:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

And thanks for slowing down a bit guts! After a 3 1/2 hour flight, I thought we'd be even further in!

And unexpected OWN!

So I had an interview for a promotion today. Everything went pretty well, and I was happy with the answers I gave. Looked good. Then at the end, I thanked all of the panelists for their time, including Debbie.

"It's Diane," she said.

:headache::headache::headache: :sick:

D'Oh! Peanut Butter! But Barry's right, at least you didn't call her a boy's name...

Well if it makes you feel better (since you probably don't want to catch up on the last 50 pages or so that you missed in the last thread) there was a slip up on DDC VII yesterday. A certain dad from CT mis-stated the name of another dad from CT on a photo caption. :rolleyes1

Senior moment!

So...I have to share my drive home with you guys....normally this drive takes about 10 minutes at the most.

Today I was put in charge of picking up a quick dinner before church...Wendy's was the chosen meal. Of course the line was extra long...no big deal...it moved quickly. So I continued on my nomal route home only to come to the dreaded train tracks that I have no choice to cross. Of course there was a coal train there. No big deal...coal trains go quickly. The gates are going up and I'm the second car away from going through and then....you guessed it....the gates go back down!

So after waiting 10 minutes for the coal train....a second train, a Triple Crown comes through. Oh...the dreaded Triple Crown and it's never ending cars!

So 25 more minutes later...I finally got through the crossing.

Did I mention that during all of this, it was snowing?!

My 10 minute commute took me 45 minutes!

I lost count how many times I said peanut butter.

And to top it all off...Wendy's shorted me a sandwich!

But....I know my day is going to get better....my friend Johnnie Walker just arrived. ;)

Holy Beverly! I leave for one day and when I come back, I knocked on the door to the clubhouse and no one was there. Just an edict from somebody named Mod saying it was permanently closed.

Then I find the new clubhouse and see we are on page 17 already. Tried to finish VII but quit before I got to page 240. Same for VIII. I read a few of the opening pages but gave that up too.

If anyone is interested, the weather in the Keys yesterday was great.

I just woke up (after watching stopher get his long overdue crown), did I miss anything?:confused3

17 pages? The board has slown down :lmao::lmao:
And a certain unamed Doc has gone cross country !?! :cool1:

I feel like...................................Sleeping Beauty:rotfl:

I'm a teacher up here in New Yawk. The last couple of times we went to WDW was during the second or third week of August. In fact that's what we are doing this year. Schools up here do not start till after Labor Day. We never had a problem with crowds.

On another note

I appreciate all the ideas and suggestions on how to tell dw that we are going to WDW. The one about using our kids to tell her might be the best. The birthday and anniversary that is coming up in April are not milestones. I know that she will be upset, but she loves WDW just as much as I do (when I first met her she had all the Disney videos on tape still in the plastic wrapping, holding onto them for when she would have kids).

I'll be at WDW Aug 21-27, :confused3

Not to be racist or anything, but your friend Johnnie - what colour is he?

Greatness! This may deserve a spot on the front page of the thread! :happytv:

OK back to a Disney discussion for a minute....

Any other Dad's or DW's on here in Education? I'm struggling with the fact that the times we have available to go spend a week in WDW are peak times or extremely hot!

Currently we've been vacationing in Daytona for a week during our Spring Break, right around Easter and spending just a day at MK for my girls. I'm trying to change this tradition a little and spend a week at WDW, but also realize that this is the absolute peak time for the year and am not a fan of big crowds!

Any other Dads have any experience in vacationing when you're limited to the normal times off that a educator receives?

I'm thinking summer is going to be the best and only time that we'd be able to swing a week at WDW that we wouldn't be fighting everyone else to enjoy our stay.

Also - has anyone every bought DVC through a resale agency...if so - how much is average resale on points these days?

Thanks!

Summer is not too bad if you make rope drop, tour until lunch time, then take a break at your resort for several hours during the middle of the afternoon (naps and/or swimming.) Be sure to take a cool shower before heading back to the parks around dinner time (or eat dinner at a resort), then tour in the evening after it cools off a bit. Very manageable.

Oh, and be sure to have a touring plan!

Have fun with the painting... I had enough of that in the Navy! :rotfl2: Say... you still planning on the BGW trip on the 16th?

As of now, the trip is on:cool1: Work is the only hurdle getting the days off (week before Easter:scared1:)

Thanks John.

I think that next summer may be our first, just the four of us, family vacation. This summer we already have plans to be with my parents in Myrtle beach.

He's Red....and he invited his friend Woodford Reserve!! :thumbsup2

Did he mention me? We get together every now and then too. Same with his Friend Count Blackula.

I also once had a very brief encounter with King Bluey.

Doh! I hope that your answers and composure were more than enough to get you the promotion.

I think the correct response is, "I'm sorry I know a model named Debbie, you remind me of her".

Either that or it's time to break out the smolder.

:headache: Ouch...

Well, good luck anyway! :goodvibes

Oooooooooooh wow!

Well, maybe Diane will forgive your slip and put you through regardless.

Well, I guess that's better than her saying "It was a pleasure to meet you, Mike":confused3

Not good Mike....ummm Mark.

Yeah, I'm not happy with myself. I hope I didn't completely blow it. I've been trying for these promotions for long enough that my DW told me I should just go in and give Morgan Freeman's speech in front of the parole board from Shawshank.

"Just go ahead and stamp your forms, sonny, and stop wasting my time..." :rotfl2:

Well, we found out today that my father-in-law will be requiring a triple or quadruple bypass. Surgery is scheduled for Monday. DW is really upset and DS is old enough to know something not-so-great will be happening to grandpa.

Doctor said he has a strong heart and feels confident that things will go well. Funny thing - FIL had 75% blockage of his heart, but wasn't overly affected. Just said he felt a little more tired than usual. They caught it last week when he failed his stress test at his checkup.

Hopefully all goes well and he is up and at 'em soon enough. Just thought I would post this to ask for prayers and good vibes for my awesome FIL. Thanks in advance.

I am thankful that they caught the problem before something even worse happened...we will be praying for him and the rest of the family!!
