I don't know how reliable it is yet...but I have been told in the past that 6-8 weeks in advance is when you will see the best rates....I am hoping that is true because we are flying down in WDW in August and I am waiting until end of June to buy our tickets....hope the gamble pays off!!

Steve, do you guys fly out of Columbus?

I read somewhere online that the cheapest prices during the week for online ticket sales happen on Tuesdays at 3pm!

I've heard that too. I've also heard that the cheapest airfare is usually found about 2 months before the flight. But I check the airline's websites daily until I find a price I can live with.

We have flown out of both Columbus and Cincy to Florida...When we fly out of CMH we usually fly Southwest...the time we flew out of Cincy it was on Delta..I am going to try to get a good rate on Allegiant our of Huntington...lucked out last year and got it for 39 each way for us all...It flies into Sanford instead of MCO, but that is not bad...you might want to check and see if Allegiant or AirTran (which is now owned by southwest) have any nearby airports that they serve.

I considered Allegiant and AirTran - but was worried about flying into Sanford for fear of missing out on Magical Express.

I brought this over from the Princess Pic thread, he's my Hero:

DS3 was the first kid in line on New Year's Day. He never felt like a bigger big-shot than walking around with Jasmine's Kiss on his cheek.

I love the look on his face, and the phrase Jasmine's Kiss.

Like, "Jasmine's Kiss!, A flying monkey!"

I recently ran the numbers to compare flying SWA from Kansas City to MCO vs. flying Allegiant from Springfield, MO to Sanford. For every date I checked, the Flight + Rental Car combo from Allegiant was cheaper (and substantially so) than the SWA flight alone.

Hi all! Had a fun family weekend, DS9 and I went and saw Thor in 3D definitely good kickoff to the blockbuster summer movies :thumbsup2.

alright, off to the first day at the new gig, a day one year in the making and something I haven't done in 13 years. Starting over kind of sucks, but it sure beats the alternative.

The good thing about first days is that they usually seem to be pretty low pressure! Sorry about the starting over part but you are right about it beating the alternative! The good news is when you have bad days at work now you can end the night with your faimly watching Wishes!:goodvibes

Thanks Randall - I actually have been to that site too.

Problem I'm running into is that there are only a few airlines that actually are allowing me to search for flights for my dates as they are so far out yet.

Southwest, Airtran, Allegiant and Spirit are all only going out to November or January.

I just worry though because in checking flights for that same week for this year - they were almost always $470+ round trip.

I've had the same frustration with Allegiant only going through mid-November so far.

Today is the 20th anniversary of Muppet Vision 3d at hollywood studies. Pour yourself a bowl of 2d Fruities and toast with a good pun.

It's called "A Salute to All Nations, But Mostly America".

You know, I was just thinking the other day about all the movies I'm going to have to hide before our son gets old enough to start popping in his own DVD's. Our cabinet is going to get very empty and I have no idea where I'll put them all.:lmao::rotfl2:

Oooh! a western.......Blazing Saddles, it must be OK, it has that funny Tim Conway from the Apple Dumpling Gang movies!

WOW!!! DDP? What happened to that guy?

Ya ever notice there is never a happy ending when you try to find out what a "retired" wrestler is doing now?

The flight I found from CMH was $297 round trip before baggage which isn't too terrible.

I'm just scared that I'm going to pass this one up for hopes of something cheaper and never find that something cheaper! :confused3

A non-stop flight would be preferred...but one stop with sufficient layover in ATL isn't bad.

We rent a car so flying into Sanford was not an issue for us. I have to feel like I am in control and drive from place to place myself :rotfl2: Now, when we went on our cruise and I had to rely on Magical Express there was not other option for me than to fly into MCO and on that occasion we fly out of Cincy Round trip for 180.

A few other things with Allegiant that you might want to think about....if you are able to go to the airport and buy your tickets you can save the fee for buying the on line which I think was like 13 or so bucks per ticket last time we used them. So that was 50 bucks we saved just by driving 15 minutes to the airport instead of buying on line. Another thing...if you are traveling with children under the age of 5...dont worry about paying the fee pre select certain seats. After the catagory A passengers (the ones who pre paid) are boarded they let families with children under 5 board. That will save you a few bucks as well. It all adds up. Well worth it to me to fly Allegiant when I can. We have used them for the past 3 trips and it is great!:thumbsup2

Now, dont take my word for it...but we have flown out of CMH many times and I check the rates there pretty regular...I think you can do better than 297....even Southwest out of CMH will have a web only fare that will range from 79 - 129 each way just depending on what you catch on any given day. Just a little food for thought!
