Soccer ownage.

First soccer game of the season in the books. Team won 6-1, but it wasn't that close. The other team only had 3 shots on goal all game. I would like to take all the credit for my great coaching, but I think it has more to do with the players. And, one of my stronger offensive players was out today. I really like seasons like this.

Congrats on the win! Went to the first game of the season here to watch students play. Had students on both teams playing each other. Just pulling for good play.

Its my Princesses (DD) birthday and we are heading to Cheesecake Factory!!!! Avacado Eggrolls here we come!!!

Hello Guys. Things come and things go. People say things one day, then change their outlook another. Life can be so fickle at times can't it? I just wanted to share, and once gain ask for some pixie dust and prayer. I was "invited" on to a conference call yesterday afternoon, and the promises that were made just about 3 or maybe 4 weeks ago now have vanished. I was basically given two options. I could be done effective Monday and receive a severance package, OR, I could continue to work at a reduced salary for 30 days, and then be done and receive no severance package. Hmmm. I selected the severance package option. That'll provide income and health benefits for us through the end of the year whereas the other option, well...yeah.

So, I've now kicked my search into hyper drive. I went in this morning and cleared out my office so that I wouldn't have to deal with that next week. What a great way to start the weekend. But - I'm looking at it as positively as
I can, and just pray it will work out decently in the end. It did make my DW feel a little  last night, but it's not like it was totally unexpected. I am now #7 this year. I just wonder how many more will get their notice before the year is finished. :confused3 Oh well, it isn't truly my concern any more. Nearly 11 years came screeching to a halt in one short half hour (and about 3 this morning as I brought everything home).

Stopher, so sorry to hear the news. We'll keep you in our prayers and I will keep my ears and eyes open for you :grouphug:

Evening Dads,

just watched X-Men first class after picking it up at the huge closing sale at Blockbuster. Too bad they are closing but we picked up 7 movies and a Wii game for $100. Great for us, bad for Blockbuster.

Today was Declan's first real day of tackle football. They had their season opening jamboree today. They played 3 modified games and he got to play some slotback, o-line guard and outside linebacker. Made some nice blocks and a couple of great tackles.

Hope you are all having a great Saturday.

Its my Princesses (DD) birthday and we are heading to Cheesecake Factory!!!! Avacado Eggrolls here we come!!!

Happy Birthday Mark's little girl.

We LOVE the Cheesecake Factory.

Need to get them here in TO. On second thought, maybe not... those HUGE plates of food, should be left for vacation only.

Finally, a little computer time, but not enough to catch up on all I've missed.
Irene knocked out our power for 8 days; cable, Internet and landline were all down for 11 days. We took on water in the basement during Irene but it wasn't too back compared to some. No water during the remnants of Lee this week as we discovered it was coming in under the garage door and we sealed it up. We have now had 52 inches of rain this year as compared to the norm of 30 for this date. I think we've had over 7 inches of rain this month already. It was great to see the sun today! :cool1:

Go Ironpigs!!!

My phone is now faster than my netbook. So, I am looking for a new laptop, netbook, or tablet to buy. Other than Ipad, what do you like? I do have a budget, but welcome all advice.

Using an I-phone right now. It is OK. I'm the wrong one to ask about technology though. I shave with a straight razor and write with a fountain pen.

I do not have an iPhone - as my work pays for my Blackberry. :thumbsup2

But I have used the iPhone, and know people that have them, and everyone I speak to loves them.

It takes a bit of getting used to typing with the touch screen.

I will say though, that internet browsing on the iPhone is way better then on the Blackberry.

Dave when you go to WDW you have to go to Epcots Italy and catch the Ziti Sisters, If you are in the front I'm pretty sure they will pick you to be in the show (they like the bald heads:lmao:):rolleyes1
