it is Andy. This stuff is more like watching bad reality TV
:lmao::rotfl2: True, I kind of compare NBA basketball to the Harlem Globetrotters, minus the fun stuff.

We had a conversation at work one day about how in most sports, as you progress to the next level, more is expected of the players and games are called a little tighter by officials as more is on the line... then there's basketball.

In Jr. High they're still trying to develop good fundamentals, so basically everything is called.

In High School, the elite players begin to separate themselves from the rest and the refs might let borderline travel calls, touch fouls and palming calls slide.

In College, elite players tend to start getting a little bit of respect and sometimes the whistle blows in their favor. For the most part I'd say games are called in a manner similar to HS games.

In the NBA... well if your name is Bryant, James, Wade, Garnett, etc, etc, you could hit a defender in the knee with a baseball bat, pick up the ball at half court, carry it to the basket and dunk it and they'd call a foul on the guy laying on the ground with the busted knee at half court. That and if you can get from the outside the 3 point line to the basket with just 1 or 2 dribbles... there probably should have been a whistle for a travel. :confused3 It just drives me nuts watching NBA... I can turn a game on, watch for a while and then I just start shaking my head and turn it off. And I'm a huge basketball fan... at least on the HS and college level.

If I sent over some pics, could someone please finish my tr for me???? I have to find some time to get it done!!! Hell it will be July and my Dec tr wont be done.I am quickly approaching Don status!!!!! ooops did I say that

Just got back from an 8 day trip to the WDW. I know I don't post on here too much, but I am writing up a trip report. My three favorite quotes from the trip...

(1) I know you dad's will appreciate this story because you've all probably have been there before...we're walking through the Orlando airport after just getting off our plane and my DS (4) sees a Muslim woman in a full burka outfit, points and says "Look Dad, I see a witch!"

(2) After our plane lands in Orlando I ask my DD (2) how she liked the ride and she says "I loved the rocket ship ride."

(3) We had breakfast at Cinderella's Royal Table and the same DD didn't want to go get her picture taken with the first two princesses. When the third came around to the table I said "Lily, go see Ariel." Her response was "No, I'm eating." (Of course, she usually never eats so good.)

It was a trip of firsts for us, including me getting attacked by a hawk at SSR.

Glad you are home safely and had a great trip.

I feel like breaking in to song.

At least you're not breaking into wind............ :lmao:

That one really made me :rotfl:

So, I was really managing to keep up with the pace of this thread yesterday until I got a telephone call. Seems like someone decided to break into our school yesterday. Really trashed the mail room office, our music room, and some of the cafeteria area. They tried to get into my office but couldn't (door handle was broken off, though). Good thing is they left a couple spots of blood around the door that they entered through so those have been collected for evidence. If you're keeping count (and I'm sure that no one is because I haven't mentioned it here), that is 4 schools in 4 days in the area where I live, plus one church if I'm not mistaken. The thinking by authorities is this is all by the same folks, which have broken into our school in previous years too. And they're still in their teens :scared1: So, I'm gonna get one of my vacation days back since I was at school until about 4:15 yesterday afternoon, which means that we may get to leave for Disney a day earlier in June than we originally planned...... :thumbsup2

Sure, I'd be more than happy to finish your TR for you. I'll just have to wait until Barry gets back so I can send the pictures to him for some his photoshop wizardry before I can write anything.:rotfl2::lmao:

Ever wake up with a pounding headache, and an empty bottle of scotch, and no clue how the bottle got emptied, or where your headache came from?

It's a day off for me, though I do have several honey-do things to be getting to for company this weekend (cleaning, fixing, etc, etc) - oh yeah, and eggs to color with my DD - but before I go, here are a few pictures to enjoy, since it has been fairly quiet in here today. Just random shots from 2008.

DVC question Nemisis...

Other than having a few extra months to book at a "Home Resort"...what is the advantage to having "ownership" at multiple DVC's ?

Seeing that you have AK, GC, SS, AUL...and want to add WL.

Personally...I see SS as the best value...as far as "buy in" price vs Maintenance fees.

Aaron...we should really have a Podcast on DVC.

Good morning, dads.
I am finding myself getting obsessed with trying to keep from having more than 10 pages to keep up with at a time here, so I have to make time to check in at least every 12 hours. Which leads me to the following:

{rant}
To help prolong these threads, I vote that we institute a new rule (law, if you will) that no one shall post more than 2 (or 3) posts in row. If you need to add more info, just edit your previous post since no one else has posted since then anyway. No offense to the existing full page owners, but if everyone tried this we would be closing out threads in a few days. I find it hard enough to stay caught up missing one day away from the board. Keeping up this pace may frighten people away (me included.)
{/rant}

Now, this just may be irritating me because I got only 4 hours of sleep last night. In that case we can just chalk this up to a Mr. Grumpy takeover. :lmao:

Actually, tonight I'm playing the role of computer geek.
Fixed one printer issue.
Updating two Windows boxes remotely.
Updating one Mac.

Still have one Windows box and two Macs to update, but I'm not going to get it all done tonight.

I'm still on a windows laptop, DW has a Mac. I'm thinking about making the leap to a MacBookPro. :surfweb:
I would LOVE to own a Macbook Pro. But, the $$ for a mac is about the same as a WDW trip (well, a cheap WDW trip). And, I spend enough time as it is on computers. If I had one that could make movies? Oy! I'd never get rid of my extra 15 lbs (i really need to start running)

Yes! Every 1st Saturday of January during my winter campout! :drinking1
It's tough to fry up breakfast when you can't see what you're doing, and trying not to add "used scotch" to the skillet...
Ah, memories...
