To be fair, they did mention the DisDads' fundraising for GKTW right up front. It seems to me that Pete got caught up in the introductory stuff in the first few posts - the stuff about what makes us DisDads and the like - and didn't really get into the content of the thread itself (which, to be fair, is already at 132 pages and nearly 2000 posts - in VOLUME FIVE). What's really too bad is that he apparently didn't read Captain_Oblivious' 1000th post before they went to air. That post, as much as anything else, is really what the Dis Dads Club is all about.
What do you say Mark - would you mind if I quoted your 1000th post in the thread on the DisUnplugged board about the show that mentioned the DDC?
I didn't hear the podcast so I am going off everyone's take.I don't like the fact that they took our Dis Dads Club and turned it into a "straight/gay" talk show. But since they did
No it is not harder to be a straight guy and love Disney
I think they missed the boat with their perception of the club.To me this club has nothing to do with Straight/Gay so I cant figure out why they even went there. What they should have talked about is that there are hundreds of "fathers" hence the tag "Dad",that have a love for "Walts Dream". We would like to keep Walts dream of a family place alive.
There are many other things about our DDC that they could have touched base on.
Like how a diverse group of Dads can get together and discuss Disney without being ashamed of it.
Like how a bunch of dads can get together and give to those who are less fortunate( KTTW).
Like how in this day and age the are Dads out there that still try to install family values in their kids.
I could go on and on about things they could have touched base on othere then going where they did.I dont know how many of you agree with me but I am sure there is many!!!!
I think this podcast may require a response from the Dads that feel the same way I do.I you feel the sameway about the podcast let ban together and let them know!!!
That was a great write-up of how most of us feel... I'm sure. What do you say Mark - would you mind if I quoted your 1000th post in the thread on the DisUnplugged board about the show that mentioned the DDC?
However... I wish I'd known it was on the email podcast and not the regular one. I wasted an hour of my day listening to the regular one and then just shrugged wondering where in the world the thread had been mentioned. Only after seeing DEA's breakdown of what was said did I know I'd done something wrong. So I went back and listened to another 35 minutes or so before it was all said and done. I don't normally care for podcasts, but this one was pretty good.
You OWNED 2 of the last three pages.... what more do you want?IM GIVING UP!!!![]()
Been off today and out running errands and just read the gay/straight thing....sheesh!
Why do things always have to become about things that they have nothing to do with...gay or straight...black or white...leave it at the door of the DDC...All I care about is that we all love our kids and seeing the looks on their faces as we enter Main Street or any of the other Disney Parks. Disney is not only a place but it is an experience. It is indeed the happiest place on Earth! That's all I got to say about that...![]()
A beer?? Just one??
Light Weight![]()
I am glad to see you posted it over on the unplugged forum.![]()
I looked over there, and I couldn't find it. Got a link?![]()

I don't hate on any gay people... more power to them, but how did the Dis DAD's Club turn into any discussion about being gay or straight? What does that have to do with US posting about our love for Disney and all the other on topic/off topic stuff?
I don't think that anyone here cares what religion, race, affluence, creed, nationality, weight, hair color, shoe size any of our other members are/have. If any of these items are brought up there is a civilized discussion with no flaming. I think this thread and the Wish Trippers thread could quite possibly be the only two threads on these boards without the drama. We are here to discuss our LOVE for Disney and other DAD issues.
If anyone wanted to start a thread on the Podcast board, I'd be there voicing my opinion as well. (Who knows, maybe there is one started already?)

I didn't even realize there was an email one. LOL

HOly HAnnah! Me too!
your gutt, that has become a problem also since 40.I'll let you know....when I hit 45, LOL. (Although the big 43 is only a week or so away for me)! For me, it's not eh, so much the shoe size that concerns me, but other things that appear to possibly be growing.![]()
hurry up Dave next post owns the next page
never mind I was to late in getting this out lol
First of all:CRUD!
Second of all, I ahve no problem being looked at a MAnly Man type complete with a un-natural like of All things Disney. All I know is it makes me feel good to watch my Offspring while in the DW and see how much they love the place. It takes about 10 minutes and I'm 8 years old again and I'm having a ball.
So there is no gay straight issue in regards to Disney. It kinda cut across gender and sexuality lines. It just...IS.
Hi Disney Dad here and have been since my first born in 1986..
I agree lets keep Walt's Dream alive forever.
