Krispy Kreme has made my day!

I don't know about your neck(s) of the woods, but the Krispy Kreme here in Madison is doing a promo this week . . . trade in a tie for a free dozen glazed donuts!

I lucked out because they were just being glazed off the belt when I was in to buy my donuts! A dozen HOT donuts for a crappy old tie! Score!

Sounds like a good deal to me! Haven't heard of that promo around here though...

Yes, you can use Disney Gift Cards to pay for resort reservations. Did it myself this year. Bought them when they were having Double Fuel Perks at Giant Eagle (local grocery store for those not in western PA). By paying for my trip this way I got $400+ in free gas, basically saving 13% off my Disney trip.

Cheers,
Indy

Now that is a hell of a good deal.....congrats!

Looks like they've released total package pricing for 2012 yesterday....dining plan included.

Here's a link to a good informative article at Mouseplanet.com

Standard Dining plan went up $5.55 per adult but also added a resort refillable mug.:drinking1

I misspoke, my daughter was 6 months old when she went with us in January. She will be fifteen months when we go in October. My wife is currently pregnant with our second child who will be force fed Disney from birth...

Yeah, I think Disney realized that the QSDP was becoming too attractive of an alternate to the DDP. They took one of the two snacks/day away from the QSDP, and added the refillable mug to the DDP.

Sitting around doing a whole lot of nothing today, we wore ourselves out good with a trip to the Toronto Zoo...helped alot to break in my new pair of "Disney Shoes", which went well, not a trace of problems. Wore everyone out good, but it is almost more intense then the world...lots of hills etc, and less stopping/resting then the parks would afford. We did the whole Zoo except the Canadian Domain, and it's killer hill. Girls had a great time.

Using today's day off to relax, catching up on Ghost Hunters, and reflect on the past week, which was one beverly one around here, what with the lice, and both DW and I had dealt with major work issues. Not sure what'll happen tomorrow when I get back, but we'll cross that bridge when we come to it.

On the plus side....65 days to go....only 37 of those ARE working days...

Ouch. So it still doesn't seem like it's giving larger families that much of a break in terms of price.

It really depends on perspective/size of the family in question. The Family Suites essentially slot in between the cost of a moderate resort and two value resort rooms. If you have five family members, your options are limited to:
Port Orleans Alligator Bayou trundle-bed rooms (limited availability)
Fort Wilderness Cabins (accommodates up to 6, priced higher than other moderates)
Art of Animation (accommodates up to 6)
Adjoining rooms in a Value (connection not guaranteed, pay extra for the fridge that's in AoA and no microwave that is in AoA)
Deluxe Resorts with daybeds (not all Deluxe rooms have them)

If you have six family members, AoA and Fort Wilderness Cabins are your only non-DVC single room options. I didn't price FWC, but I'm fairly sure that AoA would come in a few hundred dollars less than FWC.

So...any of the FTJ Dads consider going on the Onsite Education Seminar? :confused3

I am if I can get spousal approval for this research trip? :thumbsup2

Hmmm..seeing that we will be getting the DDP again next year as well as this year, they should just give me the mugs free this year, instead of next....!cough

OKay, really dumb question, I don't remember seeing this..the Mermaid area will be standard rooms, right? Will they be up and running by 2012, or just the Cars and Nemo suites? DD just loves Ariel that much, and it's up in the air what we'll do for next August. I imagine the AoA will fill up fast, and I'm not sure whether or not we will do POP if the buses are shared. I am kinda hoping to steer DW to a moderate for the stay, especially if we get the right kind of deal. (If AAA/CAA repeats the kids stay/play deal, that would do it)....

Heh...it sounded a lot better then "Tax return + REALLY good deal= August trip" We thought we'd see if the free dining would come up, but the Kids Stay/Play deal worked out just as well so we said heck with it and bit. We figured out the taxes on March 4. By the next week we had our ADRs booked, by the 17th, the trip and down payment made. ;)

From the article I read that Nemo opens May 31 2012....Cars July 31...Lion King Sept 30...and no time table yet for Little Mermaid.

I noticed on the 2012 Dining plans that there are no resturants listed at Coranado.

