Does anyone around here work?

I come home in the evening only to find another 150 posts.

This has to be the fastest growing thread I've been on.

Work? It's March Madness. What's work?

thats awesome, looks like on the schedule they wont be at the two airshows we go to...

the gary IN show which is usually in july, and the chicago air show, which i think is aug.

is there more than one blue angel team that does shows?

Unfortunately, no, only one team.

looks like they will be coming our way in July (Ypsilanti). I'll have to take the kids.

My son isn't scheduled for the Ypsilanti show. He has a weird schedule: he has 25 of the 35 shows but he has no shows scheduled for a 2-month period from late July until mid-September. He might try to come home on leave for a week or so during that time period. The shows during that period will be handled by the other Crew Chief for the #1 jet. He is more senior so he got his choice of shows this year.

That is soo awesome! I would be so proud! I am proud to know someone that has a son that works with the navies finest! I am an ex submariner stationed on the Whale and then the Atlanta then stationed on the John C Stennis a carrier out of Norfolk. They moved to california and i got out. I loved watching the jets flying at 150 mph hit the deck and just stop! Its a rush being so close and watching them land.

Congrats on having such a great son!

Thanks! We are very proud of him! We thought it was great that his previous command even considered recommending him for this. It's hard to even describe how we felt when he was actually selected to be a Crew Chief! I'm a Navy vet from 1971-1975. I was a RM stationed at NCS Guam for 3 years, mostly as a CW operator. My dad was a GM during WWII so we have a Naval history in our family. In addition to the great news about the Blues, David also received word last week that he is receiving his 2nd NAM Award from his previous command in MD. He's having quite a career so far.

Congratulations Dave and Tammy!!!! :cool1::banana:

I've come up with the T-shirt design that I'm going to try to order from vistaprint. The total came to $12.59 including uploading the graphic and 7 day shipping. Not bad! I decided to go with one-sided to save some money.

So I have been missing all the action the last couple days. I was on vacation when I joined. Went back to work on monday, was not able to find any time to get on here untill...lost my job. This made the rest of the day and yesterday very stressfull. This morning got offered a new job and dont start till the 28th so I get to rejoin as a DDC Zombie in a way.
Anyways wanted to tell every one about "my nek of day woods" Around this area it is reffered to as Northwest Arkansas. Most of Arkansas will match what most people think when they think of Arkansas. However Northwest Arkansas is a little different.

We have the University of Arkansas Athletics

We have Walmart Home Office

We Have minor league baseball: NWA Naturals

We have Sams Club Home office

We have great fishing

We have JB Hunt Home Office

We have great mountain view

We have diversity(small amount of locals, large amount of people brought in from around the world to work for the world's largest retailer).

We are 2hrs from Tulsa, OK; 3hrs from Little Rock, AR & Kansas City, MO; 5 hrs from Oklahoma City, OK St. Louis, MO & Memphis, TN.

Shouldn't be any issues with Vistaprint. Mine shipped monday. :)

I opened a door for a lady to day at work. I told her that chivalry was'nt dead it was just a little lazier. I used this to open the door for her:

We are a week ahead of you. Will probably drive up Saturday morning, stay off site and check into BLT Sunday morning (3-13). Unless we do the college visit thing we will drive back Tuesday morning.

I would not worry about dining out with the kids. DD and I got into a food fight at the California Grill and no one said anything. Maybe it was because at another table a kid hurled cheese balls all over the place. They were escorted out (OK, I am getting a little punchy from lack of sleep). It was a smart idea however to prep them with the fancy dinner. Good choice of music.

Glad you like the Keys. No place in the US like it. There is a good restaurant in Key Largo that is built over the water. Glass viewing areas all around. They give you oatmeal to pour down a tube to feed the fishes. Pretty cool watching the feeding frenzy.

A shot of a friend of mine. Too bad the scuba diver got in the way.

Different turtle that was rescued because he could not submerge. They named it OD after the dive operation (Ocean Divers). Last I heard he was still at the sanctuary.

And I must also confess that I am a map taker. Going in AND coming out. They get stuffed with other trip paraphernalia in various boxes in the attic.

Thanks for the encouragement on the kids and dinner. The manners lessons were actually for something my son was doing at school, although I hope they'll remember some of it on the cruise.

The turtle picks are awesome. I've never seen one in the water like that. Haven't spent much time in Key Largo, we usually spend time from Marathon South.

Whoa whoa WHOA there potty mouth! This is a wholesome family environment we have here. You can take that kind of trash mouth over to one of those less respectable boards like that DVC one!!

Photobucket is a client, so its really stretching it but I can technically count getting people to post pics as work. By the way I'd like to thank everyone on this thread, thanks to you my family can afford the good bacon. :thumbsup2

So I just realized that you can view people's average posts per day when you click on their profile.

Stopher how in the world have you averaged 9 posts a day for the last 3 years. That is amazing. Is it really you posting or do you have a post-i-nator?

Hey, hey now there Mark... you're getting a little bit of a potty mouth yourself now. Watch it. I think you meant to say the Budget Boards, yeah, that's it.

Well it IS an average, afterall. Take that 250 or so to shut down DDC VI, and then you see there actually ARE days that I don't even get on here. Then of course there are those days that I get on here entirely too much. :rotfl: And there you have it.

I want to Thank everyone for your kind thoughts & prayers during this rough time:grouphug:

We did tell my son, we used Barry's suggestion, I guess since he goes to a Catholic school they must touch on the subject, as we were explaining he figured it out:littleangel:

Now I would like to do something for my Grandparents, since they never visited WDW but wanted to, do they still have name plates at Epcot, or bricks somewhere I could get thier names on, at least they could be there in spirit:goodvibes

I get the average piece it just seems very impressive. After 3 years even a 250 post day doesn't do much to your average post count, though. That is an awful lot of knowledge to pass on.

(internal monologue) Okay, Garry. Just post it. If you take a ribbing, you take a ribbing, but you should be proud of your work. A lot of guys sew, so just put it out there!

Hey dad's check out the awesome drawstring bags that I made for my daughter and a friends son who is going to WDW with us in May! I wanted a bag their size (they are 5) for the parks, but couldn't find what I was looking for. After some thought and a few how to Youtube videos, I made a stop at the craft store and broke out the wife's sewing machine. Here's what happened!
