Those are pretty popular in Pigeon Forge novelty stores....was it the one with the cross-hair on the teenage boy.

No, just blank. It was on a lime green shirt with plain block letters, and that was why I thought he came up with it.

Was there a age limit on that, I know some guys with daughters in mid 20's and older that can't wait till they get married and get out of the house already

I'll let you know if they make it that far. Mine are 8 and 6, talk about boys being hot, and want to wear swim suits that show off their belly. After they say that and my heart slows back down, I see the cross-hair on the teenage boys.

"Hi Mich! Where are you in MI? I have cousins in Clio. I'm also a Navy vet (1971-1975), RM3, NAVCOMMSTA GUAM as a CW operator (1972-1975). They probably didn't have CW anymore when you were in. They don't even have RMs anymore. My son is an AO2 stationed at Joint Base Andrews in MD and is hoping to land a 3-year tour with the Blues in October. He is waiting for official confirmation that he has been selected to join them as a Crew Chief. I'm pretty anxious to hear if he has it!"

Hi Mijo Thanks for the Welcome. I am in Canton Michigan probably about an Hour south of Clio. I was in from 86-92 and I was an STS3 Stationed on the USS Jack 87-90 and the USS City of Corpus Christi 90-92. I don't remember if there were CW's when I was in but they still had RMs.

Congratulations on your son possibly making the blue's that would be a fantastic duty to be stationed with them. My Family and I watched them last year when they came out to Willow Run Airport around the 4th of July and they were Amazing.

There is quite a heated discussion going on in the "Theme Park Strategies" board about bus etiquette:

I had to quote a Man Law to try to restore some order in the universe.

:scared1: Flashback :scared1: on that thread post 14 has a link to a old thread on the subject. If you click on it and go to the last few pages you will find that is the thread that the Dis Dads shut down & hence a new Man Law was born:thumbsup2

Does that make the bus threads recursive, and therefore now require a thread about bus accidents?

Man...that...and reading stopher1's TR about the waiting...waiting...waiting...

Makes me glad I'm driving down...and will not set foot on a Disney Bus. :thumbsup2

Did like the comment someone posted about how things would be different on the Shades of Green Bus.:thumbsup2

CW is an abbreviation for Continuous Wave, or Morse Code. I was an RM and my duty was as a Morse Code operator at NavCommSta Guam. They still used it back then for passing traffic from our merchant vessels heading to/from Nam. Thanks for the wishes for our son! If he gets it, everyone here will know, that's for sure!:)

Oh no! The Bus Etiquette thread rears its ugly head once again!
A Man Law is sure to shut it down again! :thumbsup2

They just closed it. I can't believe the debate over this. If someone oviously needs a seat, get off your butt.

They have been shuting these threads down quick, We don't even get the chance to round up the posse and ride in on our High & Mighty Horses:lmao:

I'm convinced people start these threads just looking to argue:confused3

Everytime there is a bus accident, the next day there seems to be a why you shouldn't stand on the bus thread (usally the same people trying to justify why they won't give up there seat):confused3

And a big ole Welcome to all of the new guys on the board. Good to have you all on board.

On behalf of the new guys, thanks. Thanks also for the link to you pictures of the Blue Angles. I wanted to see the Blues when they came to Charleston earlier this year, but work got in the way. Your shots help make up for that. Glad you were able to recover the lost files.

And a shout out to all the DIS Dads on the great job on getting the “Bus Thread” straightened out and order restored to the universe. We're all Disney Veterans here (or we wouldn’t be here) and one thing we should all be good at by now is "standing". I’m too old, too heavy and have two many bum ankles, but I can still out “stand” my teenager. :lmao: And of course, you get your butt up when someone else needs a seat on the bus (any bus), because, as a dad (DIS or otherwise) “that’s what you do”. Nice work. :thumbsup2

Those threads absolutely kill me, but I also know that regardless of what our man law is and what we believe as DisDads, there are folks, both men and women, that don't give a crap about helping folks out or doing what is right. For those folks, it's all about me and what I can do do help me out, screw everyone else. I'm a firm believer that folks like that get what is coming to them.
Mini rant over.

Now for better thoughts; bags are packed, DW has the kitchen stuff ready, I changed the oil in the van, getting some ice for the cooler tomorrow, and for the next three days, I'll be practically useless at work :cool2:

New Subject. Probably off topic… but new. ;)

My family is leaving this weekend to head up to Washington DC for a spell. It ain’t Disney, but my wife has never been there and our boy is the perfect age to actually get something useful out of the trip. My question for y’all is: has anyone been up that way lately, and what are some of the less obvious things I should try to get into while I’m in the area. :scratchin

We were there last year around July 4th for a few days. It's sort of like Disney is the fact that there is too much to do in a short period of time. I don't know about the less obvious stuff; the obvious stuff takes up too much time, or it did for us.:rolleyes1

You got to hit the museums and they are free:woohoo:

Go to post 735,736, 737,738 and read Tenner's TR of Washington DC might be able to get some pointers:thumbsup2

Off Topic? You'll soon learn that we don't have a topic, so we can never actually be "off" of it. :thumbsup2
Aside from that, I have nothing to add. :rotfl2: DC is still on our "must do" list.

Is anyone else going this weekend to see Toy Story 3, since I'm off this week I will hit the theater early on Fri and try to score tics for the 1st show:woohoo:

Not this weekend, but we do plan on seeing it. My sons and I leave for a week at Summer Camp on Sunday, so we'll be busy, busy, busy packing and getting ready to go. Definitely sometime after camp though.

We're heading to Minneapolis for the weekend (probably making a "midnight run" very early Friday morning), so we'll probably wait and catch TS3 next weekend or even the weekend after. Right now I'm focused on Saturday at Nick Universe at Mall of America.
