Morning All... Drove to the office this morning in 70 degree beautiful sunny weather. Turned around and looked out my window 10 minutes ago, and it looks like the end of days with the storms out there... Gotta love New England weather...

After I dropped my son off at school, I stopped at the store to pick up a few things, I went down the toy aisles, All new Cars 2 cars, seems like a million of them, and as a double whammy new Transformer stuff on the other side:eek: I got to keep my son from going to the store and toy aisle:rolleyes1

Just looking at all the new stuff, I felt a couple pounds lighter (oh wait that was my wallet) :headache:

‘Morning all.

Been AWOL for a few days down the SC coast (I’d have stayed if it wasn’t for this idiotic need to earn an income nonsense).

Sooooo…. What’d I miss… Anything interesting? :rolleyes1

I posted a rant on the rant thread this morning about having problems making my ADR's online this morning. My problem has been solved, ADR's are done! :woohoo::banana::cool1:

I don't know if this has anything to do with it or not, but I tried making my ADR's using IE. It kept giving me error messages, not IE error messages, but from Disney's website. I had to continuously keep logging back in and giving my confirmation number for my hotel stay so that I could make ADRs. Then it wasn't allowing me to actually make an ADR and get a confirmation number. I was about ready to throw my mouse through my peanut buttery computer screen. After about 45 min of running around in circles with no results to show for my efforts, my slow moving mind says, "hey, why don't you try Firefox and see if that makes a difference." I logged into my Disney account with Firefox, entered my hotel reservation info once and successfully made all my ADR's in just a matter of minutes. I just thought I'd shar this experience in case it might come in handy for someone else in the future.

By the way... I'll go ahead and apologize now, I'm one of those evil people who makes an ADR that they probably won't use. I didn't book 2 for any one meal, but I did book a breakfast and a dinner at Chef Mickey's for the same day. We still can't decide which meal we want.

I called first thing Monday morning for our trup and CRT was already completley booked. I was even willing to break our party up into two tables. It bugs me that they advertise Family Gatherings but yet so not play nice when scheduling ADR's.

Sorry about that. How many people were you booking for?
We only have 2 adults and an infant, so I didn't have any problems getting the ones we wanted. It showed availabilty for CRT breakfast the morning we booked CP, but I didn't pay much attention to it since that wasn't what we wanted.

Is it possible to score and lose brownie points at the same time? :confused3

Yesterday was the in-laws' anniversary. I shot off a text to MiL to say Happy Anniversary.

This morning, I sent some pictures from our trip to visit them this weekend. She replied back that apart from her and FiL, I was the only one that remembered it was their anniversary.

Of course, now, she's going to give DW and her brother heck about it, then I'm gonna catch heck for making them look bad.

You just can't win. :sad2:

:lmao::rotfl2: I'm sorry to laugh at your expense, but I really do feel your pain. Sometimes you just can't win, no matter what you do. :sad2:

Like you, I am a full-time glasses-wearer... and the new 3D glasses are terrific. They fit right over and kind of "lock" in place. They are very, very cool. They don't fold up either, which kind of helps keep people from walking out and keeping them too I'd think. Bulky, but very very good glasses.

And the 3D is not cheesy. Definitely worth seeing again, and again, and again...

Sounds just plain awesome. Let me check the calendar for my next Disney trip...

Crap. I don't have one on the calendar. :headache:

Well, if Stopher can use "ergo", it must really be a good word. :woohoo:

Ergo, we shall now over-use it! :woohoo:

I guess I'm facing that dilemma that every parent starts to face. My kids are just starting to get to that age where they can do things independently (dance classes, t-ball, etc) so I see the potential to do so much with them and have them experience so many of the things that I never got to as a child. Yet the old saying is true: "they grow up so fast". I treasure every day with them and a part of me wants to keep them this age forever.

I'm sure everybody here can relate. I'm finding that nothing matches the thrill of watching them become independent, learn new skills, and have success and accomplishment on their own! But I still tell my kids to stop growing.

Yawn. 'Morning. :scratchin <--not scratching his chin.

