I don't have a neighborhood association, and I might be able to convince the wife, but my insurance agent would kill me.

I was looking up some info about the monorail system and I got to thinking... how many other monorails are there in the good ol' USA? Then I ran across this web page:

http://www.monorails.org/tmspages/Niles.html

If you get a chance, you gotta read the history. This is really cool! I want one :thumbsup2
CONSTRUCTION STARTS SAT. MORNING!!! i want one of those! im going to have mine go thru the second floor of the garage! theres nothing up there anyway but some junk. i can put auto doors on the garage to go in and out and i can fix the second floor up w/ spot lights and put some of our disney stuff up there! sad part about it my dw would say "sounds good to me,when are you starting." oh, now you got the wheels turning!:thumbsup2

We gotta think bigger than the backyard. Let's get the neighborhood to do this. A docking station at every house (ok, too many stops - but one at my house) and it can go through every yard in the subdivision. Better yet, the city is doing a big riverfront project. I wonder if I can get a monorail added to the project:laughing:

Not "Dad" related technically, uncle releated actually (but my youngest brother did the Disney College Program, and really introduced me to the Disney Magic) but I have an announcment..

The newest Princess Arrived to the Lake Family...

My niece, Chloe Annabelle Lake stepped out of the Crystal Carraige at 0133 Local EST (0830 Iraq Baghdad Central Time), 15AUG09, weighing in at 7 lbs 2 ozs, 21 inches long....

Had a bacterial infection and spent some time at neonatal, but has since been released and is resting comfortably with mom and dad....

I, of course, have now been deployed for every birth in my family except for my own son's (and I was almost gone for that one)...got to be some kind of record!

She's the first for them...Congrats Jason, now the fun begins....as it was put to me "the toughest job you'll ever love"....

She'll be joining us at WDW sometime in January!!!!

Congrats to you and Jason! If he's not already a member of the Dad's club, make sure he gets a sign in name and drops us a line!

I'm a 45 year old kid at heart. My wife and 14 year old daughter do love Dis, but not as much as I do. Here is an example of my devotion to Disney and the magic that Walt created many years ago.

Let us never forget, it all started with a mouse.

At 45 years old, I am no longer ashamed or embarassed how much I love this place.

Some guys golf, other guys are sport fanatics, me, I'm addicted to all things Disney. Oh and my family is what I live for.

Hey Dads!

Is anyone going to be in The World 10/1-10/11?

Steve

Steve,
My DW and I and our 27yo Navy son will be there 10/4 to 10/10, staying at POFQ! I know I can't wait!

I'm just coming off a vacation week in which we were blessed with our 2nd DGD, Caitlin Michelle! Now we have 2 DGDs (Erin princess: and Caitlin princess:, sisters) and 1 DGS (Rider pirate:). Someday, they will go with us to The World! :cool1:

Congratulations on the addition of Caitlin to the family!!:yay: I hope we all have a great time that week. We are staying off site at the Hilton Vacation club on I-Drive. No better place to vacation with family than Disney.

BTW tell your son Thanks for his service to our country!!:thumbsup2

Steve,
Thanks! We can't wait 'til the day comes when we can visit Mickey with our grandkids!
Our son was home for the weekend. He is stationed at the Fleet Readiness Center at Andrews Air Force Base in MD, about 3 1/2 hours south of us. There's quite a large Navy section at Andrews. Next weekend he has base security duty so he won't be home but he usually does manage to get home most weekends.
Maybe we'll bump into you when we're down there! I'm sure we'll all have a great time. :thumbsup2

Steve,
Our plan is this:
We arrive Sunday evening, the 4th, and might have dinner at DTD.
Mon: EPCOT, Tues: MK, Wed: AK and Bob Jackson at POR; Thur: DHS; Fri: Park Hop. We come home early Saturday morning.

That's awesome man! :thumbsup2 Been thinking about a sorcerer Mickey for quite some time myself. :)

I'm in the same place, have been for a LONG time. 41 years eh, young, LOL, with a beautiful wife and two kids. They love Disney, but I'm, well, a bit over the top. It's my one addiction in life, and outside of my family, keep me happier than anything. The guys at work think there's probably something wrong with me, :lmao:, but I don't care, you only live once, might as well be happy. :thumbsup2
