And oh yeah, how many times have the Yanks won the series... what was that? 27 times... that's right.

Those 27 Championships didn't help your Yanks get past the Rangers in the playoffs last year. Keep living in the past - see where that gets you.

Rangers got our first AL Championship last year and we are just now warming up. Defending (read: CURRENT) AL Champions! They may not do it THIS year, but that still gives me all season to rub it in to you Yankee fans!:cheer2:

It's funny, a fraternity brother of mine (I never met him - he graduated 10 years after I did) is a very famous Phillies fan. He caught a foul ball and gave it to his 3 year old daughter who promptly threw it back on the field. It was a HUGELY famous video.

ClearScreen

Yep, saw it. And I saw him on Tosh.0, too - due to that video.
:lmao:

They still don't have a WS trophy though. Pennants are a dime a dozen when you are the most succesful sports fanchise in history.

Good catch, I didnt see the fact that he altered it. Typical Yankees fan though, cheating hs way through it...

Perhaps I did alter the image ever so slightly - but I did speak truth in the same post.... 27 far outshines 2. Enough said.

You know, I feel kind of bad that we're tearing through these threads so quickly, but I love it when it goes fast and I'm having a slow day at work. Meaningless banter and trash talk make a slow day go so much quicker.:lmao::rotfl2:

Very, very true.

That's ok. As I said before, it's about quality, not quantity. Which means...

Ah, stopher probably wins that way, too. Dang it! :rotfl2:

:thumbsup2 Thank you kind sir.

Anyone can root for the big guy. It's like cheering for the bulldozer vs. the anthill. Where's the fun in that?

Mark, you could also just start going to a regional amusement park too. They have rides, and overpriced food and drink too - but you choose to go for QUALITY, a QUALITY NAME, and a SUPERIOR EXPERIENCE... that's why you go to DISNEY Parks and Resorts - such as the Wilderness Lodge... the same holds true with the YANKEES.

Go Yankees :thumbsup2

:thumbsup2

I have the same awesome pinstripes as well as a Darth Tater in my home office.

This particular photo is 3 years old, I believe. I need to get a more current one... the magnificent Yankees cup is still there, but some other cool things have been added since, including the Indiana Jones Taters of the Lost Ark spud... and WDW 40th year merch, DL 55th year merch, and other cool stuff

It could be worse. You could be the Cubs and spend, spend, spend and still not win anything.

:rotfl:

It's sad - the Cubs don't even open until tomorrow, and I'm already in the "next year is our year" mode. :sad2:

Honestly, now - aren't just just perptually in that mode anyway... I mean, really, when has anyone ever gotten OUT of that mode?

The Red Sox are the true evil empire :thumbsup2

:thumbsup2 Agreed.

My daughters are life-long fans, but they were born in 2004 and 2007. I hope you won't hold that against them :lmao:

Which, by the way, means the Yankees should be okay this year. The Sox only seem to win in the years when my children come into the world.

Stop. Just stop.

Please stop reproducing then :lmao:

Amen. :rotfl::lmao::rotfl2:

This is the BEST part of your entire post.

But it took New York to make them great. :thumbsup2

Amen. I need to get back to visit NY... my annual fall trip didn't happen in 2010... I need to make sure it happens this year.

I must agree great cup!!!!!!

Now that's just plain WRONG!!!!

Looking thru the Febuary issue of our company news paper "Siemens World"...found this article and scanned it...though y'all might like it.

scan.jpg

Very cool! :thumbsup2 Go Siemens!

I agree that the three on the shelf above are great cups!

:thumbsup2 Yep - it makes 4 great cups on on a single piece of furniture

:thumbsup2

I love that sign, especially since I live in Queens (yankee fan in the middle of mets country).

Go Yankees!!

That is a great sign. GO YANKEES!!

Our next DDC facebook photo blitz will be coming up within a week or so.If your not on FB get there soon lol.For the dads that have done these in the past know they can be fun!!!! Picture theme is still up in the air.

I think you speak for all of us on this one Dave... great job on getting it all planned out.

Yeah we didn't win the WS trophy last year. But the Yanks did... oh, wait...

Anyone can get lucky once or twice... but it takes a real team to be the dominant force in the league to win time and time and time and time and time and time and time again...... and again... and again... etc.

