Just got back from the fireworks show. They were very good, but it's just not the same when they're not set to music. So I nerded out, pulled up the Illuminations soundtrack on the Blackberry and we listened to that while watching the fireworks. :woohoo:

Hope everyone had a great holiday weekend!

Had a friend of the family do the college program a couple of years ago. She was majoring in photography, so they put her in the photopass rotation. After she came back home and graduated, she spent three months here before going right back to Disney for a full-time job as a Disney photographer. She won't get rich doing it, but she loves waking up every morning knowing she's going to be in a park somewhere taking pictures of happy people.

Ooooo...first post used to join the Dad's Club. That's awesome. Welcome! And you must let us know how the cruise went. I really want to try one

How did I miss that???? First post OWNAGE!!:thumbsup2:rotfl2:

Good Lord man! You and I both come from heat, but that’s crazy heat. Is that part of the map really that much closer to the sun? I’ll have to stop the next person I hear fussin’ about the humidity and point out just where else they could be spending their time.

How much longer before you get to come back home?

Let's put it this way...the weather report summary for the week finally just gave up sending out numbers--where the temperature box is, there are no numbers, just one word---"Inferno":lmao::sick: Apparently, this is the #5 hottest place on Earth--at least we make the top 10 in something:confused3:cool1:

In 72 days I'll be relaxing at the Spa in the Hilton Kuwait Resort---in 76 days I'll be standing in my living room---but who's counting??:rolleyes1

Thats insane, is that a required run or chioce

The last few days after getting off work, I have gone through mild shock going from minus 10 -30 degrees to 98 degrees , a 110 difference within a couple minutes puts your body through hell I can actually feel the cold leaving my body, it almost looks like a exorcism

I'm pretty sure I could handle the Frozen Tundra, but no way could I do 125 degrees

Self initiated activity...even my guys have been giving me a hard time:headache::headache: Lead by example ya know:sad2:;):lmao:

You never get "used" to the heat, but you start to tolerate it better....and you'd better be drinking--one thing about a "dry" heat--dehydration will get you in a hurry:eek: Believe it or not, the wind and the dust are the worst part. You just can't get away from the dust (empty out your vaccuum and shake out all the filters, and that's pretty much what it's like over here), the sand is like talcum powder and penetrates any attepmt to keep it out!!! The wind feels like a hairdryer blasting in your face:lmao::lmao:

It's no wonder a lot of people over here stay angry all thet time.:rotfl2:

I'm surprised you don't stay sick with temp extremes like that!!!

Yeah, don't you just hate it when you sit through the time-share pitch and they make it seem so appealing, then when you spend 7 months there you start to suspect they photo-shoped some of the pictures in the brochure?

We’ll we finally got around to seeing TS3, and as usual, the folks at Pixar have again proved that they are just about the best in the business when it comes to telling a story. popcorn::

We also encountered a little bit of that “stealth tear gas” in a couple of sceans toward the end of the picture. But then again, we never laughed harder then when the gang discovered Buzz’s “Spanish Mode”. Ole!!! :lmao:

I totally agree. Pixar really out did themselves again. Amazing winning team at Pixar. I went and watched it with DW, 3 DS and the DD. By the time the junk yard scene was on that "Stealth Tear Gas " was released. I looked around and everyone from women and children to grown men were crying. Lucky I had serve training to fight the " Stealth Tear Gas ". But I did have a lot of pain coming from my tongue where I had to bite it a few times. :):)

Hang in there. Before you know it you will be home. Here in Syracuse New York we have been in the mid 90s for a few days and it will continue. We are not used to this weather up here in SNOW COUNTRY. The heat is the major topic in the newspapers, online, on TV and everyday conversations. People are hiding indoors with their AC units. People complaining their pools are too warm to swim. It's funny in six months when the snow hits big time and temps are below freezing this will all be a dream. lololol :) I am enjoying it all. Take things in stride. (((( I better go and turn up my AC )))). lololo :rolleyes1

Believe it or not, your heat wave is being reported all over AFN News on the radio out here....some of the guys were Howling about it...:lmao::lmao:

Yeah I got ripped off, but they won't give me back my security deposit:rotfl2:

Were you in the same theater as me? This was pretty much my exact same reaction!

This is exactly why I haven't complained about the heat...I knew I'd hear from you about it! :rotfl2:

Plus, I don't have to mow the lawn.

Hey guys,

For all of you planning trips this fall and in December, Disney has just extended the free dining offer for select dates. Worth checking out if you think it might save you some money (especially if you have to feed a large family). :thumbsup2

wow, one of my customers this weekend had a guy working on his christmas tree farm. hes worked for him for awhile. the guy had his 12 year old son with him. he allowed his 12 year old son to back his dump truck up near the house of the tree farm. the son ran over the fill valve for the 1000lb burried lp tank.the 12 year old got out of the truck to see what he hit. saddly, there was an explosion, the 12 year old was killed instantly and the father is in the hosp. with burns over 90 percent of his body. they dont think hes going to make it. sad morning this morning at work.

I am sad to read this news. My prayers and thoughts got out to this family for their loss of their son. I hope the father can pull through. It's sad how in a split second life can change for someone. Very sad morning indeed. Dvczerfs please keep us posted.

Dave ~ I saw this in the Morning Call. Very sad.

I know this isn't Iraq but my PC is showing 100F right now! That's hot for Easton, PA! I really feel for you and our troops in the Middle East, Fed. Take care!

... another one from pa.!!!! i think we are leading?:thumbsup2

You maybe leading, but I get to be to sole representative from my state. Wow, I feel like an important politician. Maybe, I'll run for Congress next year - my campaign slogan:
Uncle Sam wants you!!!
to give me your tax money for vacations,
political treaty summits in Disney World!

Best investment I've made. I assume you're talking about the kind with the filter and inflatable ring on the top. Once you figure out the right chemicals and how to take care of it, filling it once will last you all summer. We started with the 10' model and this is now our second year with a 12'. I'm smelling at 15 footer for next year

Yup, that's the one. There was a clearance at Toys R Us, so I grabbed it (almost $30 off). I guess it was last year's model. I went to Walmart for the Chlorine tabs, floatie thing, and some algae stuff. I bought a pH test kit but can't read it. I'm so pool smart. DW said the chemicals were at the right level. But the dds love it, and I can afford it.

That's horrible Dave, I can't even begin to think what their family and friends are going through.
