Rain-X is amazing. First time I used it was our first drive to Disney. It was awesome watching the rain hit, bead up, and slide off. It's Magic!

It is Magic!! Half the time you don't even need to use the wipers. In fact - if I can get away with it, I'll leave them off for fear that they will rub all the Rain-X off. :rotfl2:

I once had 13 people in my '84 two door Chevy Blazer. I was perfectly comfortable in the driver's seat. Everyone else thought it was a bit tight.
Were they wearing red rubber noses and oversized shoes???

I use the RainX washer fluid... I haven't bought the stuff to apply to the windshield in years. The washer fluid works exactly the same way as the regular RainX and if you're afraid of it coming off, all you have to do is hit the washer button to apply more.

That is what we have. Love it.

And we didn't want to support those Beverly unions, so we bought from the union-less Honda. (Yes, I threw this grenade in the room and I am now running out the door.) :rotfl:

We looked at those and really liked them. We went with a Nissan Quest. It has the same engine as the Maxima so it can really move, although not as fast as Barry's souped up, turbo charged, nitros equipped, sound barrier breaking mini van :lmao:

Would you be able to keep up with the red minivan with that? :lmao::rotfl2::lmao:

Based on yesterday...No problem---but I will say this....on my way to work this morning (I 95 South through Jacksonville, FL) I was travelling my normal commuter/FHP leave you alone speed (80 in a 70) when a blue Honda Oddysey with one of those luggage carrier things blew by me like I was standing still---Yellow and Blue New York Tag, I counted 4 kids, but may have been more--Had a Disney Family cutout sticker on the back...so I figure he was headed there.

Unfortunately for him, he also blew by me right into the usual FHP "Enforcement Zone" where they have been hanging out on the motorcycles and in the unmarked cars....I had been tipped off to this zone by the FHP guys who hang out in my office during the afternoon to "cool off", so I back it down through there---and 80 in that kind of traffic is fast enough...

Anyway, I caught up to him about 2 miles later...while the Trooper was walking up to his window....He was going AT LEAST 90 when he passed me, if not faster. Not really the place to do that:headache::headache: Couldn't tell if it was one of the Troopers I knew, but I'll find out later

On a related note - you know who I hate? Those punks that drive around in dark blue Crown Vics with tinted windows and a spot light above the mirror. Are they pretending to be cops just for fun? :

Oooh, I HATE THAT too.....usually it's not the kind of people you want in a police vehicle either...

Departments have decided to make money off selling their old cars police cars to retailers....who then resell them (of course)...

They (the Departments) used to decommission them and remove all the police package stuff...but they don't anymore...

We **know** that some criminals buy them to give them similar vehicles to better fend off driving tactics during a pursuit. Some are playing cops....which is very very very bad.

Some take them and turn them into show cars popular with some youths--in which case you KNOW the poor car is wondering who they ticked off to get treated like that in retirement:rotfl2:

Thats the beuaty of what we do! We are doing something we would normally do anyways for free. We dont charge the customer as we get paid through Disney! AND its something that sales itself! Kind of like being a Dole Whip salesman!!! :lmao:

oohh dole whip salesman... as long as it came with free samples, that is what I want to be when I grow up!

That was my thinking. I love planning trips and helping others plan theirs. Now I get a little something from Disney for it. (Not to mention the tax write-offs for taking vacations.) :rolleyes1

I have 5 kids, not sure if they will allow me anymore tax writeoff's

Going car "shopping" tomorrow. Looking at our friends who own a Ford dealer. I dont think they have anything that seats 7 smaller then the "Bus" (Excursion). Need something with MPG not GPM. Any suggestions. We are in a Saturn Relay 3 right now. Love my Saturn but its time to move on since they did. Sad!

We bought a Honda Pilot a few years ago (which seats 8 in a car that is not the size of a bus).. While it's not an American company...here's my long winded experience. Apologize now for the welts you will get when your head hits the keyboard.

We had a Ford Explorer which had been nickle and diming us for quite some time...we spend thousands on new bearings because "they just wear out sometimes", among other things. So we decided it was time for a new car.

