#2 from pa!!! nate, what has 140 legs and 3 teeth and is 100 foot long? the line for the funnel cake at the west end fair!!!! :lmao:

:lmao::lmao::lmao:

Seriously though we had a good time a "Splash Country" which is the Water park next door to Dollywood. They have allot of fun slides. We have Season Passes...was my first trip...Wife and Kids second.

There was one Tube Slide I came out of...I about took out the Life Guard waiting at the exit steps...felt like Clark Grizwold on his super-polished snow sled. :lmao:

Howdy gents! I've been too busy at work lately to get much Dis time, but I'll try to reprioritize.
Took the two big kids to Busch Gardens, Williamsburg on Friday. Had a great time. I keep telling them this is practice for the December trip and so far they are coming through like champs. No whining until the boy fell out of the Elmo ride towards the end of the day. He was fine but it was about time to go. 4+ hours in 95 degree heat was enough to tell me that with a little more conditioning they'll be good to go in December.

Can I claim two states? I'm quite proud of both my birth state (Illinois- Go Blackhawks, Cubs, Bears) and my current home (Virginia)

By the way, when I was watching the hockey game the other night, the 'Hawks were losing 3-1. I flip over to the Cubs and they were losing 3-1. Although I despise them, I checked on the White Sox and they too were down 3-1. I wonder what all that means :confused3

I don't remember if I mentioned here that, when I took my car in a couple of weeks ago for a steering issue, the mechanic gave me an estimate of $2,400 for the repair! :scared1:

He said that there was a leak in the rack & pinion on that side, as well as a hose leak and a bushing that needed to be replaced. Well, that estimate was enough that it was worth it to give DW's family mechanic back home in Rochester, MN a chance to make a competitive bid on the repair. Based on the estimate we got from our local mechanic, her guy in Rochester said he could do the repair for $1,200. Woo hoo! 50% cheaper!! :cool1:

So yesterday, DW drove my car up to Rochester (taking plenty of power steering fluid along with her, and refilling the reservoir at each stop). I just got off the phone with her a few minutes ago. The mechanic took it all apart, got it all cleaned up, annnnnnnddd - the rack & pinion is fine! The hose that was leaking was spraying fluid onto the firewall, which then splashed back onto the rack & pinion. So instead of replacing the c. $700 rack & pinion, it just needs a new hose and bushing. Total cost will be under $500!!!! :dance3:

I think I'm going to dedicate our California Grill dinner at WDW to the mechanic in Rochester, MN who saved me $1,900 in car repairs. party:

(Edited to add: the hose and bushing are actually being done for around $200, but as long as it's there and we've already avoided the huge expense, he's going to take care of a few other minor issues, like fixing the power driver's seat and freeing the CDs that have been stuck in the CD changer for 4 years).

paul!!!! hows it going? i see your count down is still there at 112 days!!! i dont think we have anymore brits, i wounder how many states we cover. glad to have you back on!!!:thumbsup2

#3 from Pennsylvania

oh great, kate plus eight???? is there a smile face thats throwing up????:lmao: i got to go poke pencils in my eyes, have a good night!!:thumbsup2

The only thing worse then seeing her on TV is seeing her in person. They live in our area and there is the occassional sighting at some of the stores.

PENNSYLVANIA!

Still no official news from our son about "The Blues". He did receive a phone call from one of the LPOs Friday just to see how was doing and to let him know they were in Wisconsin for an air show. Funny thing ....... the call came in at 4:00 AM!!! He thinks it was hilarious! He was tempted to ask if he's "in" but he said he was too "out of it" from being asleep to think of much to say. :lmao: Seems to be a good sign. The new selectees are supposed to be notified this month and will begin their tours in October/November.

Our older son, his DW and our 2 DGDs have moved in with us temporarily until our son lands a permanent job. They couldn't renew their lease since they may be leaving the area. He is currently working a "contract" IT job about 1 1/4 hours from here in Pottstown, PA. It looks like he has a good chance of getting this permanently within the next two weeks. If so, they will stay with us for the summer (probably) so they can save some $$$$ for a house down payment. So, things have been in a little turmoil for about a week but it's settling down now. It's nice to have our DGDs here! If we could only take them to WDW! :sad2:

Good luck to both of your sons!

:thumbsup2 sounds like the "bad compressor" in my ford a few years ago. i may not know much about cars but i do know something about a/c systems. took the car in to the dealer for some warrenty work, long story short, someone failed to put the wires back on the compressor that was no good and would cost 2800.00 to have replaced. never went back and tell everyone i know what happened to me.:thumbsup2

Great news! And I'm sure the mechanic will love California Grill. What? Dedicate and invite are two different things? In that case, you'd better not tell him about it, or you'll have a "accidental" grease stain in your driver's seat that won't ever come out. :rotfl2::rotfl2:

The CD changer in my van quit working a few years back, so DW got me a new aftermarket one for Christmas. After I pulled the old one and replaced it, my curiosity got the better of me and I started taking the old one apart. What did I find? A quarter, two dimes and a nickel. Hmmm... how could those have gotten in there?

I would LOVE to replace my CD changer with an aftermarket one, but the Infiniti console is a PITA. The stereo and climate control stuff is all integrated into a single panel. I don't know of any aftermarket solutions that will fit (maybe a fully custom job, but I don't want it bad enough to pay for that).

I don't think there's any change in my changer (so to speak). But I have TWICE now pulled change out of the DVD slot in my MacBook. Thing #1,357 I never thought I'd hear myself saying (but did hear myself saying to my child): "The computer is NOT a piggy bank. No putting money in the computer!"

Uh-oh...you just caught a glitch in the Matrix. I'll bet what ever you were eating tasted like chicken.

Wyomissing Borough is right next door to me. I am about 1/4 mile from the Borough Line. We are part of the Wyomissing School District. The Gosslins were originally from Wyomissing. Jon's dad was a dentist and his brother is still in the area.

I just figured it had something to do with the Dharma Initiative.

So okay, I'm going to update mine then...

California - for the first 30 years -Indiana for the last 8. (And 2 in Michigan too between the other two)

Of course, you could add Florida as well, since I do have deeded real estate and have spent about half a year of my life there... but I guess we won't get picky
