Anyone interested in a more low key, old-fashioned football pick-em tournament? Personally, I can't keep up with the fantasy football stuff. Between following you guys on facebook and the DIS boards, nevermind my own family...

As far as cars.. I'm a closet environmental geek.. I drive a Nissan Frontier '02.. but secretly want a Nissan Leaf.. my wife says all cars like that (Prius, Leaf, etc..) are all too "wussy".. and I need to keep my image up with a gas guzzling TRUCK! Your thoughts???

Well now come time for the CRUD I plugged it in to show my son ( cause I was giving him the laptop)and he got excited.Well now it was time for me to finish assembling the thing. Well stupid me never unplugged the darn thing and I hit the mother board with my screw driver , and guess what? YEP I hit it just right to cause it to spark up and burn out!!!!!! A little spark some smoke and poof .

There’s a company called HCDI Trading out on the web that sells refurbished laptops, desktops, monitors and parts. They buy gear form businesses, clean them up, replace any faulty parts and resell them at some pretty good prices. Often they come with the operating system installed as well. Every P/C in my house (and there are many) came from them and I’ve never paid more then $300 for any of it. They may not have exactly what you’re looking for, but you might find something that comes very close.

Image? What’s an image? Sounds like something politicians and celebrities need to be concerned about (which is sad). It’s a funny thing that for a country which places individuality on a pedestal, we’re also are real quick to attack anyone or anything that dares to stray form the norm. I say follow your beliefs. Being true to yourself is an image that I can live with. Besides, if we were all that concerned about our “Man Cards”, we probably wouldn’t be DIS Dads either (and that would be really sad).

Rules are on the site, but in a nutshell, we pick the winners (with the spread) of each pro football game each week. You get a point for each correct pick. Very easy and takes very little time. I'll post a running tally every week.

You'll need a yahoo login (free) if you don't have one already. If you use your DIS boards name as your name, it'll make it easier to mock your picks, I mean, give you credit for your impressive selections!

No money involved, just bragging rights. Picks are due 5 minutes before the start of that game. I set it up to drop the lowest scoring week, so that if you miss a week (away, vacation, etc), you'll still be in the running. We will go through the playoffs.

As GoofyIsAsGoofyDoes said, image means nothing. I think you'd lose the "wussy" label once your wife saw how much more money you had to spend as opposed to wasting it on gas!

This is already a standing rule in our house, but we go one step farther and add garlic (much garlic) to the bacon and cheese. We refer to this super power of food enhancers as the “Unholy Trinity”. Needless to say, I agree.
