Update on the world in Canada: Has not ended yet

I heard reports in California that clothing was found lying all over with no one around outside. Oh, wait... That was at the Playboy Mansion, so that is par for the course. False alarm. :lmao:

DW: Do you know what he looks like?
Me: He's wearing a DisDads shirt.
DW: You have SHIRTS?!?!
Me: Yeah, missed my window of opportunity on that one...
:thumbsup2:lmao::rotfl:

Except, of course, as there were not pictures, this meeting did not happen. Even if David and his family are wonderful people, and my daughters were bad influences for his. :sad2:

nope didn't happen!!:snooty:

I say we do a FULL investigation.

Don't worry, I'm on it.

And that folks - is #4000!

Great photo! Congrats on her graduation! Yet another chapter in your life! Now all you need is a motor home and a hover round!:rotfl2:

Back from WDW as of 1am. A recap:

Hoop De Doo Revue: :thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2 (thumbs). Can't believe now that we hadn't tried it before.

Boat to Ft. Wilderness across Bay Lake during a thunderstorm: :thumbsup2 (not thumb). Lightning in front of and behind us? That can't be good. :scared1:

Sanaa and Flying Fish: :thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2 (thumbs) Another couple of excellent meals at those places. Best food of the trip.

Bay Lake Tower: :thumbsup2 (not thumbs)

theduck619 and family: :thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2 (thumbs). Great to meet you guys. I am glad we made it work out.

Not taking pictures: :thumbsup2:thumbsup2 (not thumbs). In my defense, I am an idiot.

Walking into the Princess Meet and Greet in MK with a 5 minute wait: :thumbsup2:thumbsup2 (thumbs)

The wait at the Rapunzel and Flynn Meet and Greet: :thumbsup2:thumbsup2 (not thumbs). Having this set up as a timed program with separate "shows" can be pretty discouraging.

Having a daughter get up the nerve to ask Flynn if the crown is in his satchel: :thumbsup2:thumbsup2 (thumbs). Ummm.. if you have kids at this meet and greet, I would encourage you to get them to ask if the crown is in the satchel...:rolleyes1

Canceling the Phineas and Ferb Meet and Greet after I had rearranged our schedule: :thumbsup2 (not thumbs). CURSE YOU DISNEY THE PLATYPUS!

All in all, a great trip. Kind of a rough start, but a lot of really fun stuff and quality family time. I think we hit the length of stay pretty well, as the girls were ready to get home and back to normal and not clawing at the doors as we took them to the car...

...that was me.

Sounds like a lot of fun...

Now I want to know what was in Flynn Rider's Satchel.

I also want to ask him "What is the strangest thing you've ever done?"
He says in the movie, while having a sword fight, using a frying pan with a horse "This is the strangest thing I've ever done".

Lovely family...

No better way to celebrate Graduation than with a trip to WDW.

I don't know there's a better way to celebrate... ANYTHING... than with a trip to Walt Disney World.

Just a few examples of big events, and how they should be celebrated.
Winning the Super Bowl? DISNEYWORLD!:yay:
College/HS/Gradeschool/Preschool Graduation? DISNEYWORLD:cool1:
10 yrs of Marriage? DISNEYWORLD!
Thursday? DISNEYWORLD!:woohoo:

That's a bummer that the phineas and ferb meet and greet got canceled, and surprising. You'd expect them to have that set with it being new and all...

Well, it's 6:03pm on Saturday, and I'm still here...guess all those Christians were wrong...:lmao:

So you're telling me that I shouldn't have emptied the bank account and gone on a 3 day binger, while neglecting all my responsabilities? Uh oh...

Maybe their summer vacation hasn't started yet....then again, how the hell do they get 104 days of vacation? Must be an American thing....

Finally caught up on the 20+ pages. now I'm off to see about visiting the Luray Caverns this July 4th holiday. Anyone been there? Any tips on where to stay the night? We did the Skyline Caverns a couple years ago... that was really cool. Can't wait to see the stalactite organ :cool1:

I was there years and years ago, and stayed at a B&B up in Mt. Jackson (Widow Kip's). It was nice, but is about 10 miles NW of the Caverns. That might be in the wrong direction for you guys. And it's a B&B, so that might not be the best option for a family.

It appears that congratulations are in order for everyone who's been participating in the Dis Dads Podcasts. It was brought to my attention that the podcast has made the iTunes "What's Hot" list in the Places & Travel category - a list of the "hottest" (and I'm not sure how they measure that) 120 podcasts in the category.

Thanks everyone for all of your support and participation!!

Thank you, Aaron. And thanks for letting me be a part of it.

Sounds like a fun trip!

That's a bummer that the phineas and ferb meet and greet got canceled, and surprising. You'd expect them to have that set with it being new and all...

My DW suggested it might be because of the ramp-up for the Star Wars Weekend stuff just taking all the resources DHS had. Or not wanting to mix the Star Wars stuff with the little kids just wanting to see P&F without encountering stormtroopers. :darth:

So you're telling me that I shouldn't have emptied the bank account and gone on a 3 day binger, while neglecting all my responsabilities? Uh oh...

Or as my single friends like to call it: the weekend.

Okay. Got the song recorded, along with two other standards. As soon as the videos are mailed to me, I'll get them posted.

Then you can all commence to blaming Berry.

Congrats!

You know, that's a really good point that I hadn't thought of. I think most summer vacations around here are from the first couple weeks in June until the beginning of September, so much closer to 80 days than 104... Maybe they're in private school?

The only thing I'd add is some more details on your great meals! Saana is one of my new favorites.

Hi guys,

After many years on the boards i have discovered this club!
Better late than never right?

I found you actually via your podcast.

I will start by declaring my total fascination with all things Disney.

In our family I am chief planner, DW is the grounded one!

DD5 is my little princess and is a tink and general princesses superfan.

We are based in London, UK

We are DVC members and spend a minimum of three weeks per year at WDW and have been going every year for many years as a couple and then as a family.

We are heading to the boardwalk for three weeks at the beginning of august and we are buzzing with excitement.

I caution all readers that DW and I share this ID so I do not have gender issues sometimes on other threads it may be DW!!!!

Well that's me!

Raz (Mr) :wizard:

Welcome!!!:cool1:

Update on the world in Canada: Has not ended yet

While I am relieved to hear this, it doesn't answer the question of why my mom and dad aren't returning my calls.:confused3

I know this year's school year ends near the end of June around the 24th, and back up September 6....maybe around 70 days or so...what a gyp....

Sorry you had a long day. Then again, we drove from WDW to Northern VA, although at considerably less than 900mph. Even in a minivan.

DW: Do you know what he looks like?
Me: He's wearing a DisDads shirt.

It was great meeting you guys as well. Your daughters were hardly a bad influence at all. My shy one regretted not playing more later. My DW had the same reaction when I said I was ordering a shirt.

Technically the meeting (held inside a secret room within the castle) did not happen without a pic, but like the CIA we like to keep it low profile. FED has taught us well :thumbsup2:lmao:

Now THAT is my kind of trip report! Well done!

The only thing I'd add is some more details on your great meals! Saana is one of my new favorites.

I am working on the extended dance remix of the trip report now, and food, as always for me, features prominently.

Also, see you on Podcast Cruise 3.0. We're trying to keep that one a secret from the kids. Long time to keep a secret...
