Hey guys....

I noticed things had been quiet from you around here lately and was hoping things were going ok. Sorry to hear about all the drama....and like the guys have said...things WILL get better.

Adding you and yours to my prayer list!

Heard on the Boat:

G-Man: Daddy I have a fish

Me: Are you sure

G-Man: Well, my bobber went under

Me, now looking back: Reel him in Bud!!

G-Man: I don't think I can do that

Me: Why not.

G-Man: Because it's an alligator.

Me, now stepping over to him: What the "peanut butter"...

Sure enough, he's hooked a 3 foot alligator. Hooked a fish first, the alligator ate the fish...and here's my 3 year old reaching down to "pull the alligator off":scared1::scared1:

I can't figure it out, I can lose a 5 inch bream on this rod, but I can't shake this gator off--finally just cut the line.

Thank **GOD** his mother wasn't there:headache:

:lmao::rotfl2::rotfl: Why do I get the feeling this is the first of many stories like this?

Today was my B-Day...everyone take tomorrow off to celebrate!!! :thumbsup2

:banana::banana::banana::banana::banana:

Happy birthday Nate!

One thing kids like is to be tricked. For instance, I was going to take my little nephew to Disneyland, but instead I drove him to an old burned-out warehouse. “Oh, no,” I said, “Disneyland burned down.” He cried and cried, but I think that deep down he thought it was a pretty good joke. I started to drive over to the real Disneyland, but it was getting pretty late.

one of my favorites! :thumbsup2

:lmao::rotfl2::rotfl:

If God lives inside us, like everybody says, I hope he likes enchiladas. Because that's what he's getting.

Hey guys.

Just wanted to stop in and say hey. I haven't been around much - but I'm still here. I pop in every so often. Thanks for all the prayers in the past. I would sure appreciate some more now.

Take care guys.

Stopher, we've missed you here. And I hate the fact that the struggles continue, both with work and ailing family.

I can tell you one thing, though. I've met your family. I've seen your kids in action, and how you relate to them. You're a great father. You've overcome your past. No matter what happens from this point forward, take comfort in the fact that you have done right by your family.

Doesnt St. Marys Seafood serve Gator Tail? It was good last time I was there.
Maybe you can make a commission!

Hah...except for that whole "felony" thing for taking a gator out of season:rotfl2:

Mom wouldn't approve of him catching the big one of the day? :confused3:rotfl:
.

Mom freaks if she sees an alligator around the boat. I fish in Florida, any idea how many gators I see while fishing aorund here? This was pretty much a baby, but it was really close to her baby:rotfl2:

:Fed - Nice :woohoo: Hope you didn't catch hell from the wife:lmao:

She's a wife, and a mom---you tell me how it went...:lmao::lmao:

Hey guys.

Long time no post, I know. It's been a really wild, roller coaster of a year for me. In the past few weeks I've had a scare at work with almost being out of a job, my wife tells me that the docs are now saying that my FIL probably has 4 -12 weeks remaining to live (though 4-6 is probably more realistic), and my dad - who I've never had a good relationship with, and basically been estranged from for the past 12+ years - decided after his mom's death this summer that it was time to get involved with his sons & his grandchildren once again (he hasn't seen them since my daughter who is 7.5 yrs old was 13 months). So he came for a visit this weekend. Arrived Thursday evening. Today I had to rush him to the emergency room, and sat with him there for several hours before he was admitted to a regular room for continued observation and tests. Based on the symptoms he had been describing to us, we thought it might be a mini-stroke, and yeah, I got him in the jeep and got to the hospital asap. The docs think so too. He was due to fly home tomorrow but now has to change his flight til Wednesday at the earliest, but we'll know more in the morning. First I was on edge all weekend due to the bad years of our relationship, and then I was on edge all afternoon not knowing what the tests would show. I know that God has a plan for this, but wow, what a day. I'm beat. Now to find airfare for my DW to get out west and spend more time with her dad...

Just wanted to stop in and say hey. I haven't been around much - but I'm still here. I pop in every so often. Thanks for all the prayers in the past. I would sure appreciate some more now.

Hang in there buddy!:goodvibes

Why do I get the feeling this is the first of many stories like this?

Because you know me:lmao:

Christopher, take care of your own and we will be here for you when you need us. Prayers going out to you and your family and when you need it we'll offer up some cheeseballs and support. :grouphug:

Morning all. Woke up to temp in the 50s. Projected to be in the 80s by Friday. KY weather.

We took DS to the zoo yesterday and he had a great time. Most importantly, it was sweatshirt weather instead of 90 degrees out. It was cool enough out that we actually saw a living breathing lion move and even roar!!! How often does that happen???:lmao::rotfl2:

I did learn one important thing about Disney World while we were at the zoo. We were waiting for the dolphin show to start and I overheard a conversation a few rows behind us. This couple was arguing about how many parks Disney has. They came to the conclusion that there are 5 parks... Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, Animal Kingdom, Sea World and Universal Studios.:scared1:

HOpe everyone is having a great holiday. We are home from GReat Wolf and I am freakin freezing to death!! It is 60 degrees , but I do think that an early fall is on the way!!! Tropical storm Lee is dumping his goodness on us. 3 inches so far today and tomorrow the heavy stuff is supposed to be here! They are saying possilby another 3-6 inches of rain! All I can say is....at least it is NOT snow!:scared1:

Happy Belated birthday Nate!! :cool1:
I'm glad you had a good time at the lodge. Do you realize you just said you're freezing to death and it's 60 degrees???? :confused3 :lmao: I think we might need to remind you about this statement this winter when there's an ice storm and you're begging for 60 degree weather... personally, I think it feels great.:thumbsup2

Hey guys.

