Well, we found out today that my father-in-law will be requiring a triple or quadruple bypass. Surgery is scheduled for Monday. DW is really upset and DS is old enough to know something not-so-great will be happening to grandpa.

Doctor said he has a strong heart and feels confident that things will go well. Funny thing - FIL had 75% blockage of his heart, but wasn't overly affected. Just said he felt a little more tired than usual. They caught it last week when he failed his stress test at his checkup.

Hopefully all goes well and he is up and at 'em soon enough. Just thought I would post this to ask for prayers and good vibes for my awesome FIL. Thanks in advance.

Ditto what Steve said! I'll keep him in my prayers.

And with all the XL & XXL shirt sizes, we should all make sure we see a doctor each year, take any meds they want to give you, let them do a prostate exam & even a stress test! My DW lost her father when she was 14 to a sudden heart attack, 27 years ago yesterday. Better to find it on a stress test! Personally, I plan on walking my daughter down the isle at WDW when the time comes

I will put in a good word for ya with the man upstairs.

Wow John...a prayer answered that the stress test happened when it did!

Our thoughts are with you and your family....all the best.

Did he mention me? We get together every now and then too. Same with his Friend Count Blackula.

I also once had a very brief encounter with King Bluey.

DDC VIII - First time owner.

He has mentioned you! In fact he says you've been seeing each other quite frequently lately... Everything ok? JK

I've had the pleasure of the black but never the blue. I tend to favor more single malts over blends. Glenlevit or glenmarangie are my favs.

Lately...in honor of my uncle who recently passed, I've been enjoying some better Kentucky bourbons and find that I fancy them as well! In fact I believe I have about 5 different bottles of bourbon in my man cave bar currently. :thumbsup2

Hey guys, figured I'd check in. Been a long time since I posted...a least 12 hours! Page 18 already, you guys are great.

So I had an interview for a promotion today. Everything went pretty well, and I was happy with the answers I gave. Looked good. Then at the end, I thanked all of the panelists for their time, including Debbie.

"It's Diane," she said.

:headache::headache::headache: :sick:

Good Luck. Hopefully that isn't the deciding factor. I know 500 some dad that will put a good word in for ya!:thumbsup2

Prayers to your FIL.

Anyone have any info on the PA, DE, NJ Dis Dads meet?

Yeah, I'm not happy with myself. I hope I didn't completely blow it. I've been trying for these promotions for long enough that my DW told me I should just go in and give Morgan Freeman's speech in front of the parole board from Shawshank.

"Just go ahead and stamp your forms, sonny, and stop wasting my time..." :rotfl2:

I feel for you - my office is going to get VERY interesting here in about 8 or 9 months. The top two bosses in our office are both very likely to retire at that time, and the decisions about who replaces them will be made with virtually no input from the rest of the folks in our office (those decisions are made in D.C.). If the two people who are expected to get those jobs do get them, and the rest of the dominoes fall the way it looks like they'll fall -- let's just say that I may be looking to continue my career outside of government service.

Praying that your FIL makes a quick recovery and is up and around in no time:goodvibes

:sad2: Maybe you should consider changing your username... I think it's affecting your performance :lmao::lmao: Seriously though... praying they overlook that slip :thumbsup2

Well if it makes you feel better (since you probably don't want to catch up on the last 50 pages or so that you missed in the last thread) there was a slip up on DDC VII yesterday. A certain dad from CT mis-stated the name of another dad from CT on a photo caption. :rolleyes1

::yes::

I just woke up (after watching stopher get his long overdue crown), did I miss anything?:confused3

17 pages? The board has slown down :lmao::lmao:
And a certain unamed Doc has gone cross country !?! :cool1:

I feel like...................................Sleeping Beauty:rotfl:

:lmao: Too bad we couldn't get together today, Greg. Hope your trip back goes well!

As of now, the trip is on:cool1: Work is the only hurdle getting the days off (week before Easter:scared1:)

:cool1: So far just have an 8:00 soccer game... then we'll be heading to BG. Guess we'll try to firm up some plans as the day gets closer :thumbsup2

 Wow... praise God the stress test revealed the blockages. Praying for good outcome here :)

AJ what is the time difference central to eastern 1 or 2 hrs, just want to make sure I got the right time:confused3

I got my son's room primed and painted the ceiling, I was quite impressed with the spackle job (:cool1: still got the touch:banana:) 1 light coat with the taping, and a light skim coat afterwards, hardly any sanding:yay:, Guess all the Auto Body work i've done when I was younger paid off:woohoo:

Wow.

I would say, love the new thread smell, but 19 pages! :scared1: The new smell was lost a few pages ago.

Congrats Stopher on the closing. I especially enjoyed your method using all the pics.

You guys are really eating up the threads.

Happy Birthday Aaron!!!

Mark, Good luck on the promotion. I would hope that she doesn't hold a little thing like name calling against you.

::yes:: on Prayers. Hope that things go as well for him as they did for my FIL this week. He had surgery on Friday to reattach his colon, fix some hernias, and a few other things, and was told that if everything went well he might be out in a week to ten days. He was sent home this morning. :woohoo:
