I think if I had to work because someone else was lazy and pretending to be sick my head would explode!!!:scared1:

Trying not to explode. :confused3 What are you going to do besides keep repeating the serenity prayer...

Plus, I would have had to come into work at 5pm anyway and it gets me out of the house with the inlaws visiting!

Also on the upside, the streaming video site (rhymes with byes on gears) has streaming video of the polynesian tonight! popcorn::

Been shoveling since 10am almost done:scared1: Waiting for the plows to block driveway again:mad: We were the ones on the news that got the 30+ inches:eek: I can't stand it anymore I'm really thinking it's about time to move more south:confused3

Yeah, that's how it works, isn't it?? Go out there and just bust your rear all day shoveling, only to have it undone in 30 seconds by the plow. Frustrating, that's for sure. I had to re-shovel our muuuuuuch less snow today after the huge winds we had last night drifted everything right were I had shoveled.

I just received noticed that my snow blower has shipped....now that the snow is nearly gone here!!...Anyone up north want to rent it :rotfl2:

What is this "snow" you speak of?

Its the trade off for not having to deal with 120+ degree summers. Totally worth it to me. :rotfl2:

Touche. :p

Edit: Althogh 120+ is a little bit of an exaggeration. The all time record hot day for Tucson is 117. The typical summer day is 100-105 or so.

I don't see the big deal about the heat in the south. I live in an air-conditioned house, drive in an air-conditioned car to my office, which is air-conditioned. The only heat you encounter is walking to and from the car.

Up north it is not quite the opposite (heaters in home, car, office) because of all the snow removal you have to do to get to and from the vehicle. And not to mention the dangerous driving conditions in the winter. It's not too dangerous to drive in the heat - unless you have no a/c. :)

Greetings Dads! I'm sitting here on my balcony @ VGC overlooking Paradise Pier at DCA watching World of Color.

We enjoyed DCA yesterday. DTD today, as well as the pool, grilling, etc, and go to DL tomorrow. Hope you are all well. We'll be back to IN for the new year. Be back on here in a few days.

I've got an old Garmin (GPSMAP 60CS) and really like it. The Dakota looks like a nice unit and perfect for what you are using it for. If you want to upgrade, they have one called the Oregon that looks awesome. If it's of any help, the Garmin website has a tool that can help you pick the product that would best suit your needs.

Nice gift! :thumbsup2
I Googled it and it looks like a very nice unit. We use a Magellan Explorist 210 for Geocaching and that works well for us. We've been caching for about 6 or 7 years, I guess. Have fun! If you are ever in the Easton area, look up Team SAR-Dogs' caches.

Hey guys!

I didn't get a chance to post anything on Christmas day but I did want to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy Holiday, or for all the Phillies Phans Merry Cliffmas and Happy Halladay's!

I have a question that I am hoping that someone can help me out with. I have wanted a handheld GPS for a while now for Geocaching, hiking, fishing etc. QUOTE]

Just did some geocaching today at lunch. I use my blackberry storm2 with Trimble's Geocaching app. Found a geocoin that has travelled from Denmark to Colorado since 2007 and has now logged 16601 miles. Had to get another before the snow hits us FINALLY at the end of the week.

What Geocaching website do you guys use to get the coordinates?

I lived in Louisiana for two years. It got nippy sometimes in the winter but not like in PA. I would move back south if I could, I can handle the hot / humid summers much better then the cold winters.

Usually I can say something like that, but man it's cold down here right now:guilty:

Hope all you guys up north are digging out safely:thumbsup2

Fishing buddy of mine got transferred to Buffalo...went house hunting in the summer...came back and told me about all the houses he found with electrical outlets by the driveway so you could "charge your boat"...I told him "dude, I don't think that's what those are for". He called me back about mid January and told me--you're right, those plugs are for engine block heaters....he was ticked:lmao::lmao: He also had never seen snow before---talk about culture shock:rotfl2:

Been in and out the past few days but finally off for a bit (was on call over the holidays).....now I can play:woohoo::woohoo:

I have several "noise making and distraction" devices that need to be set off or destroyed....guess it's going to be a loud New Year's this year:lmao::lmao:

ETA

*Finally another Ownage*:lmao:

geocaching.com is the best. You can sign up for free or pay to get the premeir caches. I do the free cause im a mizer and it gives me MORE than enough caches to find. My trimble gives me those anyway. Its an easy site to navigate and if it isnt easy then you'll never be able to find the caches anyway! :rotfl:
I just found a geocoin yesterday that started in 2007 in Denmark and has logged over 16,601 miles to get to Colorado. Very impressive coin. Have fun with it. Let me know if you have any other questions! Happy caching!

Hey guys,

Hope you're all having a great week. Apparently many places got lots of snow over the weekend. We were predicted to get 6-10" and ended up with barely an inch or two. I want to be a weatherman when I grow up.

Our Christmas was great, and I'm looking to make today my only work day of the week, which is also great. Hope you guys are enjoying some family time as well. :goodvibes

DW and I saw True Grit last night. Holy smokes, that was awesome! I actually want to read the original novel now. A movie has to be pretty good if it makes me want to pick up a book.

We saw that film yesterday as well and also thought they did a good job with the story line and character development. I go out to see very few movies, but I’d recommend this one. I’ve always liked the original film but figured that this darker version of the story would be interesting. It was.

I really, really want to see that one. You guys are just adding to my anticipation now!

Well Day 2 of no work due to snow (unplowed roads anyway), still no plows in sight, someone on my block said they heard Wed before a plow hits our road:confused3 It's the last week of the year, all vac, sick, and personal time is used for the year, with 4 days to go to get almost 6weeks combined time for the year, it looks like these days off are freebies:mad:

Morning DisDads!! Merry (late) CHristmas!!! Sorry wasnt here this weekend to say Merry Christmas was to engrossed with the kids in Epic Mickey. What a sweet game that is!.
My daughter got me a new Disney watch. She went online and customized it, designed it, and paid for it out of her own money.