We went to Target this weekend and grabbed a few of the main characters, just to have as stocking stuffers for Christmas and also to get them before they disappear off the shelves as soon as the movie comes out.

Glad you worked out your browser issues. And that's not evil...but not cancelling the one you decide not to use is. :rolleyes1

Bwahahahaha! I know this all too well. I've done this before and I think it was a net loss of brownie points. :confused3

Does this fall in the category of "The enemy of my enemy is my friend"? Or is this more of the "My MiL can beat up your MiL" variety?

Yesterday I was driving home and had to dig out my sunglasses because it was so bright. While at the same time, I had to bump the windshield wipers up from "delay" to "low" to keep up with the rain that was falling.
I'll see your New England weather and raise you one Wisconsin. :sad2:

In my experience, Wife Points are much more valuable that MiL points. Hope you've got a comfy couch, big guy. :thumbsup2

Often heard phrase around my house:
Parent (to child): Why do you keep growing?
Child (to Parent): Because you keep feeding me.
Parent (to Child): Well, that's going to stop.

Gotta stop at Toys R Us later to pick up some presents. Going to be a dangerous trip...

I will cancel the one we don't use. Just as soon as we decide what we want to do.:thumbsup2

That's not evil! And that's why its a good thing not to give up on those ADRs. Things open up all the time... (except for Cinderella's Caste, sorry Duck! Akershus is more fun anyway, but I know the kids want the castle at least once)

Just wait, it gets harder... I had the fun of dropping my child-in-a-man's-body off two weekends ago for his first "pre-staff" weekend ... Today is his final day as a high school freshman, and tonight I get to go drive him and leave him as he begins his working summer at camp. We'll get to see him for less than 24 hours each Sat for the next 10 weeks. (Everyone under 18 must go leave camp between 11am Saturday - 11am Sunday. WOW. It has gone fast - it seems he was just as tall as my waist a short time ago and wanting to play with daddy all the time ... but apparently not as now he's as tall as me and much more interested in activities with his buddies here, there and everywhere - and mom and dad are more of an afterthought.

...AND I've been told it gets even harder by a really good friend of mine who just watched one of his daughters graduate law school 2 weeks ago, and gave his daughter away in marriage 6 months ago. He has two more at home, a son Harrison's age, and a daughter about Matthew's age - so his emotional roller coaster will only continue for numerous years to come... plus he figures he'll have a grandchild before his son graduates high school - so that will add an entirely different dimension to their lives.

It does go fast. Enjoy it while you can Barry!

On the plus side, they'll be out of the house and you can hand off their student loans, which leaves more time/$ for Disney trips! Or at least that's the hope.

ANNOUNCEMENT

This is a very special post for me.

Most people like to celebrate milestones of posts, such as 1000th, or 5000th, or even 10,000th.

As important as that seems to be, personally I have a HUGE milestone myself.

This is my 4083rd post.

There is really nothing overly significant about it, but if the Mad Hatter can celebrate his Un-birthday, I can celebrate an Un-000th post.

It's the Canadian conversion, that's 3000 posts "American"

Good news from the Doctor today. Everything is doing pretty much what it should be doing. I need to get an X-ray for the shoulder but the best news is that I am cleared to scuba dive again.

Great news!:cool1:

Awesome! How old was your DD when she learned to scuba? I'd love for the family to take it up, but the kids need a few more years of swim lessons under their belts.

We have a privately owned aquatic center here that DS goes to for swim lessons. They have a program called Scuba Rangers that he will start next year, its kind of like cub scouts but they do a lot of swimming, water safety, and conservation. As they progress they start teaching the kids snorkeling and then get into some diving to get them ready to start on their junior certification. You might want to check and see of any dive shops in your area have it.

Yes, you are evil, but your extra booking does not effect our trip. Still, I am not a fan of that.

Did you see that catcher from the University of Florida that knocked his pitcher out cold with an errant throw to 2nd base? It looks like he stumbles over the batter's back foot, changing the angle on his throw. The pitcher is ducking down, facing 2nd base and the ball hits him right in the back of the head. Warning: the video is pretty scary. May want to get the kids out of the room before watching.

That video hurt. I guess never stop teaching to not get hit in the head.