Our requirements: 1. it had to seat 8 people so we could take a whole other family with us if we were driving somewhere (we have 4 people, so apparently the only families we can be friends with have to have 4 people too :lmao: ). 2. We wanted the full package, leather, navigation all that. We had not had a new car in 10 years...it was time to do it right! 3. We didn't want a minivan.

So that narrowed it down to the Chevy Traverse and the Honda Pilot. I did the online research thing...even going through Costco to get their pricing, and then I e-mailed 2-3 of each type of dealer to see who would give me the best price. That narrowed it down to one Honda dealer and one Chevy dealer. Time to go test drive.

The Honda dealer was closer and on the way to the Chevy dealer so we stopped there first. We were greated within 5 minutes by the guy I had been dealing with on the phone and e-mail...and he had a car set up outside for us to test drive. It was a Touring edition of the Pilot...so fully loaded. Holy cow what a ride. Quiet as all getout...comfortable...and the car just felt solid to us. We wanted black, though, and this car was maroon. We left there while instructions for him to find a black one.

We show up at the Chevy dealership...meet the woman I had been e-mailing and talking with within 5 minutes. She escorted us to a waiting area...apparently she isn't actually in sales. She left us to go get a salesperson (by the way, we had an appointment...they knew exactly when we were coming). 25 minutes later a sales guy finally arrives. Not off to a good start.

They had a car pulled up out front...we walk up to it and I almost laugh. Of the two requirements above, the one they decided was the most important to show us in a test drive car was the 8 passenger side. They took us for a test drive in the stripped down lowest end model they had. :confused3

I felt like I had asked for a Mercedes and they brought me a Pinto to test drive (no offense to Pinto owners). Very weird. We asked him about it...and, oh they don't have 8 passenger vehicles with all the bells and whistles on their lot. Again, I had been dealing with these folks for two weeks.

Oh well...of we go on the test drive. I hopped in the back and DW was the driver (this was replacing her car, I own a very manly truck. Vrroooom!).

the first things I noticed were the seats. While the Pilot seats were thick luxurious looking leather seats...the driver and passenger seats in this car looked like skinny versions of airline seats. They didn't even *look* comfortable. Now I know why the Traverse has a bit more room in the back!

We start down the highway...different driving experience altogether. It wasn't quiet, not incredibly comfortable. Not uncomfortable, it just didn't feel as solid as the Pilot. the guy was chatting us up and found out that we were also looking at the Pilot and spend the next 10 minutes bagging on how bad the Pilot was. He did not once tell us anything about the Traverse.

Here's my favorite part...our youngest son (6 at the time) was with us on these test drives. About 1/2 of the way through the test drive he leans over, looks him in the eye and says "Connor, so which car do you like better? The Traverse or the Pilot".

Connor very calmly looks back as him and says "The Pilot". I laughed pretty hard. Poor guy. I informed him the age-old addage...don't ask a question you don't know the answer to.

So we get back to the lot and I asked about seeing a car with leather seats, etc...obviously I'm not going to make my decision by driving a pinto. He takes us over to another Traverse which is about to go out on another test drive for someone else...the thing is fully loaded. No, it didn't have the 8 passenger configuration....but it was much nicer than the pinto we drove in.

All-in-all, though, the quality was significantly less for a car that was about $2,000 more. Oh, the other thing...when you close the door on the Pilot you get a nice, satisfying "thunk". When I closed the door on the Traverse I felt like it was a tin can closing on itself...with a sound similar to that.

One last thing...on each car they had to list how much of the car was made in the US. The pilot was 70% made in the USA...I figured the Traverse would be much more...but to my surprise it was 60%. Who knew?

I know, I know, the profits all go to a Japanese car company...so that % really doesn't mean a whole lot...and I'm sure there are some very happy Traverse owners out there...so please don't take offense.

But my cheese balls are eaten in a Pilot. And I recommend it. :thumbsup2

Congrats! It is NOT easy. I tried just about every form of cessation program or product and nothing worked for me. One day I just said "I quit"... and never picked up another one. Cold turkey. Still get an urge every once in a while.