Long time no post, I know. It's been a really wild, roller coaster of a year for me.
We'll definitely be keeping you in our prayers. I hope things go well with your father. Despite the awkwardness of the situation, that's great that he feels like reaching out to you and rebuilding that relationship. I hope the 2 of you can mend fences, and hopefully, he'll recover from his medical issues.
I hope your DW can get out west and get some quality time with her father. I know it has been a tough year or so for you guys, and him.

Hah...except for that whole "felony" thing for taking a gator out of season:rotfl2:
It was on your son's fishing line!:scared1: Is it a felony if it is self defense???:confused3

Let's see - it's actually been more like 25+ years that we've had problems. As I shared with a friend earlier this week... he basically screwed my adolesence in a big, big way. And has continued to try to do so for years since. There's way too much to say that can't be shared in this forum, but yeah, I've never really had the relationship with him that I am trying so very hard to foster with my own kids. He was literally never there, in so many ways. So yeah, trust and respect and admiration... all things that so many of you have with your dads, I just don't. Honestly never have, and it's really hard to deal with at times. Just like the holidays tend to make many people depressed, etc - Father's Day has never been my favorite time of the year. My own kids try hard, and have made it better for me as their dad... but yeah, not a favorite of mine by any stretch of the imagination.

All we can do is learn from our mistakes, and try to grow as better people. Hang in there...
I've ordered you a sign for the door.

Morning all. :goodvibes Hope everyone had a good long weekend. Getting back to the grind over here.

Our new DS is still having trouble adjusting to night and day time, but other than that he's doing well, happy & healthy which is all that matters. :)

Just posted a new Top 5 over at the DisDads website, head on over and check it out if you have a minute, and let me know your thoughts... Also let me know if you're interested in giving us a top 5 list on anything Disney (or Dad) related you can think of, and save everyone from reading too much of my sleep-deprived rants!!! :thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

Hope everyone has a great day!

Terrific sign. I had a rant going but deleted it. I am showing sign to DW. I've almost convinced her to spend Christmas holiday break in WDW than with trifling BIL.

Stopher, my thoughts are with you and your family.

Side note: It sounds like I'll find out tomorrow if I got the job or not. Fingers crossed.

Just saying hi all, trying to get this and that done around here. Ended up taking the kids to the Canadian National Exhibition yesterday while DW slept a headache away, a total last minute thing, but it kept my attendance streak alive. Crowded as hell, made WDW look like an empty park, but it's the reason I usually never go on Labour Day. We didn't do much, but the girls had fun, that was what counts:thumbsup2

More prayers to Stopher, and anyone else who needs it. I was thinking about everyone and tossed coins into the wishing well on behalf of the DisDads with some wishes/prayers. I know I've missed others, I've only scanned the threads briefly as of late.

Good luck to you Katoot!

oh, and on that whole work/transfer thing from early this summer, turns out I was slated to go in the early-spring round of transfers, but my boss vetoed it, citing he was already losing valuable staff and didn't want to be stripped of competent people. Found out Thursday from the DM himself, when he stopped by the store, and we had a brief one-on-one. It's still going to happen, just no timeframe on it, the way we discussed the upcomming Xmas season, it might not be till next year anyways.

Don, you have 1 month to come up with a excuse on why you can't be at BG on the 3rd:lmao: It will only be my wife and I since most of the scare zones are recommended for 16 and up:confused3

Hmmmm... October 3rd is a Monday... and they are closed... so I guess I have a pretty good reason not to be there! :lmao::lmao: Care to try a different date?

stopher!!!! good to hear from you again. hang in there buddy, better times a comin!!! we'll keep you and your family in the prayers. i miss those pics!! keep in touch, if you need anything, we are here!:thumbsup2

Sorry about the roller coaster ride stopher.

The pics are great - mind if I steal one for tomorrow's Wordless Wednesday?

It's been a totally crazy day here today. I figured it would just be a normal, getting-back-to-work-after-a-holiday-weekend day, but instead it's turned into something else. We managed to get thrown off by the fact that Squeaker is on two different meds, both of which are month-to-month prescriptions, that we started at different times. So we missed that, while he still had plenty of med #1, he ran out of med #2 on Labor Day.

It took him to the doctor first thing this morning, only to learn that the PAs who staff morning walk-ins can't legally prescribe med #2. Squeaker's doc, who is the only doc in the practice who will prescribe med #2 to kids Squeaker's age, can't see him until 4 p.m. this afternoon. So I dropped him off at school on only one of his two meds (which means he'll likely sleep much of the day again). Got some work done remotely from the coffee shop while I got my caffeine fix. Then made the computer store run that I missed yesterday while dealing with yesterday's round of the Squeaker Follies. Picked up the couple of things I needed, grabbed some lunch, and am now home.

Got a bit more work done, and am simultaneously working on another screen on the massive data migration project. About an hour and a half before I head back to pick up Squeaker to take him back to the doctor.

Thanks Dave - and everyone else.

What I NEED Dave... is a WDW or DL fix. It's been entirely too long. :sad2:
