Any Dad's live in Hanover County VA, might need some help with contact #'s for Board of Health, Consumer Affairs, Fire Inspector, Code Enforcement & Local Newspaper, Had a really bad stay at the hotel we were at, If I don't hear from Corprate sometime Weds, I'm calling in the whole crew:scared1: I had a 2 day ressie, but 1 nite was way too many:scared1: Had to take the redeye home:scared1: This hotel needs to be shut down.

:thumbsup2Mark, I must say Del. has the best roads that I have traveled on the east coast, most are concrete, no potholes and are a good ride, aren't you in the road Dept. Kudos

Haven't caught up with everyone today, but stopher1 and dvczerf our prayers are with you and your families. We cant do much but prayer is an amazing thing. I have experienced it in my own life and the things that it does not change it provides peace to get through the difficulty. I hope everything works out for both of you and may God bless.

Didnt feel right post this with my prev. I have completed my booking in Feb. and we are there for 8 days. IM READY!!!Started booking my ADRs and have CRT, LeCell, and SciFI. We have not eaten at any of these and was looking for some feed back. LC is a lunch res. I have learned that opinion are like bholes and some stink worse than others. Just looking for some kind of consensus about these restaurants. Opinions welcome

On a cheerier note, Mrs. AJRitz took the kids to the Missouri State Fair yesterday. Scaredy Cat Squeaker is finally warming up to amusement park rides! His favorite was The Bumblebees - a Dumbo-like ride that he said he liked because it went up high

Maybe he'll actually enjoy some rides at Disney after all!

Missouri State Fair? Huh. I guess you can't learn everything that's happening in your own state, but bumblebee rides are awesome.

:scared1:

Don't worry, guys. Free dining is overrated, awful, and a pain in the butt.

And by "overrated, awful, and a pain in the butt", I of course mean "wonderful, fantastic, and a glorious affirmation of all that is good in life." :rotfl2:
We're going and paying for Delux Dining, and frankly, the planning of it is pretty fun. I like the idea of it being "wonderful, fantastic, and a glorious affirmation of all that is good in life." though.

I know this is discussed on countless threads here but I thought I'd try for some DisDad perspective.

In the past I have carried a small one shoulder backpack my daughter got at a cheer competition (it's a nice navy blue and has no flowers or anything if you must know.) It has worked great but is getting a little worn. Also it has only the main compartment, a front flap pocket and a small phone pocket on the strap(which I love.) I am looking for something similar but with maybe a little more organization potential, also slightly larger. The strap is a little tight across my manly shoulders (that's my story and I'm sticking with it!)

I ordered a Baggallini from Amazon after everyone on the board raved about it but it isn't going to work. First it's too small (I like to carry a towel, ponchos and a couple water bottles, sometimes we have our swim suits if we have been to the waterparks) and second it looks WAY too much like a man purse. I've worn shirts with pink Tinkerbelles on them for my daughter but you have to draw the line somewhere.

Anyone have a bag they like that they could recommend?

Thanks
Our toddler diaper bag is a 1 shoulder job similar to what your cheerleading bag is. Of course, we got ours free from the St. Louis Science Center, so I'm not sure how/what/ where you can get one. I probably should have left this one alone...:confused3

We at at Sci Fi drive in theatre WAY back in 2000. Anyone that ate lettuce got sick (weird, right?) but otherwise, it was a pretty fun atmosphere. There were 6 of us, so maybe it'd have been better with fewer, since we'd all have been in one "car."
We have a LeCellier lunch ressie (2, actually) this winter. SOOOOO excited!:woohoo:

Praying for stopher1 and dvczerf. I know it's tough when your loved ones are hurting but hang in there.

Just booked Grand Gathering for my family! March 26-April 1 at POR! No discounts, but that was the only time everyone could make it. 13 of us in 4 rooms. Can't wait 'till 9/27 to make ADRs!:cool1:

Anyone have experience/tips on navigating WDW with a group of this size? All info appreciated.

Our first movie night was a huge success! I have a 6'X8' screen (front & rear projection) that I set up with a powered speaker in the back yard. We ended up with 14 kids and 8 parents.

The movie that we decided on was UP! (which I never seen) It was a hit and a funny movie too! We made popcorn for all the kids and of course the parents had a few adult drinks. Everyone brought blankets and chairs and go settled in for the movie.

Passing out some popcorn with UP! about to start.

Everyone had a great time and we might try to do it again next week!!!!

I spoke with Debbie last week and she said it was ok to post it again.:goodvibes If anyone would like to get a copy of WDW Best Kept Secrets Document, PM Dcanoli and ask her to send you a copy, Tell her you are from The Dis Dads ( she's expecting us:goodvibes) The only thing I ask is that you are polite (not worried about that being a problem here) include your email addy, she will get it out to you:cool1: It has alot of great info, she does a great job putting it together, updated all the time:woohoo:

Don - might want to post this in the posts of intreast section:thumbsup2

Fortunately, I own all the equipment. I'm not sure what it would cost you to rent but I would be thinking upwards of $100 easily. If you have a projector you can use a while sheet as a screen- you just need something to get it high enough and stretched out.

If you had to rent it I'm sure you could get each family to throw in $10-$20 to defer the cost. Throwing in a few bucks would still cost then much less than going to the movies. ::yes::

What exactly would you need to pull it off, I'm sure I can get all the stuff without having to rent it, Tight knit hood here everyone knows someome who might have it and will share:goodvibes

Screen, projector, dvd player, small table, extension cords.

As far as sound goes if you have (or have access to) a powered speaker that is the way to go... if not you can always bring out a receiver and speakers (like a home theatre system) You need an RCA to get from the DVD player to you speaker/receiver. I have a 30ft RCA so I am able to put the speaker next to the screen facing us.

The two other things you need are popcorn and beer! ;) :rotfl:

Holy S%#t, where did you stay?
I think the worst place I've ever been in was a Ramada in Chicago. The door frame on the first room they put us in was so worn down that even when the deadbolt was "locked" you could wiggle the door about an inch. The second room was better, but I didn't notice until the next morning when I was in the bathroom that the word "MURDER" was carved into the back of the bathroom door in 8" block letters. :scared1: "Grab your stuff, honey, it's time to go!"

Honestly, I don't think I've ever had a bad meal at Disney. Sure, there have been some that I felt were overpriced for what I got and probably won't do again, but all of the food was good. CRT is a fun time, just be prepared to be called "my lord" a lot. But don't let it go to your head - your DW will not continue to call you that after the meal. At least mine didn't. :sad2:
I'm a fan of Le Cellier -the food was outstanding. It is close to that "over priced, might not go back" range. I believe it changes to a Signature Restaraunt (2 Table Service credits if you're on the dining plan) in March, so I'm very curious as to what they will be doing with it then.
Never been to SciFi, but it's on my list of things to try. Let us know how it is!

I've never been with that many before, but I would suggest splitting up into smaller groups. Plan a few times each day to get together (meals, fireworks, etc). I just can't see moving that many people around at once.
Or, just get a Brazilian flag on a long pole and have everyone follow you that way. :rotfl2:

Sci Fi is GREAT!!!! Fantastic atmosphere.. return to the "good ole days" of drive in movies, and cheesy B&W horror movies... plus good food!