I think we need to make Josh an honorary member... anyone want to second this motion?
Quit the same way 13 years ago! Dont have any cravings. Cant stand the smell now, makes my lungs hurt

HERE HERE I second, third and fourth the motion! Although technically he is a Disdad. He has a daughter which would make him a Dad, he has a Disney Obsessed BIL and Sister. He has only been once but was hooked once he rode RnR!!

i got behind one of them on the way home from florida one year on i95. he was in the right lane doing the speed limit. dw is saying, passum, passum!! i follwed him for about 10 miles, i inched up and it was an old man!!!!! :rotfl2:

I have a Black on Black 5.0 GT in my showroom I can sell ya! :cool1:

They are quite Bad a**!
Color is right! Need a 6 speed and a decent price:lmao::lmao::lmao:

I really did looove that car....by far the best handling Mustang I've ever driven..

I've had 3 Mustangs--a 68, 91 GT and 94 GT. Also drove a 93 Notchback as a cop...

The 94 GT was a full on modified race car---it would fly (and it's a good thing I was a cop or I **might** still not have a license:lmao:) but, alas, DW was in Grad School and needed a "good little car" to travel...

So the 94 went...away:sad1::sad1:

I still say she owes me a hot rod...and I'm working on it (especially after Daytona last weekend)...

However, she points out that I have a boat:rolleyes:
I'm getting my '11 V6 mustang (slushbox) back from the dealership today, after the Vandals smashed the windows and caused $3000 worth of paint damage.... What I've learned is that the CAR can go faster than I'm willing to drive it, so, the V6 is plenty (for me.) Also, since the DW "won't" learn how to drive a stick, well, auto was a given.
HOWEVER, I still have a 2011 Mustang w/ 300 HP, so  :thumbsup2

That is what we have. Love it.

And we didn't want to support those Beverly unions, so we bought from the union-less Honda. (Yes, I threw this grenade in the room and I am now running out the door.) :rotfl:
We're rolling in an 07 Grand Caravan at the moment. I would LOVE to upgrade to an Odyssey, but, Consumer Reports says the cheapest way to own a car is to buy it, and drive it into the ground. So, w/ only 38,xxx miles, we'll keep it... for now.

My record for # of people in a tiny car? 7 high school juniors in a Chevette for a 40 mile round trip.
I love my Rain X, and need to apply it to BOTH cars.

And, the Ranger may be going away?!? :sad1: I've always wanted one. Of course, at 6' 5", i'm too tall to drive it comfortably. Well, there's always the Tacoma!
(someone say something about throwing a grenade and running?)

We make parts for alot of auto companies and most "American" cars have less parts made in america then all of the Japanese cars. My Nissan Maxima was made with 87% U.S. parts, 5% Canadian and the tranny and engine block were manufactured in Japan. My in-laws Windstar has only 45% of its parts manufactured in America. Most are done in Mexico, Taiwan, and contract manufacturers in Indonesia but the last part is usually not listed. We ship alot of parts there for Ford so I know they do some of the smaller assembly there.

AH! the good old days of high school! :) Not a care in the world...:thumbsup2

My oldest is only 2 years away from starting that. Scares the crap out of me. :scared1:

I work with a guy who used to have one of the retired police Crown Vics complete with the spotlight outside the driver's side window. He'd drive that thing with a lead foot... would brag about going out and getting drunk and driving because nobody was going to pull him over since it looked like he was a cop.:sad2:

Anyway, this idiot was driving home from work one day running about 75 in a 45 and met a deputy going the opposite direction... he found out that they can and will pull over a retired police car.:thumbsup2

He's since crashed that car, so that's one idiot removed from the driver's seat of a former police cruiser.

They're pretty much onto that now....If you're trying to avoid a ticket, you'd better have police lights and a radio in it!;)

Ha!!! I'm throwing a BS flag on this one based on the number of Left Lane Hawks from PA here in FL....:lmao::lmao:

This time of year, and during the snowbird migration, Road Rage is in full effect...

Drives me nuts, if you're in the left lane, and someone is a half inch off your bumper---move over.......quickly...:rotfl2::rotfl2:

Oh, and passing the State Trooper is NEVER good idea:confused3;):lmao::lmao:
