The last page i read was 128, so I apologize.
BUT, I don't care right now.

The VP of my department (my boss) called me into her office today. I've been there 6 yrs, but still, when you get called into the boss's office at 9 am on Friday, you get nervous.

"boB, we're promoting you. You team is changing, so, we need you to be the leader in title, as well as in practice"
On my team of 10, there is 1 Account Manager (the team leader, as it were), Senior Account Coordinator (If the AM manages the client, the SAC manages the team members), and 8 Account Coordinators.
For 6 years, I've been patiently waiting for "my turn", and while always letting the powers know i'm interested in more, I've never let it get me down when people newer than I were moving up faster.

But none of that matters right now. I'm the NEW Senior Account Coordinator.

It's announced, but the old S.A.C. will train me until she takes a different internal position on June 13.

I've got my Balvenie 12 yr :drinking1

Thanks guys! I'm pretty stoaked.
Congrats on your promotion! I'm glad your work got recognized.

On the DME headed to SSR...have a great weekend guys!
You suck.

Just kidding, have a great time. I wish I was there riding the new Star Tours too.

We are driving into our small town this morning to do some shopping and I see this:

I hoping they are here to take care of all the bad weather we're having! :cool1:
SU-WEEEEEET!:thumbsup2

My son was struggling when he called us about this yesterday. He had just left Boss's office and was pretty well devastated. He had gained a tremendous amount of respect for Boss the past 6 months and this decision only amplified that feeling. Boss put the team above his own career despite being asked to stay on. David was going in today, on his day off, to help Boss pack his things and carry them to his car. Chapter two for him will begin Tuesday with the arrival of the new, interim Boss (Capt. McWherter), who served as the Blues' CO the past 2 years. Hopefully, they will begin doing air shows again in a few weeks. Now, it looks like we may be planning a trip to Rochester in mid-July but that may all change between now and then. Fly Navy! :thumbsup2:thumbsup2
Sorry to hear about that. Hopefully they can get back in the air soon and put all this behind them. I don't know the details as to why he'd feel the need to resign, but definitely classy to take the heat for the team and bear the responsibility.

Nemesis theduck to try another basketball discussion after the last one? :confused3. So, who are you're top 6?
I haven't been paying real close attention to the whole great center debate, but it looks like lists of all-time great centers are being assembled, and unless I've missed something I haven't seen Shawn Bradley mentioned anywhere.:confused3
:lmao::lmao:

You guys get ready!! I will be posting a live feed from Disney's Polynesian facing the castle, on Disdads.com starting June 3rd. I will post a link here when I have it up. I don't know what the quality will be.. Due to the Internet speed but it's better than nothing!:woohoo: special thanks to Ajritz for setting up a page on his hosted website!!!:thumbsup2
Awesome! Wishes from the Poly!

Shawn Bradley and Darko (Pistons). Nemesis theduck has these two ranked over Shaq as well.

Beer Ambassador? I didn't know we had royalty in the DDC. That's awesome. I think a DDC Field trip is in order.

I keep asking for diplomatic immunity, in case I do something wrong....like kill a worker goofing off:rolleyes1. The "title" is a step up from the old one" Beer Guy":lmao:

It's 82 today, little humidity, and a terrific cool breeze...it helps since the parks seem more crowded today than yesterday. I'm having dinner in a bit with a belly dancer...yep, i' going to Marrakesh. Mmmmmmm.
Pictures please

Neat. I'll check in one night and see what is happening.

And now, for today's point to ponder:

What disease did cured ham actually have?

Meatcleaverreneringflesh-itis

Diplomatic Immunity ... Just been revoked!

My grandfather's most prize possession was years of service ring from the distillery. I don't have the ring, but I do have the bung knocker, the tool used to replace the cork from the whiskey barrel to sample it while it aged.

So today's heat got me thinkin'......

