College/HS/Gradeschool/Preschool Graduation? DISNEYWORLD

Thursday? DISNEYWORLD

I agree! Disney makes everything better! With that said I have to admit DW and I are feeling a little guilty planning our 15th anniversary trip down in August without the kids. The problem we have is that we know we could plan a 3 day trip down with the kids or go without them for a week. We have setup plans for them to spend time at their Grandparents house and their cousins if we leave them home and they do seem excited about that.

What do you guys think? Is it Ok to leave them home this year and tell them we will work out a WDW trip for the whole Family next year or should we work out a plan to take the kids this year on a shorter trip?

I'd like to apply for official membership into the Dis Dad's club. How much are the dues and how do I get one of those cool Dis Dads symbols in my signature?

Also, see you on Podcast Cruise 3.0. We're trying to keep that one a secret from the kids. Long time to keep a secret...

Great! See you there!
When are you planning to tell the kids? That IS a long time to keep it quiet.

Looking forward to hearing Flying Fish details. That's a restaurant I have "almosted" a bunch of times.

Welcome! If you can meet the criteria on the first page you are in (we are highly selective) Not sure where we are at the the number assignment but someone will be along shortly to assist you. Meanwhile pull up a barcalounger and help yourself to the refreshments.

I seem to remember the dues being newest guy buys the Dole Whips at the next meet up so more incentive to recruit others.

They can become quite pricey... depending on the term you sign up for.

The full access, lifetime membership is our premium gold standard, that runs.... well, I'll let Emma's Dad fill you in on those details.

But 'till then, take a look around, make yourself comfortable, and most of all :welcome: to the DISDad's club.

oh, and p.s. lesson #1 this is called OWNED - 'round here ;)

Back from WDW as of 1am. A recap:

Hoop De Doo Revue: :thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2 (thumbs). Can't believe now that we hadn't tried it before.

Boat to Ft. Wilderness across Bay Lake during a thunderstorm: :thumbsup2 (not thumb). Lightning in front of and behind us? That can't be good. :scared1:

Sanaa and Flying Fish: :thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2 (thumbs) Another couple of excellent meals at those places. Best food of the trip.

Bay Lake Tower: :thumbsup2 (not thumbs)

theduck619 and family: :thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2 (thumbs). Great to meet you guys. I am glad we made it work out.

Not taking pictures: :thumbsup2:thumbsup2 (not thumbs). In my defense, I am an idiot.

Walking into the Princess Meet and Greet in MK with a 5 minute wait: :thumbsup2:thumbsup2 (thumbs)

The wait at the Rapunzel and Flynn Meet and Greet: :thumbsup2:thumbsup2 (not thumbs). Having this set up as a timed program with separate "shows" can be pretty discouraging.

Having a daughter get up the nerve to ask Flynn if the crown is in his satchel: :thumbsup2:thumbsup2 (thumbs). Ummm.. if you have kids at this meet and greet, I would encourage you to get them to ask if the crown is in the satchel...:rolleyes1

Canceling the Phineas and Ferb Meet and Greet after I had rearranged our schedule: :thumbsup2 (not thumbs). CURSE YOU DISNEY THE PLATYPUS!

All in all, a great trip. Kind of a rough start, but a lot of really fun stuff and quality family time. I think we hit the length of stay pretty well, as the girls were ready to get home and back to normal and not clawing at the doors as we took them to the car...

...that was me.

Great trip summary - I'm interested to hear more about why Bay Lake Tower earned a double-not-thumbs.

Finished another soccer season. Enjoying the sun.

Glad you had a great trip. We didn't like FF or Sanaa. Restaurants can have good /bad days as well.

Very cool....

and the 3D effects were.........? :3dglasses

We didn't do 3d. I don't like wearing the glasses.

Well, it's 6:03pm on Saturday, and I'm still here...guess all those Christians were wrong...:lmao:
Apparently, the time zone was not foretold.

Don't classify those "Christians" as a representative for the whole.

Amen. Welcome back, nemesis.

Ugh. After my trip to Colorado for training, I'll have enough credits for a free flight on Southwest. This would be a perfect use of a free flight. But that trip isn't until the last week in June. I don't think there's any way that reward travel can be turned around that fast.
