And Chris - there's no way around Fed. He knows Georgia State Patrol & Florida Highway Patrol if you're driving. He know TSA people if you're flying. I once threated to take a boat from Lake Michigan, out the St Lawrence Seaway and down the coast to Florida. Turns out he knows some Coast Guard guys too. :sad2:

Well, let's see...you left out SC:lmao::lmao:

There are some advantages to my line of work...

The views are great I hear from 5,000 feet :lmao:

:scared1::lmao:

Last time we landed there, they decelerated hard and then pulled into the terminal. As we were getting off, we overheard the flight attendant say to the pilot, "Landed kinda hard, didn't you?"

The pilot just looked at her and said, "I hate landing here." :scared1:

That's when you hit the bar:rotfl2:

FED, can I get an escort in May?? :lmao:

Dates? :rotfl2:

Oh, yes. Believe me, I've kept my finger on the mute button for the remote everytime that story comes on to keep my kids from freaking out. :lmao:

Wouldn't even try. Didn't we already establish in thread VI or VII that you shouldn't run from or argue with the cops?

I wouldn't even turn on the news if I were you!!!

Yes, it has been established already....it's kinda of like wrestling the proverbial pig in the proverbial mud---sooner or later you realize the pig likes it.

I already asked. I told him the drive from Atlanta to the FL line would be much smoother in my minivan at 120 with GSP lights and sirens in front and back of me. He laughed for about 20 minutes about my van actually doing 120 then told me "no.":sad2:

It was 45 minutes, and I still throw the BS flag at the 120 "guesstimate"...sorry guys, your speedos HAVE to be wrong:rotfl2::rotfl2:

Never, under estimeate the mini van!! :lmao:

See below...

I still say that the mini van can hit 120... I don't question that at all. I'd love to see you go 120 through GA in it though. The only thing is, I'm pretty sure that all of the GSP lights and sirens will be right on your back bumper.:lmao:

Yes, they would be.....:cool2:

And no...it can't:lmao::lmao:

It would be like Cops on location :lmao:

:lmao::lmao:

Fed was kind enough to pass on a list of places to be especially aware of speed traps. I compared the places he mentioned to a map of Georgia. It looks like there is an area about 93 feet long just north of Ashburn when I can go as fast as I want. :confused3

You know...I'd be really even more careful now given the current state of the economy....when I was on in SC we were told to be "Revenue ENHANCERS" (as opposed to the more common Revenue Collectors)

On a side note...I will be leaving the office in a few to head to Daytona...

I'm doing the Ultimate Driving Experience with the Richard Petty folks down at Daytona International Speedway....Oh man, have I been looking forward to this since I booked it last year...

I had my choice to do it there or Disney, but I just couldn't pass up the opportunity to drive that fast on Daytona International Speedway!!!

I'll do a report here and on DisDads!

I think the 120 is there for our ego's :confused3

I try not to! The teachable moments are good with the kids, but it can be exhausting to explain what they're talking about to a 8-10 year old and to model good behavior(Daddy, what's sexual abuse? Daddy, why are those people yelling at each other? Daddy...)

You guys are making it very difficult for me to get work done today. Not that I'm complaining...

Well, let's see...you left out SC:lmao::lmao:

Wait, there's a SOUTH Carolina, too?!

I know what you mean...I've been getting the "Daddy why do you have a gun?" questions a lot lately...

And one day he saw me in SWAT Gear......life with a three year old:rolleyes:

You could do what my wife's father (a NYC cop) did with his kids, took them out to a shooting range and scared the **** out of them when they were little to make sure none of them ever touched a weapon until they were old enough to handle it. May have scarred her temporarily, but she recovered enough to still join ROTC in college.

I'm cool with that....the Chief of Marital Operations however....:lmao::lmao:

I just finished vol. 1. I am waiting for the library to get the second and third checked in so I can get started on those. Do they keep the same group of kids in all of them?

Same kids. Finn, Maybeck, Philby, Willa, Charlene...Wayne, Amanda and Jess are still around too.

Haven't read the series. Who'd he make a villian? Stitch?

:confused3 can't say :confused3

Don't give any spoilers about it! I just recently started reading them, and even though they're written for kids... I'm absolutely hooked. Just started reading the second one.

I like them too...keep waiting for DS11 to buy Vol 4...so I can read it.

I started reading the Harry Potter books too...I'm on year 5. Kids seem allot nicer and more polite (Harry in particular) in the movies than they are in the books.

:rotfl2:

Our kids are all warped. I think I've told this story before. I work in an ICU, so I have a pretty skewed idea of what "sick" and "well" are (have to be really sick to be in an ICU). So my DD was visiting her grandmother on a day that her great-grandmother was admitted to the hospital.

Her grandmother says to her, "Molly, I'm sorry to tell you that your great-grandmother was admitted to the hospital"
Molly (un-phased): "Was she admitted to the ICU?"
GM: "No."
Molly (returning to her coloring): "Then she's not really very sick"

:lmao:

IT geeks assemble...got a IE8 question...

OK since my IT has moved us to IE8 for our browser standard...being we were stuck on IE6 for years...until finally...just before IE9 is released...we get moved to IE8.

Well now everytime I try to look at the Walt Disney World web site all I get is a bunch of text on the left...some overlaps and you cannot even read it.

I've played with the compatability mode stuff...made sure my flash player is up to date...but still I get garbage.

The Disney Parks site is good...Disneyland...Paris...Japan...Hong Kong...Aulani...all good...

WDW site is jumbled text/links. Any ideas? :rolleyes1

I was thinking it would be cool to get some window decals in the Dis Dad logo so if we are ever driving we could easily identify a member (not to be used by FED for profiling). Has anyone tried making one yet, or know where to get one made? :confused3
