Make your own beer!! Much more satisfying!! a lot messy.. But really not hard or expensive.. Garage or dark cool place... A lot of boiling.. A lot of waiting.. But there is something saitisying about watching the yeast do it's job..oh and to date there has been no one go blind or die from drinking deeeelicious home brew! It's also a great hobby that will drive your DW nuts!! I promise:rotfl2:

and it keeps you out of the bar!! dw cant complain about that!:lmao:

HAVE A GREAT MEMORIAL DAY!!:thumbsup2

It sounds like we have some people who like a good beer here... AJRitz, how was the Oatmeal Stout? This weekends goods inlcuded:
  • Surly Furious - Surly Brewing Co. in Brooklyn Center, MN
  • Arrogant Ba$tard Ale - Stone Brewing Co. in Escondido, CA
  • Dragon's Milk - New Holland Brewing Co. in New Holland, MI

I tell you what, that New Holland Brewing Co sure makes some goooooood beer. I think Dragon's Milk gives Dark Lord (3 Floyds) a run for their money and it doesn't cost a golden ticket to get, but will cost you some bullion.

I'd rather pay $10 for one good beer, then $10 for 12 of yours!

Giggity! Two in a row-nage!

Done and done. Been brewing for 4+ years. Probably the most obsessive hobby anyone can get into. You're right. There's nothing better than drinking something you produced, and it DOES drive DW bonkers!

I love me some Furious. I wish I could get it around here. ABA is standby (I pretty much love anything by Stone). Dragon's Milk is solid, but I beg to differ on the DL, though the fact you can actually GET DM is a big plus. I'm a huge fan of Bell's Expedition Stout, actually. I have a four year vertical waiting for me in Beer Cellar.

Should we start a DisDads Craft Beer Enthusiasts Thread??

Cheers,
Indy

Great thread idea - it might actually be enough to push me over the hump to start brewing myself.

Beer thread works for me as well. DW almost bought me a brew system for Christmas...mabye it will have to go back on the list. I bet with some of my medical customers, I may be able to use their autoclave for cleaning.

That's all I had to read before I knew where you were going!:rotfl2::rotfl2:

Before I got transferred our office was just on the other side of the horse track.

I have worked in Etobicoke for years... I am currently 5 minutes away from there.

Are you absolutely sure that isn't used motor oil??? Regardless, I'd throw one down with you.

Hey all, happy Memorial Day. Hope everyone's having a great day.

Ditto on that!

We were out at 7am with the scouts (and braved the end of the rain) to put up 200 Flags down the main street in our town. Then my boys were chosen as Color Guard for their Cub & Boy Scout Pack/Troop. Very moving day. Sun came out & hanging at the local pool.

Hope you're all having a happy and safe Memorial Day!

Special shout-out to Fed today. Thanks for your service to our country

Mike, my heart goes out to David. As soon as I heard about it I thought of him. Its sad enough for it to have to happen in the first place but for it to be "his guy", that's just a shame. At least with the former CO stepping in it should speed up the process of them getting up and flying sooner.
Thanks, Nate! He seems pretty good today except for a neck problem.

Sorry to hear about that. Hopefully they can get back in the air soon and put all this behind them. I don't know the details as to why he'd feel the need to resign, but definitely classy to take the heat for the team and bear the responsibility.
They should start flying again tomorrow and might only miss the next 2 scheduled shows.

So today's heat got me thinkin'......

Are there any other DisDads out there who are inherent sweaters while at WDW during the summer? I'm looking for some advice on shirts to wear. Last summer i sweated through the shirt I was wearing in, no joke, the walk from our room to the car on the way to MK. I'm thinking of getting some biking/running moisture wicking, quick drying shirts and then some golf shirts of the same type. I'm actually pretty good on the golf shirts, but was looking for comments on the other shirts.

Cheers,
Indy
I know I won't wear regular polo shirts down there during the heat again!

For Memorial Day, a couple photos from the Lynchburg show:

Isn't soo much fun!! I tell her it has to ferment in the bedroom so that I can keep an eye on it!! :rotfl2: just got a fridge so that I can lager!

Mijo[/] those pics are awesome!! Thanks for sharing..

Happy Memorial Day everyone! Just got back from visiting the in-laws this weekend. Had a great time, went fishing, had some great food (FiL is a chef), and met my new Niece In Law. A good time was had by all.

On a related note, I read their city newspaper while I was up there, and my horoscope from yesterday's and today's papers gave me pause. You'll recall that I'm trying to come up with a way to surprise DW and DD with a September MNSSHP trip. Currently, I'm trying to sell my mother's house, and plan on my part of the money to go towards that trip.

Sunday's horoscope mentioned that a big sale in my future will give me a chance at recreation and my heart's desire. Today's said that everything I want is in reach and that money will come my way from a move or change to my home.

Usually I think that stuff is hokum, but when you get two in a row like that....

Came home to a house that was steaming hot. AC went down sometime after 5:45, just in time for the hottest day of the year so far. Windows are open and ceiling fans are on, hoping that it will cool down a little over night so that my wife can get some sleep when she gets here in the morning after work.

On another note, tonight was the first day of summer swim practice. In the first 5 minutes, we had one kid puke (after swimming 3 laps) and a little later on we had another one that got a nosebleed (she basically face flopped off of the starting blocks). Great way to start the year.

And one more: if you'll think back a few weeks ago I mentioned the possibility of DS trying out for a classic soccer team. We'll we're going for it tomorrow and Thursday evenings. I'll let everyone know when we hear about the selections. DS is nervous/scared but also looking forward to the opportunity. Hoping that we don't get stormed out as there is a chance of that tomorrow evening.

Trying to stay cool here in NC............:drinking1:sunny:

Have you seen P&B or Perry yet?

I must admit I've never seen their show, or care, but for you... I looked and they are not on the character meets list on the Times Guide, nor are they in the Disney Parks Mobile info yet. Soon though I'm sure.

OK David - between your question / my response on Saturday and today (Monday) - the new meet & greet is open. It is located near the exit to the MuppetVision 3D film, where Cars used to be. (It was still behind a wall on Saturday), but there they were today when I came out of the Muppets. I took a couple of pics for you, but those will have to wait until tomorrow to get posted.
