Oh, and Tim, UConn still sucks
Oh, and Tim, UConn still sucks.
I'm starting to think somebody doesn't like UConn...
:lmao::rotfl::rotfl2:

i'm fine with the concept of work, it's the execution of it that gets a bit tricky.
I know exactly what you mean. I at least have an excuse, I spend all day at my computer with 3 screens... 1 shows me the Chicago Board of Trade, 1 is my access to customer accounts and the third is for e-mail and web browsing, so it makes it easy to keep an eye on things and pop in to post during slow times.

Our plant superintendent does have one guy who works outside that he always says knows a thing or 2 about hard work... he's watched a lot of people do it.:rotfl2:

So I have been missing all the action the last couple days. I was on vacation when I joined. Went back to work on monday, was not able to find any time to get on here untill...lost my job. This made the rest of the day and yesterday very stressfull. This morning got offered a new job and dont start till the 28th so I get to rejoin as a DDC Zombie in a way.
Anyways wanted to tell every one about "my nek of day woods" Around this area it is reffered to as Northwest Arkansas. Most of Arkansas will match what most people think when they think of Arkansas. However Northwest Arkansas is a little different.

We have the University of Arkansas Athletics

We have Walmart Home Office

We Have minor league baseball: NWA Naturals

We have Sams Club Home office

We have great fishing

We have JB Hunt Home Office

We have great mountain view

We have diversity(small amount of locals, large amount of people brought in from around the world to work for the world's largest retailer).

We are 2hrs from Tulsa, OK; 3hrs from Little Rock, AR & Kansas City, MO; 5 hrs from Oklahoma City, OK St. Louis, MO & Memphis, TN.

+2 Internetz for the creative use of "Zombie" in a post:thumbsup2:lmao:

At any rate, I will second your good fishing...I've fished three Bass Cat Owner's Tournaments (Bass Cat is in Mountain Home) and the fishing has been good to excellent---:thumbsup2

:thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2
I agree. I make my living with a knife, needle and thread (and some other cool toys)!

I may, or may not, have been a customer of your kind:lmao::lmao:

Nice bags Garry!

Work......pbbtt...:lmao:

Wow 3 screens... :worship: very cool. Only the IT guys in our company have 3. I have 2, and really love the setup. One is used for switching between internet and quick access to file storage - and on the internet I keep 6 home pages, the DIS being one of them, so it's always there at the ready when I "need" it. The other is for switching between email, customer files and my all of my other applications - a 3rd one sure would come in handy.

Working at home is much more frustrating. While I love doing it (yesterday was an at home day...hence more posts than when I'm not at home) - I only have a single monitor there. I need to get a 2nd one there as well.

It seems like for a lot of people technology and globalisation has changed what work is. Too often its not something that you can site down at for 8 hours crank away and be done. If your dealing with people in other countries or your carrying a handy mobile device you may find yourself working at all hours. If you spend most of your time staring at screens, it doesn't take much time to flip over here and post a note or two.

And yes I too have screen envy, of your 3 screen setup.

That's the great thing about my job... we run from 7:30 to 5:00, anything we do has to be turned into our brokers by 5:00 or it has to wait until the next day. Also, the company didn't provide me with a cell phone, and I'm not going to just voluntarily give my personal cell phone out to everybody, so I'm pretty much able to leave my job behind when I walk out the door.

I do have farm related work to take care of after hours, but I honestly enjoy doing that kind of stuff more. I'm a hands on type of guy who hates math and somehow I sit behind a desk working with numbers...

In college I remember telling my dad that there was no way I was going to do anything with computers professionally, and that the time I spent getting a minor in CS at his urging, was a big waste. :scared1: Yeah that hasn't come back to haunt me at all....

For the topic of 'what to do in your area', here are a few things to do around my area:

- NFL Football - the oft hated Dallas Cowboys (and the new 'Death Star' stadium that Jerry Jones built)
- MLB Baseball - Texas Rangers (the 2011 World Series was here!)
- NBA Basketball - Dallas Mavericks (maybe we will win a championship this year)
- NHL Hockey - Dallas Stars (they are not too Peanut Butter-y)
- Horse Racing - Lone Star Park (never been there yet)
- College sports - TCU and SMU
- NASCAR and other racing - Texas Motor Speedway

- Six Flags over Texas
- Multiple water parks
- Casinos (a few within a few hours' drive)
- Fort Worth Museum of Science and History (has a domed Omni IMAX theater)
- Fort Worth Zoo (ranked as a Top 5 Zoo in the Nation)
- Dallas Zoo (not too shabby)

- Cabela's
- Bass Pro Shop
- Legoland Discovery Center ( scheduled to open March 30, 2011)
- Historical Fort Worth Stockyards
- GM Factory

- Foodies: the DFW area supposedly has one of the highest ratios of restaurants per capita in the country.
- BBQ - Texas BBQ is mainly a slightly sweet/spicy vinegar-based sauce and lots of beef (brisket), but most places still do the typical pork, pork ribs, sausage, turkey, and chicken.
- Steaks - Bob's Steak and Chop House, Del Frisco Double Eagle Steakhouse, Ruth's Chris, etc.

Dallas and Fort Worth are about 30 miles apart, but the way the suburbs and Arlington and Grand Prairie all intertwine - it is like one big metropolitan area (called the Metroplex.)

The difference between Dallas and Fort Worth: Dallas is more 'big city' hustle and bustle and hoity-toity, while Fort Worth is more laid back and slower paced.

Glad you had a good anniversary!

And I hear that all of Delaware is a flood plain :scared1::scared1: Anyone heard from Mark? I saw him post on another board today (TR), so he's probably okay.

I really need to take the two screen plunge, but we might burn through even more pages

I can help with that!

Ok Doc tell us the secret, how does one get the perfect Buzz score. We'll keep it between us!

- NASCAR and other racing - Texas Motor Speedway

I'll be there April 9th for the Sprint Cup race!
:banana::yay::woohoo:

By the way... if anyone has ever been there, can you see all the way around the track if you sit in the lower section across from the pits?

There are cheat video's online that show the point values of different targets. In particular it calls out the locations of the 100,000 point targets. Knowing where those targets are seems to make maxing out your score much easier. In the video's people were maxing out their score in the second room.

I need to figure this out before our trip, and no, I won't be telling my wife about it until after she sees my score. :lmao::rotfl2:
