Wishing a Happy Birthday to my nemesis(AJRitz) sounds kind of weird. Then again, there is no light without the dark, no Yin without the Yang, etc.

I guess what I'm trying to say is:

If Sloth and Chunk can find common ground, so can we.

Happy Birthday!!

I'm ready for Kentucky to be out of the tournament. I've heard it once or twice over the past couple of weeks, but today I've had 3 different people tell me I look like this guy:

Why does it have to be a Kentucky player????? :sad2:

CURSE YOU NEW NEMESIS!!!!! (Shakes an angry fist at picture)

So I call the DW and let her know I picked up our copy of "Tangled" for our girls. Previously we had talked about saving the presentation of the movie to our girls until the day we leave for our Florida trip - 17 days from now.

She says..."So do you want us to wait for you before we watch it?" Since I haven't seen it. They had all gone to the theater twice to see it themselves and have been re-living it everyday by singing the soundtrack in the car.

So I say "I thought we decided to wait until before vacation?" Her response "Well I know as soon as they see it, they're going to want to watch it." then a pause...."And I know as soon as I see it sitting there, I'm going to want to watch it to!"

Truth be told...The DW is as excited as the girls to see it - so no surprise before vacation. :)

I cant't wait to see it again myself. That's the theme for my DDs bday party this weekend.

Holy Peanut Butter - you do! I guess it could be worse, you could look like Mike Bruesewitz

I'm already familiar with the story myself even without seeing the movie....I've read the hard back children's book of 40 pages or so to both my girls multiple times. Leaves my mouth dry after I'm finished which forces me to wet my whistle with a little of Kentucky's finest Bourbon! ;)

It was going to be my theme for my birthday too, but I choose to go with the Rambo theme.

Prattpak: "OK kids! Time for party games!"
Kids: "Yay! We want to play pin the tail on the donkey!"
PrattPak: "Maybe later. Right now, we're going to play ignite the gunpowder in an open wound!"

That used to be such a fun game, but my wife has ruined it for me!

I got raked across the eye last week playing basketball so I kind of went from having a slight resemblance to him to having a slight resemlence to him and a similar eye injury. Yes, Bruesewitz comparisons would be worse, I just wish I could play like either one of them.

I'm gonna butt in here for a moment and ask for some prayer.

Come Friday my family is going gluten free. While it's a wise decision for my wife who had all sorts of issues and while I am willingly subjecting not only myself but my kids as well to this in an act of solidarity, it will be extremely difficult as we're all big fans of food that tastes good. :sad1:

Until then, however, we're in a gluten binge! :woohoo:

Lessee - I had fresh pita on Friday and Saturday, quesadillas yesterday, and pancakes for lunch today. Now to find more stuff I can't eat. The hard thing is that I guess I've already been doing it. Once I looked at our normal dinner meals (usually some combination of rice, corn, pork, and a custom sauce made of Chinese 5-spice, clove, cinnamon, sriracha, honey, salt, pepper, ginger, and/or garlic) - all of that is gluten free. BAH! I didn't even know it.

The one main thing I'm going to miss, however will probably be the double chocolate espresso cookies that I only make during the month of December. Or pie. Or bagels. I think that's about it.

Any of y'all have celiac or on a gf diet for some reason or another?

As an aside, any of y'all foodies? I've spent most of the day researching a diy immersion circulator/cooker so I can sous vide me up some fancy vittles.

- Where'd you get the coconuts?
- We found them.
- Found them? In Mercia? The coconut's tropical.
- What do you mean?
- Well this is a temperate zone.
- The swallow may fly south with the sun, or the house marten or plover may seek warmer climes in winter, yet these are not strangers to our land.
- Are you suggesting coconuts migrate?

Good luck with this, but I can tell you after a while it really won't be that bad. My sister has a gluten allergy and hasn't been able to eat it for several years. I've never been totally gluten free myself, but over the years, my mom has made a lot of gluten free dishes that I got to taste myself. It takes some searching, and in some cases trial and error, but there are some pastas out there that are gluten free and delicious, as well as breads and desserts. My mom has tried so many different flours and ingredients over the years that she has gluten free baking down to an art. We had a family gathering a few weeks ago that my mom made gluten free brownies for. My sister took a bite of one and refused to eat anymore because she swore there was no way they were gluten free. Good luck!:thumbsup2