True... but take out "a real team" and substitute it with "$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$"

Hey Tex, I hope Edinson gives us a good season. He started off strong the first year, but scared me a little last year. I've gotta say though, I still feel like it was a good trade. We had so much depth in OF that we were going to lose somebody if we didn't move Hamilton. I haven't seen a Reds team with this kind of pitching depth since the 1990 world champs.

Really? Any team can get lucky once or twice? Can we have once? Seriously, 105 years!!! C'mon.

Or stated another way:
"Anyone can get be bad once or twice... but it takes a real team to be the pitiful force in the league to lose time and time and time and time and time and time and time again...... and again... and again... etc."

Heck even the Pirates have won a championship since we did.

Growing up in northern Indiana I always had a soft spot for the Cubbies. I though the year they had Leon Durham, Sandberg, lee Smith and Ron Cey was the year they were going to pull it off.

Of course it is... but some of us have quite the patriarch of a FIL... and marrying his little girl meant that somehow he had the right to continue his role as head of the household into my household... ummm, excuse me? While some of us have a MIL who pretty much expects to be included on any outing that the grandchildren go on... And some of have a wife whose MIL and FIL both have expectations about this holiday and that holiday, and, and, and... let me just say that moving out of state helped break that cycle fast. As long as we lived in the same state... there was no getting around it all, no matter how vocal we became. So yeah, the leaving and cleaving intent was / is there... but if you have double sets of Frank & Marie to think about... don't live across the street from them! :rotfl: Make it so they have to get on an airplane to come visit - and then need to go back home again after a week or so.

Only took an 90 minute ride up the road for us. Close enough to visit often. Far enough that no one just drops by.

I hit a goose once with a spud gun. Launched it about 300+ yards towards the lake, just happened to hit a goose on the other side of the lake. Not on purpose but a heck of a shot none the less!! :rotfl2:

Meat and Potatoes, that's what this thread is all about! :lmao:

Being a Rangers fan since the 1970s, it was tough every year seeing your team faulter in the second half of every season.

In 1996, we finally won our division, only to be knocked out of the first round by the Damn Yankees.

In 1998, we won again... but the same fate - bumped by the Hated Yankees in the first round.

1999 - same thing. Playoff exit in the first round by The Evil Empire.

It took 11 years to get back in the playoffs. I was so relieved we did not have to face the Yankees in the first round last year. We took care of Tampa Bay, who had been the overall best team in the AL up to that point. Confidence was high, but I still had this major dread in the pit of my stomach knowing we had to get past the Yankees to make it to our first ever World Series.

I was at Game 6 - the one that sealed the deal. Emotion was SO high at that game - something we (as Rangers fans) had never experienced before. That win over the Yankees was the greatest baseball game in the history of the Texas Rangers - and I was so happy to have been there. In fact, I shot video on my Droid phone of the last out and the fanfare that occurred after. It still brings tears of joy to my eyes every time I watch it. It can be seen here. My phone video quality is not good, and it has no zoom - so I had to caption some of it, but you can kind of get a little glimpse of what it was like. It was one of the best experiences I have ever had in my life - thanks to those Damn Yankees!

BTW: I respect the Yankees. But I hate them and everything about them.

$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$"

It takes a lot of this just to go to ANY of these pro-games - whether it's baseball , football, basketball, hockey or whatever. And those antics the MANY, VARIOUS teams pull is sad because it just continues to drive the costs up making it difficult for families to enjoy live games too often. It's very sad. I don't get to many games because of it... but then of course, living in a metropolitan area without any pro-baseball team is a bit prohibitive as well. We do have the minor league Indians here in Indy, which are fun to watch (and much cheaper by the way), but even still I don't get to enough games. Baseball is the only sport I really love. I enjoy basketball (live vs on tv), and hockey too, but football just isn't my thing. Never has been.

Growing up in So Cal, I enjoyed Dodgers season tickets that my dad had year after year. I still love the Dodgers, they are my favorite team in the NL... and of course, they originated in... Brooklyn. :thumbsup2 But those were the days back then... Garvey, Scioscia, Lopes, Baker, Mota, Yeager, Valenzuela... so many great guys. And of course, Lasorda! I really need to get back to Chavez ravine sometime soon....
