Just came across a new thread - What is up with giving up seats on the bus. It just started, I will be watching it:magnify: It is starting of as a good natured thread but if it gets ugly we might have to show some Dis Dad MAN LAW presence:confused3 If it comes to this Don't go in rally the Dads and we'll go in as a TEAM worked well last time.

Oh NO... not again.

We all know where this will be headed. :drive:

Newbie here! Can you add me to the roster as member #442? Great car, and I will wear the number proudly!

I'm new to the club, but let me know the rallying cry and I'm there. I just read the Man Law credo on this, and am in full agreement, so we should go in united IMO.

I haven't seen any reps yet, but going through my inventory there are 3 possible replacements - Edy's Fruit Bars , Nestle Diliousio (know I killed that spelling:lmao:) & Whole Fruit Bars. Out of the 3 the Whole Fruit Bars have the nearest texture (I don't know if thats the one you tried). I have no idea when the reps will come in, but they will all be quizzed when they show up:lmao:
I think the mango ones we tried were Edy's. I'll check around for the others. Thanks!

Oh good Lord.....:sad2:

What's wrong with being 8 in 1986?

Nothing except it makes "some" of us feel that much older...:lmao::lmao::lmao:

Glad to see I'm not the only one that winds up with that seat

I thought the exact same thing...it amazes me how I always get soaked and DW walks a way with a little "spritz":mad::rotfl2::rotfl2:

Saw it,have been lurking in there just to see how it gets.It started off ok,different points of views.Still have the same type of people saying I was here first,I would stand but you shouldnt expect it,well nobody would stand for me ,wait for next bus ect.Its already on page 3 but seems to stil be civil.
However when the need for the DDC arises let me know and I will be there. The power of the DDC is strong ,may the force be with us:thumbsup2

Too true - since some of us were driving, dating, in college or already married in 1986 while some were getting pictures taken with Snow White...oh wait, no that's right, they were watching their mom take pictures of other people with Snow White since the line was too long :lmao: Hmmm... now I'm just wondering out loud here, but, Barry, are you sure you actually got to experience the attractions in 1986, or did your mom just take pictures of them to remind you of your visit years later? :confused3 Maybe the lines were too long and it was just easier to take pics than wait :rotfl:

I'm still shocked by the lack of common courtesy and chivalry existing in this world nowadays........:confused3

I only distinctly remember a few things from that trip - riding the Sky Ride, riding 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea, and renting a car with power windows. Yes, the hick farmer family from Wisconsin got a kick out not having to crank a window.

I think I am going to have a shirt made up for my trip.It will read,"I am a Dis DAD no questions asked you can have my seat !" This will be on the front and on the back it will read " the few, the proud ,the Dis Dads"

:lmao: Hey that's pretty cool. I grew up in/near the uber chic/hip Los Angeles, and in 1986 was driving myself, and my pick-up had crank windows....like you not remembering much about your visit to WDW, it was something about costing extra and not wanting to pay for a feature that wasn't truly necessary I believe is what my dad said when we went out to buy the truck. I didn't have automatic windows til my next vehicle 5 years later.

As for your memories of a trip you took when you are 8 - not surprising that you can't remember it all - I think you've slept once or twice since then "old man". I'll be turning 40 later this year and my kids have taken to constantly reminding me of that fact ... especially when they ask some question about the past and I can't provide them with an answer fast enough. Photos do help though!

personally I wish my cars still had crank windows. To many electronic parts to go bad with power things. When I had crank windows I always knew my window would go up or down. Now with power ones they go down real slow and you have to hope it goes back up.Power locks are the same push the button and hope it locks and unlocks.I know I know I can always go and get em fixed but with manuel ones never had to worry.Bring back my old school.

Here's a few more pictures from 2006...

The Living Seas. I think I saw a similar picture in one of your trip reports. Can't remember which one. So, whoever it was, thanks for letting me rip off your idea! :thumbsup2

My daughter Sarah at Epcot. She got drenched. And loved every minute of it. My wife got this shot.

My Pirate Princess. Still excited to be there. My wife took this one as well. She gets the kids at the right moments.

Here's Big Dave. This was back when the beanie was still attached to his hat.

Mommy and Sarah went on Soarin' one last time while I watched the boys, figuring we'd do the child swap. By the time they finished, it was time for our ADR at Le Cellier, so we had to leave. Here I am forlornly holding an unexpected souvenir.

And finally, here's me again, sitting in the wrong seat on Kali River Rapids.
That's my buddy's wife and kid next to me.

I've been on these rides all my life and never had so much as a drop on me. Until that trip. I guess eventually your number comes up...

I still miss 20,000 Leagues under the Sea. And I think we had crank windows up till I was in high school! My dad would go on and on about the unnecessary expense of power windows. And why our station wagons would ALWAYS be superior to minivans. Maybe that's what Fed needs... :lmao:

Yes. That night. Ahem. :rolleyes1

I blame reality TV, people are starting to think it is ok to act like a jack@#*.

We had a huge (maybe 1000+ gallon) fuel tanks on the farm - one for gas, one for diesel. The diesel take had an electric pump, but the gas tank was gravity fed and was mounted up on a stand. And there was none of this fancy "automatic shutoff" nozzle stuff either. You learned really quick how to tell - by sound - how full your tank was before it overflowed. And don't get me started on the fumes. The fumes might have gotten to me if that unicorn and the leprechaun weren't always there when I was gassing up. :hyper::crazy2:

Wow! That bus tread got shut down already page 6. It was just starting to go bad, guess they don't want to chance it, being that those theads usally go sour:confused3
