Speaking of roadways, who else pays tolls, I know from MD. every state inbetween to CT. & PA has them. When driving down to WDW after the one in Baltimore was a free ride down to Orlando, (might have changed it's been awhile since we drove all the way down):confused3

There's a tollway up in Northern Indiana coming out of the greater Chicago area running the entire width of the state into Ohio (80/90). I have one of those auto-toll transponders for my vehicle that I use anytime I need to go up that way for business or otherwise, and thankfully there's a reciprocal agreement of some sort between IN & IL for the tollway so I don't need a separate one for each state.

We have none here in Central Indiana though. :)

Hey Guys. Been a while seen I've been back here. Spent the last few days catching up.

Got the good, old PA Turnpike here. Drive it everyday to work.

Just wanted to add a comment on the cheeseballs. My personal favorite were the Planter's, but sadly they were discontinued. What brand does everybody else buy?

Only Toll Roads I know of in the South are in Florida.

I've used the one from Orlando to KSC.

Also all this talk of Roundabouts. In the South we call them Raceways and guys in fast cars with numbers on the side race on them for money. :lmao:

Oh yeah, Carmel - the city of roundabouts. Ugh. I don't know if you've seen any of the "improvements" along US-31 or not, but they're everywhere. The replacement bridge planned for 146th has something like 4 of them combined together with a straight stretch in between (think the shape of a dog bone). We got 3 or 4 of them in Noblesville last year, and construction on another is about to begin.

I haven't been up that way in a couple of months and with all the construction around there, I don't intend to return to the area for quite a while. Traffic is bad enough without Keystone being closed.

Well if you ever do, let me know, I'd be happy to get together and say hey, and meet another of our DDC dads!

dvczerfs,

I see where you are from, so you will know what this means:

There is one thing crazier than NJ drivers - the fans at an Easton-Phillipsburg wrestling match or football game.

:lmao: true !! easton has a wrestling team??? my wife was born in pburg. we dont tell to many people that.:lmao:

Dave...how's the wife doing???

shes hanging in there. she has been busy at work and trying to keep her mind off of it. she said she will worry about it on june 18th. shes been running getting pre op tests, physicals etc.. done. luckly they are busy were she works (insurance co.) so she has been working ot and with dance recitals and graduations coming, she has been keeping busy. thanks for asking nate.

If she made it and nobody was killed, I really don't see the problem.

SOmeday, I will explain why the Flemington Circle is actually the work of a madman.

ClearScreen
flemington circle? you take your life in your hands going down rt31!!! i spent a few years in that area, i had a few customers on rt31.

The problem is nowadays, like Disney Commando said, nobody really knows who has the right of way in a circle. Used to be, everyone knew people already in the circle had the right of way. Now, people are merging into the circle and not yielding making it tough for people to exit the circle. It seems that the art of navigating a circle is lost to history.

Also, some circles around here now have two lanes going around the circle. If you are in the inner lane, you are basically stuck until you decide to cut someone off. When I am driving in a circle with my family, I always say "Look kids, Big Ben, Parliament" but nobody gets my joke.

:lmao: I GET IT CLARK!!:lmao: no wait, yielding???? ive never met a nj driver who would use the words yeilding and driving in the same sentance. :lmao:

So happy birthdays all around....:dancer:

Traffic circles? Yes, they appear to be "migrating south"....like a lot of older yankee "beings":rolleyes1:lmao:

They put some in my hometown in Mount Pleasant---unfortunately, they neglected to tell the Fire Department they "were online" when they were finished. Buddy of mine's brother in law is a fireman and was driving Code 3 enroute to an emergency call when he realized the circles were open and he wasn't gonna' make it....:eek::eek: He just drove right on over the thing:lmao:

On the way back, they found out they made it too sharp to get the trucks through.....I'm thinking it was loong day for them:rotfl:

"They who would give up essential liberty to purchase a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety."

Yo AJ.....and to think they think I'M the feisty one....:lmao::lmao:

Don't even ask me what I think......methinks they're not worth the paper they're printed on because they're all WRONG anyway (ask me how many times I've found errors in NLETS and NCIC).....

I almost got involved in the SWAT Team Thread on the Community Board, but ended up thinking the better of it...:lmao::lmao:

Be Afraid...Be Very Afraid...:lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao:

I really didn't go in there intending to stir the pot. It just happened that way. :stir:

I did point out the data inaccuracy problem in one of my last posts. I found an article online citing a study that found a 20% over-inclusive error rate. Frankly, I'd bet it's higher than that. And that doesn't include the misinterpretation rate (as in treating "arrest" and "conviction" as the same thing).

Oh don't even get me started on the misinterpretation rate........I'm willing to bet it's well over 75%

:lmao: first off, probley one of you flat landers were pokin around and the yankee wanted to pass.(and if theres an nj or a ny tag on it, they will use the sholder to go around you.) we dont have construction zones in the north, we have construction parking lots!! for miles on end we sit in one lane traffic jams going 5 mhp if were lucky. :lmao:

It's the left lane hawks that get me...DO NOT CRUISE IN THE LEFT HAND LANE...especially if you're going 10 mph UNDER the speed limit:mad::mad::mad: And even more so if you're "matching" the speed of the other vehicles to your right and blocking the entire interstate....

Tar Guards (and fomer Tar Guards like me;)) are usually less than amused than some of the stuff that occurs on the highways...
