OK... so I'm from Ohio originally... I know snow... grew up with it. But my daughter has never had the chance to REALLY play in it... until this week. So, for you guys who are very much tired of seeing snow, please disregard this post! :lmao: Our area hasn't seen this kind of snow since like 1986... so it's fun to get to pass on some snow-playing fun.

Great job Don!

I know what you mean about the kids and snow, I grew up in Ontario and remember the snow being deep enough to make tunnels under the snow across the front lawn when I was a kid. Putting up Christmas lights in a t-shirt is great and all but I miss the snow.

I had a few days off after Christmas 2 years ago so I decided that since DS was 3 and had never seen snow we would load up the van and drive north until we hit snow........6 hours later we hit DC and it was 76 degrees:confused3. Got on the internet at the hotel and saw that we would be half way through PA before we had a shot at snow, ended up hanging around DC for a few days before hitting a ski resort in VA (Wintergreen) so he could play in the snow for an hour.

Ya know what? the more I think about these grand adventures I keep taking the family on, the more I understand why Goofy is our mascot.

blah, blah, blah, blah, snow, snow, snow

Big deal snow, whoopdie doo.

I really don't see the appeal!:lmao::lmao:

Actually Don thats a pretty good snowman, the igloo looks very spacious. Is there a Man Room in the basement?

Looks like DD had a great time.:thumbsup2

Building the igloo is the easy part, heating it, maintaining it and the taxes are a killer. We Canadians know about living in Igloos...eh :lmao:

All kidding aside after being in the warmth for 10 days, I am really over it. Bring on the summer!:thumbsup2

Don,

When you said you were working from home and listening to Disney music, I pictured a different kind of work... :rotfl: That Igloo is amazing! What was it that you were using to build the blocks?

Looks like we may have another chance at building more snow stuff this weekend...:scared:

Time for a shameless plug here, I posted my first update on my TR, if anyone is interested. Click on the link in my siggie :3dglasses

That looked fun. Well, until like you said, sat down and the muscles said ouch. Living in Florida, DD had not seen snow. I lived in New York for 5 years and one Christmas day we were flying together to the city from Miami. NY had just got hit with a big snow storm the day before. Her eyes were huge seeing the ground covered in snow as we were landing. DD looked like she was going to pee her pants with excitement as we were exiting the plane. She was about the same age as your daughter is now and could not wait to hit her dad with a snowball.

Great job on the igloo. Should have invited us over to help. Of course we would have stood around with a beverage giving you advice. “You know, I think that block should be over there. What do you guys think?”

Then after it was done we would stand back stare at it for a while and discuss how we could improve it next time. :lmao::lmao:

I'm baaaaaack.....heck, we sat in the 4 Runner in the Garage, and didn't want to get out...LOL
Well fellas....I'm back!

We got home last night at around 5:30, we had to get some stuff for the house on the way home. Our flight was preety smooth coming back, no real hiccups. I have been trying to catch up on what has been happening on the boards...oh..and of course work. My desk is piled up with stuff....what a "welcome home". :sad2: The trip was amazing, great weather overall, comfortable and warm enough for the pool! (well at least for Canadians):lmao:

There will be more in my TR. (insert shameless plug here)
Welcome back fellaz!!! Hope you had a great time!

Now I gotta check out your TR DD-O

We start the drive in 30 days, but it will be 31 by the time we get to southern Georgia. Of course we'll be coming down 75, so when I get almost to the FL state line, I'll stick my arm out the window and give you wave as I'm duckin' the Georgia State Patrol! :drive::car:
Are you gonna be waving or doing something else out that window?:confused3

Ooops... Did the same thing to DWs Tinkerbell mug the other day. She's TICKED! I'm known for breaking stuff in the kitchen. Must remember to get Superglue...

Let's not give out our secrets. When we break a dish, we get restricted from the dishes so that no more are broken. Oops. I wouldn't break a Disney dish...bad karma:confused:

Went outside with DD yesterday afternoon and I checked how the snow was doing. Turned out it was that PERFECT snow-packing consistency... just grab a hand full, pack, and throw. So then I started making a bigger snow ball... as I rolled it on the ground it was picking up all the snow down to the grass. It got big, fast. In case you're wondering... here's yours truly... picking up the middle ball... in a t shirt (you can see the path the first ball made):

Since the snow was so perfectly ready for packing, I turn to DD and ask her if she would like to make an igloo... of course she did... she's 7! HAHA! So her friend helped us start the igloo. I really should not have made this so big... this was a LOT of work.

