man, im glad page 132 is gone, to much farting!!!:lmao: if you notice, i was second again on 133.:lmao:

Why haven't I discovered this thread before? Thanks to the podcast this week. I'm a Disney Dad and that's just a fact. Glad to see there are others out there. And I'm happy to join the club.

Welcome!

The entire text of an email sent by yours truly on Wednesday to two co-workers, after they took just a little too much glee in pointing out a grammatical error I had made:
"I Faaaaaart in your general direction."

True Story.

I stole your pins-in-the-map thing. Lets call it even.

Deal. I was going to use that Monty Python taunt at some point for smack talk in the fantasy football league. It's just too good not to use.

To be fair, they did mention the DisDads' fundraising for GKTW right up front. It seems to me that Pete got caught up in the introductory stuff in the first few posts - the stuff about what makes us DisDads and the like - and didn't really get into the content of the thread itself (which, to be fair, is already at 132 pages and nearly 2000 posts - in VOLUME FIVE). What's really too bad is that he apparently didn't read Captain_Oblivious' 1000th post before they went to air. That post, as much as anything else, is really what the Dis Dads Club is all about.

What do you say Mark - would you mind if I quoted your 1000th post in the thread on the DisUnplugged board about the show that mentioned the DDC?

Sure, go ahead. I'm honored that you guys thought so highly of it.

I haven't listened to the podcast, so I can't really comment on it. But obviously, we're pretty secure here. We love Disney World, are not afraid to admit it, and don't really care what anybody else thinks. That seems manly to me. :cool2:

In the words of the late great Yoda, "My finger, pull" ...WAIT Wrong quote!
I second the vote on using that post to send. And if we all need to write one IM IN!

You know, if we play our cards right, this whole podcast thing could be as big of a recruitment tool as any man card thread ever could be.:cool1::thumbsup2:goodvibes

Well I think it was cool having the DDC mentioned. :cool1:

However... I wish I'd known it was on the email podcast and not the regular one. I wasted an hour of my day listening to the regular one and then just shrugged wondering where in the world the thread had been mentioned. Only after seeing DEA's breakdown of what was said did I know I'd done something wrong. So I went back and listened to another 35 minutes or so before it was all said and done. I don't normally care for podcasts, but this one was pretty good.

Just stopping in again....the latest podcast\disboards show made me think of this thread\these threads. :thumbsup2

While I don't post in here often, glad to know it's alive and kickin', and I do read pretty much. Always makes me feel good to know there are other guys out there like myself, who love Disney as much as I do! :goodvibes

(Signed, straight\married with children\male Disney lover) ;)

Too true! We just got back a week ago from 10 nights at AKL, and I am SERIOUSLY going through "PDDS". (Post Disney Depression Syndrome). :)

My wife and I were just discussing a possible spring trip, or, maybe, just maybe, finally biting the bullet on DVC next year. :thumbsup2 Either way, at least I have my one yearly trek scheduled and "locked" in for August. But MAN, that is a LOOOONNNNGGGG time away! ;)

I don't like the fact that they took our Dis Dads Club and turned it into a "straight/gay" talk show. But since they did
No it is not harder to be a straight guy and love Disney
I think they missed the boat with their perception of the club.To me this club has nothing to do with Straight/Gay so I cant figure out why they even went there. What they should have talked about is that there are hundreds of "fathers" hence the tag "Dad",that have a love for "Walts Dream". We would like to keep Walts dream of a family place alive.
There are many other things about our DDC that they could have touched base on.
Like how a diverse group of Dads can get together and discuss Disney without being ashamed of it.
Like how a bunch of dads can get together and give to those who are less fortunate( KTTW).
Like how in this day and age the are Dads out there that still try to install family values in their kids.

I could go on and on about things they could have touched base on othere then going where they did.I dont know how many of you agree with me but I am sure there is many!!!!
I think this podcast may require a response from the Dads that feel the same way I do.I you feel the sameway about the podcast let ban together and let them know!!!

Ok...how did this get to be a gay/straight thing??

Obviously I didn't hear it, so I'm only responding to reactions...however (Comma space:lmao:) they must've made a relatively big deal out of it. I hope not as they will REALLY, REALLY REALLY REALLY have missed the point of our happy band of miscreants. It's an US thing. We love our families and our kids. We all happen to be straight...ok.

Are only gay men supposed to like Disney? I must've missed that in the literature:lmao::lmao:

Ok, my name is Michael, and I'm a straight family man who likes Disney....how's that!!! :confused3:rotfl2: Any questions?

Now. Tell me again what the Magic, as I believe it to relate to me...has anything to do with me being straight and not gay?

Gay/Straight?? THat never even occurred to me as a potential dividing line for a man to enjoy Disney. Not that there's anything wrong with that.

Truthfully, I enjoy it because I enjoy it. My wife loves Disney too so that is something we have in common. I also enjoy seeing my kids' reaction to Disney and my memories of their first trip are very special to me. Does that make me less of a man?

I also enjoy football, baseball, ice hockey, drinking a beer, Blazing Saddles, girls with large chests, Fantasy sports, and video games. Sue me.

Been off today and out running errands and just read the gay/straight thing....sheesh!

Why do things always have to become about things that they have nothing to do with...gay or straight...black or white...leave it at the door of the DDC...All I care about is that we all love our kids and seeing the looks on their faces as we enter Main Street or any of the other Disney Parks. Disney is not only a place but it is an experience. It is indeed the happiest place on Earth! That's all I got to say about that... :thumbsup2

Well, it is finally here!! It is GameDay!!:banana::cheer2::cheer2: We Are......MARSHALL!!!!:cheer2::cheer2: Gettin ready to drop the kids off at Nanna and Pap's and head to the tailgating!!! Hoping to finally kick some WVU butt!!:cheer2::cheer2::cheer2:

LET'S BRING THE HERD!!!!:cheer2::cheer2:

Watch it on ESPN tonight and Shari and I will wave at you!:woohoo::yay:

See you guys after the game!!!:cool1:
