I tend to follow Penn State because I've lived in Pennsy all my life. I'm a Giants fan, too.
We have a 3 month old DGS named Rider after my FIL (that is my wife's maiden name). When we were in Search and Rescue, our K-9 Coordinator had a son named Ryder, so it's a very common name to us.
I guess Pinnochio would be kinda long! I'm sticking with Walt!

These last 28 days are going to be tough: all the planning has been done for weeks. Usually, I'm planning right up to the last day, but not this time. We had some help from DU this time so the ADRs are made and everything. What am I going to do!?!?!?!? :rotfl:

Hey Dis Dad's! I think I'll have a countdown ticker by the end of the week! I really, really need to get to Disney fast!

Fanatic: it sounds like you might get there BEFORE you get a countdown ticker! :cool1:

It is great driving at night. You do not have to run the air conditioner and there is very little traffic. You mentionned the one drawback - getting there in the morning with the children having slept and ready to go, and I am on no sleep. I have started taking naps on Friday before I drive.

:lmao: we took our "disney van" out sat. to a friends house and to drive it a little, dd wanted to drive, dw was shot gun and i laid in the back!! i was telling dd that next year, she can do the driving to wdw and i can lay in the back for 16 hours sleeping, watching videos and eating!!! :lmao: after doing all the driving evey year for 26 years, she can take a turn! she said OK! :woohoo: it looks like we are only going one time in 2010. looks like the first two weeks in december.(if i can make it that long) in 2011 dd dances at wdw in june and we are going in october again.:woohoo:

This is how we'll look in early October, except we'll be dressed a little more casually! If you see us, say "Hi"! :thumbsup2

So it looks like we're gonna' head down after Christmas. I get home December 5th, so we're gonna' lay low during the holidays and catch my breath:goodvibes

Then load up and make the long 2.5 hour drive down!!!:cool1::cool1:

I was thinking about this in some of the other posts...

How many Disney Dads fish??? And if so, what for...I'm a bass fisherman myself, but every now and then I get a hankerin for some Specks (Crappie) and some Bream

My son LOVES the boat...got great video of him right before I left!!!

PS MiJo...

Where is your son stationed?

Normally, I wouldn't put my boat in the water July 4th weekend (I'm sure you could imagine why), but time was short for me, so I put in....he HAD to go with me of course. My wife threatened me with DEATH if I went over idle speed, but he was bouncing up and down squealing with delight. So...we picked it up a bit (with her permission of course;))

We didn't run flat out....that scares even her, but he was digging 45mph:rotfl:

He also got a kick out of playing with the crickets...

I have pics somewhere I need to post.....

If any of you guys get down here and want to wet a line in one of the local lakes, lemme' know....

I'm dying to try the Disney Fishing Excursion, but haven't yet.

Just wondering.

we can see the pic mike. did your son stop home or did you visit?

Well, I ended up getting two photos up instead of one! The one where we are in coats was taken following his Boot Camp graduation a few years ago and we were in Chicago for the day. The other one was taken at Christmas a year or two ago in our living room.
Since David is stationed at Andrews AFB in MD, he gets a lot of opportunities to come home weekends so we see him pretty often. He's home this weekend for the holiday. He is an AO2 (E-5) and is a supervisor in his shop. He is also on the base Auxiliary Security Force so he stands security duty one weekend per month.

Hey guys,

Need some opinions. We were working our ADRs for our trip and December, and unfortunately the day we had wanted to try for Fantasmic is booked solid for all the restaurants. We can get an early meal at Disney Studios on that Tuesday and then stand in line for an hour or more, but I am not sure I want to try that with a then 20 m/o and 2 5 y/o kids.

Any one done it? What are your guys opinions? Would you try it with the young kids, or just accept that this trip there will be no Fantasmic? I mean in all honesty the little ones will not know or remember, sure my DW and I will remember, but is that memory worth trying to make the kids deal with the wait and that line for this show? From what I can find out and have been told everyone has to be in line, there is no holding places for a family (because otherwise I could wait in line while we kept the kids entertained elsewhere)

Unfortunately the only other showings just do not fit the schedule, so we have to decide if we are a go or no go for Fantasmic on that day.

Opinions, thoughts and ideas?

Thanks
~DD :confused3

Don't know if I can help but ~ a friend of mine and his family were down in June and had a similar problem. They had a non-Fantasmic dinner and walked over to the theater about 20-30 minutes before the show and got very good seats. It's worth a try. That's what we will be doing in 4 weeks!
Keep in mind, Fantasmic might be a little frightening for little ones. Some of the dads with younger kids can give you a better opinion of that, though.

I've seen plenty of people hold seats for Fantasmic. Granted they are usually in bigger groups, i.e., 20 people, but they still do it. You would just need to flex your muscles:eek: DW is more of a Fantasmic fan than I, and we usually only do HS every other year. I like the MK fireworks the best. Our two DDs (6,4) last trip really enjoyed Fantasmic. We did not go wait in the line until it opened, but we walked in after the crowd was already sitting. We made it to the front row (left of the center) and sat there. (This was in October) and there were plenty of seats, and a bigger area where they could stand up, walk around, and play. If you have never seen Fantasmic, it is worth it. Also, keep calling the ADRs. We were able to call and change times in October this year - there are always cancellations.

Last year, at CBRpirate:, we were doing an evening swim and by accident, caught the fireworks from Epcot. Granted, you could only see the high ones. But, we made it a point to watch them some other nights as well. Everyone loved it, and I was able to sit on the fake beach, drink a beer, and had no lines to get through when it was over. That was great!