Nice photos, looks like you guys had a blast in the snow.I love spending the day in the snow with the kids.Dont know if you saw my "igloo" on my facebook profile.I like your block maker, the way I make mine is to shovel the snow into pile then dig out.If we can get another snow fall here I want to double the size I make lol( last one only fit 7 people).Well get back out there and enjoy the rest of the snow.

ps maybe someday I will learn how to post pics here( hope I learn before Dec)

Wow... a road trip for snow! That's awesome!

There was indeed a secret Man Room created when the girls weren't looking. I think the electronics melted it before I could enjoy it :confused3

HAHA! I thought about running the extension cord out there :thumbsup2 We were using an old plastic tub that was used at the local BJ's Wholesale Club. Not sure how we got that thing. The dimensions are about 24"x18"x12". It made some AWESOME blocks! They must have weighed about 30 lbs a piece.

That looked fun. Well, until like you said, sat down and the muscles said ouch. Living in Florida, DD had not seen snow. Hope she was able to get a few snowballs at ya! :woohoo:
I can totally see that happening !:lmao:

Nice job Don! I love the igloo. :thumbsup2

Thanks! Come on down for a tour!

Then after it was done we would stand back stare at it for a while and discuss how we could improve it next time. :lmao::lmao:

:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2: That was the first thing I did when I was finished. Can't believe I didn't put Mickey ears on top!!

Yep.. it was lot's of fun... til I sat down that night. I used muscles I didn't know existed! :lmao::lmao: The best kind of snow is the kind you can visit... and leave it! :thumbsup2

That igloo is Awesome Don:thumbsup2 I see you can also t-shirt the snow, everyone is usally he's nuts, but once you get going you sweat to death with the coat and sweatshirt:lmao:

If the Dis Dads ever go ice fishing you can be the official igloo builder:rolleyes1

Are you gonna be waving or doing something else out that window?:confused3

If you're referring to the age old "press vs hang" debate...I prefer to hang. While one can't argue with the shock value of pressed full moon, you can't beat the wind whipping by at 70 mph while your derrière (or since I'm from Wisconsin, your "dairy air") is displayed if it's full three dimensional glory. I'll just have to make sure DW is driving at the time. Maybe I'll unbuckle the kids and use it as a family bonding experience!

LOL

I wasn't thinking as deep as that! I was thinking more along the lines of... errrr.. flipping the bird. :scared:

Here's some pixiedust: to help you! Can't believe her dad let it out of the bag! At least he didn't say where! :lmao:

:rotfl: I know - can you believe it - her DAD of all people... I mean c'mon, I could see her mom doing that, she slips on words and stuff all the time, but her dad?!? Really now. Dad's are supposed to keep quiet when they know it's a secret. ;)

Actually, except for my DIS pals, and DVC Member Services, no one knows where - so I wasn't too worried about the "where" getting out

Don - those are some great pics, and great memories you made with your DD! :thumbsup2 What an awesome job on the igloo! Tell your DW thanks for me for the pics... I loved them. My DW doesn't always readily grab the camera when we're out playing in the snow as she'd rather stay warm inside and facebook or other stuff... so kudos to her!!!! :)

Spitting beverage out the nose funny. I can see the conversation between a neighbor and one of your kids. "Did you enjoy your vacation?" "Yes, I really liked mooning Georgia. It was so much fun, on the way back we mooned S. Carolina, N. Carolina..."

Great job on the snowman and igloo! Personally, I can't stand snow but I've been living with it for almost 60 years. I do enjoy taking our granddaughter out to ride her sled, though. It'll be great when the other two are old enough to enjoy it. We got a couple inches over night so I'll have to clean off the SUV before heading to work.

HAHA! I'll let her know! Every picture she took was from inside the house. She would NOT come play in the snow... so... yeah... she was on FB and watching movies (sappy girly movies at that). Good thing we have a good storm door to look through :thumbsup2

I feel for ya... I remember the days of having to clear off the cars... scraping ice... trying to get the key in the lock but can't cause it's iced up. Now I'm glad the snow is a novelty for us. Hurry up SPRING!!

Good thing the temperature is rising here or else we'd be getting a few more inches of snow this weekend. Right now it's forecasted to be rain. (Crossing fingers that they are right)