Are there any other DisDads out there who are inherent sweaters while at WDW during the summer? I'm looking for some advice on shirts to wear. Last summer i sweated through the shirt I was wearing in, no joke, the walk from our room to the car on the way to MK. I'm thinking of getting some biking/running moisture wicking, quick drying shirts and then some golf shirts of the same type. I'm actually pretty good on the golf shirts, but was looking for comments on the other shirts.

Cheers,
Indy

I'm a mega sweater. I would go with any kind of dry fit shirt. Reebok, Nike, Champion, etc... all make those. I've gotten several of my shirts at Dicks, but I've also gotten a lot of my running wear (including several Dri-Fits) via Ebay. You can get Champion shirts at WalMart and or Target, and you might find them a little cheaper. You can also find them on the clearance racks quite often at Dicks, but they are very "loud" (read: fluorescent yellow, orange, etc...). I also keep a long sleeved white shirt on hand during the summer months just in case, for some stupid reason, that I get sunburned. Fortunately, I've come across several of these shirts over the past few years because of races that I've participated in. I prefer to go with the T shirt look rather than the golf shirt because I wear a large brim hat and I don't have to worry about the collar irritating my neck.

Big props to Fed; thanks for the hotel info. :worship: We'll be in on June 17th, at the Sleep Inn, IIRC.

Aww...I'd never actually kill anyone, too much paperwork involved.

That sounds awesome. It's the Old Grandad, isn't it? I very much prefer american whiskey and Bourbon over canadian stuff or scotch...

Been lugging ice all weekend (back is starting to feel it:scared1:) The thing that burns me is when someone aks advice on how much ice they will need, and you tell them and they get 1/2 the amount:confused3 I guess I throw them off with the add water to melt a couple of bags, add drinks, then add more ice as a blanket on top:confused3 They would have the coldest beer in town, but after doing frozen for 23 years, what the Beverly do I know:lmao:

My great-uncle (Basil Hayden or maybe it's great-great uncle) did the recipe for Old Granddad. My grandfather just worked at the distillery. Old Grand-dad was in the movie Bad Santa and referenced in a George Thorogood song. I wish they would give me royalties, or at least free samples. Ironically, it was sold to Jim Beam which I got sick off one year in college, passed out in a bathtub, ....

Anyway, I'm probably more of a beer drinker, but I do like Makers Mark and Crown Royal. But, Hennessy Cognac is really good as well and I just bought a new bottle of it. I do like vodka as well. Here are some pictures.

The neck is really thin in case you swung too hard, then you would break the tool, and not burst the barrell and lose all the alcohol.

This sizes it to scale.

I took some. Will transfer to my computer and upload later. @ MK now. It's open til midnight with EMH... don't think I can last til 3am, but I'm going to give it my best shot.

Ownage....

The best part, in a round-about way, is that I get PAID to be a beer nerd. I wear a lot of hats at the store, but the first and foremost is I am the store's "Beer Ambassador", and maintain the store's beer section. I just wish we could get our hands on more of the good stuff, but do what I can. I think I've had the Westie 12, gotta check my notes at the store whether or not it's been in, my memory today is spotty at best. My fave from Belgium is still Delerium Tremens, but it'll never get relaeased up here, too much "Political Correctness" BS about the name, because heaven forbid you slightly offend ANYBODY in this day and age...:headache:
There was just a release of Rogue beers for a brewery spotlight, and I grabbed a Double Dead Guy and a Chipolte Ale, to be consumed afterwards.

You'd remember having a Westy, and, just a guess, but it probably hasn't been in your store, seeing how you have to purchase it at the monastery in Belgium. It's one of the top rated beers in the world. As for DT, love it. Good thing Canada is so PC. I mean, who would want to allow its citizens the ability to drink good beer?? And now I have a new goal in life. . . . BEER AMBASSADOR. As for Rogue, I love me some Dead Guy. Haven't had the DDGA, but the Chipotle is, well, interesting. Having a DFH Raison d'Etre as I type this. I'm sure you're a Unibroue fan - the pride of Canadian brewing.

