I went to visit my Grandmother in ICU this morning, I'm glad I did, dhe has since passed:littleangel:

I am very sad but not mad, she was 90 and lived a full active life, I'm sure my Grandparents have been reunited.

I don't know how I'm going to explain it to my son, or if he will even understand:confused3

Sorry for your loss. It's always tough...even when it's expected.

Welcome!! :thumbsup2

What part of the state/ There are a few fellow hoosiers on here.
thanks, northwest corner.
about 40 minutes from chicago.

As a Cardinals fan (I can see Busch Stadium from my office) I take offence to comparison to the Yankees. The Cards aren't trying to buy championships, and the business w/ the Reds was (I hope) isolated to last season. I think this year baseball, not drama, will dominate headlines.:grouphug:
i would never put another team in with the hate for the yankees....they are tops on all sports teams as ones i do not like.

i actually like the city of the great arch, just dont like the the cards. but i would still be friends with you.:thumbsup2

last time i was in there was for the final four about 6 years ago. it was alot of fun.

Welcome back! I've seen you on some of the Trip Reports I've been reading. And I like your addition to the qualifications! I'll have to talk to the missus... :lmao:

get the park ticket discount, and discounts on the stores.:thumbsup2 and i think food as well.

All right Dis Dads I am coming here for help. I have planned a surprise trip for my daughter (5) and myself for the end of June. Booked CBR but not sure that is the best moderate choice for single parent with daughter in tow. Size wise will it be too much? Food selection?

We stayed at CSR in December and really liked everything about it except the bus service. Am I crazy for trying something different or is there a better moderate resort for a daddy/daughter trip?

Our trip in Oct will be our second stay at CBR. Love this place!! The beaches with the hammocks and the sand,,,the sand is amazing. Disney actually imports it from Castaway Keys. The feel of it as you step on it barefooted is really neat. The new pirate themed pool is amazing as well. The food court and the restaurant there is pertty awesoke as well. ITs close to parks and has its own busses so there is hardly a wait for them. Stay here and you wont be disappointed I garauntee it.

I think that's pretty much a universal thought unless you live in New York. My two most hated are the Yankees and Ohio State:headache:

Welcome btw;)

Mike, any idea if the Angels will be stopping in Miami? I am pretty sure they will be in the Broward (Ft. Lauderdale) air show but did not see anything for Miami.
I don't think so. I know they will be doing around 3 shows in Pensacola this year (their home base) as well as a show in Lakeland, FL, in a few weeks and Jacksonville in November. Here is a link to their 2011 and 2012 schedule pages: http://www.blueangels.navy.mil/schedules.htm

Hmmm.. You keep talking about the blue angels.. Is your son affiliated with them? Just curious.
Yep! He started a 3-year tour with them in November. He is an AO2 with almost 5 years in the Navy and he will be one of two Crew Chiefs for the Blues' Commanding Officer, "Boss Koss", and the #1 jet! We will get our first chance to see him at the Airshow in Millville, NJ, over Memorial Day weekend. Go Blues!

now for the bad news, good friends of ours, i grew up with her and dated her sister in high school, son, whos 11, just found out he has thyroid cancer. they took him to philly today for alot more test. his oldest sisiter dances with my daughter. his name is john. if you can put him on your list, the little man could use it.:thumbsup2

On the list and prayed for. Sheesh... 11??

the gary IN show which is usually in july, and the chicago air show, which i think is aug.

is there more than one blue angel team that does shows?

I'm sure we can all share in your loss. Our sympathies that she has passed but we are all happy she led a long, eventful life!

Ahem. A number of you (you know who you are) committed to helping produce content for DISDads.com, and haven't written anything yet. I posted on Friday and again on Monday. We could really use a midweek post. It doesn't need to be of epic length. Just something to help keep the page fresh. Any volunteers. Anyone, anyone ... Bueller, anyone?

Unless someone beats me to it, I'll do something tonight.

I need to finish my TR there...just didn't get anything done while I was preparing for an interview today. Now that's over, so I'll see what I can do...

So sorry for your loss, Ron.
It's never easy to predict how children will handle things like this. Mine have been through 4 major losses in about 3 years (our dog, my mom, my grandmother and DW's grandfather). We explained what death was and said that it's OK to be sad and miss the person, but don't be sad that they died. In each case the person (or dog) had been sick and getting slowly worse. We explained that doctors and medicine can only help people so much. Sometimes doctors can't make someone better. When that happens, God sends Angels down to bring that person (or dog) to heaven, when God makes them feel better.

This can also be entertaining in the right setting. Say, if the baby belongs to first-time parents who previously criticized your parenting skills before having a child of their own. Not that this has ever happened before. :rolleyes1
Hey, didn't your brother just have his first child?:confused3:confused3:rotfl2::rotfl2:

well, today is tammy and i 26th anniversary. she said make sure im home and dressed at 5pm tonight???? i guess that leaves out one thing but sounds like im going out to eat.:woohoo:

Happy Anniversary Dave!
