team, I guess we can only talk trash about football. How's the season going? :confused3

Well, we haven't lost to the Bills yet. :confused3 :lmao:

True, just the Browns, Texans and Steelers. :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Seriously though, I don't think any real football fan is looking forward to Manning's inevitable retirement this off-season. That is going to be tough. ;)

forgot to mention. we had diner tonight at the rose and crown. that was the first time we have dined there and we loved it. we would of had the best seats in the house for illum. if we could have milked it out for 4 hours.:lmao:were i was sitting, i could watch the new group over in canada.:thumbsup2 tammy had a pork dish. (looked like sausage to me) with mashed potatoes and like any good red blooded american man, i had the beef!! red!!!:lmao: i also had potatoes, green beans and (i need someone to explain how this got its name):lmao: but , yorkshire pudding.:snooty: tasted like gravy bread to me but in a different shape!!

IamTrike beat me to the actual explanation but the first thing that popped into my head was the Cheers episode where Cliff explains it:

"Actually, Yorkshire pudding was invented in the late 1770s during a beef shortage.A person could be given a little beef and soak up the gravy with the pudding, fooling his stomach into thinking it was fuller than it was."

Oh, he'll be back. Colts will get the W Monday night if Collins doesn't start.

I'm going to have to watch the Celtics next year. The front office there has a history of appreciating basketball talent from Indiana. I think some guy named Bird used to play for them and then they added JJ and E'twaun in this year's draft. I guess there will have to be a basketball season if I want to watch them though. Too bad nobody cares about the NBA. It won't be missed anywhere near as much as teh NFL would have been.:lmao::rotfl2:

Could be long lockout for the NBA... The NFL was making a boat load of money, so they had a reason to make sure they came to an agreement; I have the feeling most of the NBA owners aren't making money, and really need a radical overhaul to continue. Seeing some of the contracts marginal NBA players have now, it could get ugly...

Oh and while we'd love to have you come root for the C's, just be warned that 3 of our 4 best players are over 100 years old combined. Could be a lot of blown hips and knees before the season over... :rotfl:

OK guys....need your opinions on Tony's Town Square.

I'm reading mixed reviews online but would trust your opinions a little more.

I stress little! :rotfl2:

I come from the camp that has never had a bad meal at Disney World, and I'm also not a foodie. I thought Tony's was good. Not the best meal in the parks, but certainly not a bad meal. The Lady & the Tramp theming is nice, and you can get a view of the parades at night if you time it right.

Just got a text from Dave while he's waiting for a seat at CP... soooo jealous. Here's a bacon shot for you from Dave:

Glad I got a Disney fix... but it also reminds me that we do not have a trip planned for next year. :sad1: Might not BE a trip to the World next year. We'll see.

In other news... Next weekend I am taking the family on our first ever camping trip to Cherrystone Campground on the Eastern Shore. It's going to be VERY interesting since we are tent camping. DW has NEVER camped in a tent before.... and she is not an outdoor lover. Pray that I will live through the weekend! :lmao: Oh... and it's a special "scary" month there, too... so we get to trick or treat and do all the Halloween stuff. They call it Scarrystone this month :lmao:

That's ok, I'm Purdue fan. Blown knees are as common as breathing there. Last season the football team lost their RB and #1 QB to torn ACL's, this year the new #1 QB is out with a torn ACL and the #2 guy is still trying to get back from last year's torn ACL.:sad2:

Then of course the basketball team has been dealing with Robbie Hummel's ACL issues for the last 2 years.:headache:

I'm glad to see JJ and E'twuan go to Boston (and still be playing together). It will be great for JJ to get a chance to learn from Garnett. I've always thought he was that kind of player. Can't think of a better veteran to teach him.

I don't know how this restaurant gets such a Love It or Hate it stigma. I've eaten there several times and never had a bad meal or experience. It's Italian food - it's pretty hard to screw up spaghetti and meatballs.

We have a winner!!! :cool1:

Congratulations to AJ and his Splash Mountaineers for winning the first DIS Dad's Fantasy Baseball Championship!!

It was a seesaw championship with AJ's team coming out ahead in the last day or two. Also, congrats to The Incredibles for their amazing playoff run knocking off a higher seed in every round until the championship.

Great season to all and look forward to doing it again next year.

We went there for dinner a few years ago. Coming from the N.E. (more authentic Italian restaurants than Italy itself) we might be a little 'snobbish' with our Italian food so take this 'review' with a grain of salt......

It was OK. My DD had spaghetti and the sauce tasted 1 step above Chef Boyardee. My wife had the Seafood Diavolo and she thought the seafood was good but the sauce was lacking. I had the NY Strip which was good. I think it is ok there, if your expectations aren't on the highest level. ;)

Ate there last year, and enjoyed it. Also not a huge foodie, but I thought the food ant atmosphere were both good. Prices weren't crazy either.

Nice… but it could use some more bacon.

We don’t have a DIS trip planed for 2012 either and it will be the first un-Disney year for us in a good long while.

:sad2: Sad…

I've only been there for a grand gathering character breakfast with the fab five and Tony. No problems with the food...pastries were great as I recall.
No experience with the Italian food.

Thanks for all the feedback on Tony's.

It does seem they have a love/hate relationship with most everyone who has reviewed it.

Knowing it's our last day, I'm struggling to choose a TS for the day. Debating between Crystal Palace Breakfast, Tony's (lunch or dinner), and Liberty Tree (lunch or dinner).

Leaning toward CP or Tony's only because we haven't been to either before.

Unfortunately, I don't believe we'd be able to do a CP breakfast before park opening due to the fact that MK opens at 8 that day and I believe CP doesn't take seating until 8:05a.

I also know that we'll be waking up extra early Saturday morning to catch ME to get to MCO for our 6am flight home!

Thankfully MK has Evening Magic hours Friday night and will be open until 2am. So maybe a couple of us will just stay up and play at MK until the bus comes. :thumbsup2

Love the Red Sox choke. :woohoo:

Still doesn't make up for the Yankees choke in 2004, though. :sad2:

I am with Tim on the Italian food thing. You get very spoiled living in this area so we usually avoid Italian food south of Philly. Ii is probably OK as long as you are not expecting LIttle Italy/South Boston quality.