Dry Fit T's it is. I really don't worry too much about being "loud". That's how I roll.

Very jealous... It was about 80 and humid up in Maine today, and I wasn't able to fast pass any rides, or have diner with a bellydancer...

Wow this is the 1st weekend since before Easter, we haven't gone somewhere or done something:rolleyes1, it looks like most of the weeks coming up are booked solid:goodvibes:woohoo:

Very nice....I have no memory/keepsakes from my Grandfather (the one I knew), although a book on local history had a chapter about him, which helped me learn a little more about him. He always seemed distant to most of us, and for the most part I kept it that way, he ended up cheating on my grandmother when I was still quite young, and I have issues with that sort of thing.

I have a few mini-bottles of various Basil Hayden Bourbons...bottle wise, I only have Blanton's Reserve right now, and some JD/Gentleman Jack. Old Granddad comes into the store every few years or so, and would love to grab a bottle of Eagle Rare 10yr if it makes the round again. We have other stuff, the basics like Knob Creek and Maker's Mark, but I'd rather have some that is harder to get. Problem is bourbon is such a hard sell up here, what a shame.

Stropher, I'm not a Crown fan for whatever reason, other then the Crown Royal Black...

Yeah, I was thinking a bit afterwards that I was wrong, I'd need to see the notes. There are times we do get a hot commodities, but the government is so bull-headed, I doubt we'll see much change. :headache:
I haven't seen Raison d'Etre in years, we have no Dogfish Head up here anymore, the "reason" given to us is that they can't produce enough domesticly, so can't afford to support the export market, which came at the worse time, as the 6's of 60 Minute IPA were really taking off. Hopefully it'll be back again soon. I usually drink Anchor Steam, or some of the Canadian Micros we have, had a Lugtread Lager with dinner, smooth organic lager from the Ottawa area.

Unibroue...sigh, Sleeman owns it up here and are royally screwing the beverly out of it for Ontario. They made it so most brands are hard to find at the Brewer's Retail stores, (Most don't carry it), leaving only Blanche De Chambly in an overpriced 6pk available through us. I can't get any Fin Du Monde without major searching, and most brands are no longer available. tghe problem is once a big brewery gets a hold of the little guy here, they do what they can to neutralize whatever threat that brewery represents. :furious:

DW received an e-mail about the bung knocker. Apparently, the DisMoms are infiltrating.

I indulged in a few from one of my favorite local microbreweries today, the Free State Brewing Company in Lawrence, KS. It opened while I was a student at the University of Kansas, and at the time was the first brewery licensed in the State of Kansas in 100 years. It's still a very small brewery, and their beer has only been available in bottles for the last year or so. I had an Oatmeal Stout and a couple of Ad Astra Ales. I LOVE their John Brown Ale, but there wasn't any at the store. I may just have to drive up to Lawrence and bring home a growler full.

That's Beverly about the Unibroue. Not that I'm a huge fan (I feel that they need to actually use different yeast strains. All of their beers have the same fruity yeast profile), but I know I can go to the local distributor right now and buy a sampler case for a relatively decent price.

ISO!! I'll PM you my address!!

Make your own beer!! Much more satisfying!! a lot messy.. But really not hard or expensive.. Garage or dark cool place... A lot of boiling.. A lot of waiting.. But there is something saitisying about watching the yeast do it's job..oh and to date there has been no one go blind or die from drinking deeeelicious home brew! It's also a great hobby that will drive your DW nuts!! I promise:rotfl2:

Just ran about 3.5 miles in 67 of the most humid degrees that I've ever run in. Glad that my wife is still asleep because I look like I've just gotten out of the shower and I'm dripping all over the floor. Clean up on aisle 4 :lmao: Headed out in a few minutes to get the car looked at and to buy some oil so that I can get the oil changed in the van. It's good to have a Monday off; we don't get those too much. Have to keep telling myself only 9 days of school left......