I think they are all owned by another company at the CSR and the DP needs negotiations before they are placed on the brochure...and may show up at a later date...but it is something to keep in mind until they do show up.

Anyone else notice any missing locations?

Some quick searches suggest the following:

Only Nemo Suites are available starting in June 2012.
Cars Suites started showing up in August 2012.
Lion King Suites started showing up in October 2012.
Memaid Rooms NEVER showed up in a search - looks like they'll be done last, sometime in early 2013.
It's also worth noting that it doesn't look like Disney is allowing any AoA rooms to be booked for November or December 2012 (because I can't imagine that they're already all booked up for the entire two month period when reservations have only been open for about 48 hours).

No paricular order...

- RideMakerz in Broadway at the Beach...Made my self a realy cool Mater Hotrod (Father's day treat from Boys)...DS11 made a "Stealth" Mater Monster truck..he got a RC controls base. I'd seen RideMakerz before both there and in DTD in Orlando....but when I walked by this one and saw they now had Disney/Pixar Cars... I was sold!!! This store is geared toward boys...but I saw some girls having fun too...mostly dads geeking out over how cool this stuff was...present company exclude.
1) Welcome back!
2) We did that last year at DTD as a surprise gift for my son. He loved it!

- The Disney Store in the Tanger Mall at the Junction of hwy 17/22...they had some nice DisneyLAND clearance items...I found a matching hat to my WDW hat...except the DL version...for $10 I also got the Brown/Orange "Por Favor Mantengase alejado de las purtas" hat for only $5...found a nice DL T-Shirt that was marked for $32...for only $10. :thumbsup2...Lady at the counter said they were the only Disney Store in the State when I inquired about the other Tanger Mall located on Hwy 501 between the Beach and Conway.
Hmm... it's only 3.5 hours away and if I leave on Friday night we can stay the night and hit the store early...

yeah - I saw that... grr We love the QSDP because it fits our "don't tie me down" browncoat-esque mentality that usually has us running from anything with an ADR tied to it. We liked our extra snack credits! How am I supposed to live on one Dole Whip a day at MK?

So...any of the FTJ Dads consider going on the Onsite Education Seminar? :confused3

As my wife is a FTJ consultant we're planning on doing the trip next year together.

I noticed on the 2012 Dining plans that there are no resturants listed at Coronado.

From what I understand (from reading the Disney food blog) they're not quite done with the restaurant list yet so I wouldn't worry about it too much.

I wish! Just not in the budget for me.

Sounds about right. If your typical family budget is oriented towards a Value or Moderate resort but you happen to have a family of 5 or more, it's tough to make it work. I was grateful for the trundle-bed rooms at POR last year. I do think the cabins are a nice value, though.

I think this happened before, IIRC. Eventually the contracts were signed and the CSR restaurants were added to the DDP.

I brought it up to DW and her reply was "Well how much time do you think we would have to visit the parks?"

Ummm, honey, I don't think you fully understand my plan here. I'll give it a few weeks before bringing it up again.

hey everyone!!!! she done with dance!!!!!:woohoo: let me say it again, she done with dance!!!!:woohoo: :lmao: i just found another 14k a year in the budget!!!:lmao: yippppppueeee!!!!!!:dance3:
i have to say, it was very hard not to keep it together watching your dd dance her final solo on stage after 15 years. tammy took a box of tissues, i called her and her mom friends the sob squad.:lmao: the were crying most of the weekend. but, were done with high school and dance, now it time for 8 days at wdw!!!:woohoo:i didnt have time to read all the posts, i did pm a few guys who asked me stuff. got to go back to work, talk to you guys later!!!:thumbsup2

Wow! I think I need to get DW to rethink her pricing model for the studio. Congrats, I know it's always hard to finish up something that's been such a huge part of your life.

I played around a bit, and I'm likeing the moderates over the AoA suites...we'll see, we won't book till next spring when we know the $$ situation. We'll do AoA when the novelty wears off.

Here is something to ponder, (I have, when I'm bored)....if the AoA goes over like gangbusters, will the POP be re-themed to reflect the AoA? It'll seem a bit odd to have two resorts face-to-face and not be linked.
