kevin, what is goin on with the phills? i dont think ive ever seen someone in center field get tosses before! i missed it but they said shane was throwing his arms in the air because of the ball, strikes?

I missed that one too. I hope the Phils get this out of their system in the next few days. Three in a row to the fish is not a good sign. The pitching this week should be interesting. Happ tonight and Pedro on Wednesday. I heard Pedro did good in Reading last week.

DIS Dads, I haven't posted in quite awhile been busy preparing and then enjoying our newborn DD (1 month yesterday). Anywhooo... I was visiting some of my WDW sites and came accross this piece of info (that was supposively leaked), I have no idea of the reliability of this info I am just passing it on to see if anyone else has heard this. It's in regards to WDW re-doing tomorrowland and eliminating toontown, it even came with a picture of the blueprints and a description of the plans. If it's a hoax, someone went to alot of trouble to create it. I will paste the blueprint link and also paste the description below. You be the judge.
BluePrint
Starting in Tomorrowland
The tea cups and speedway are still there and still in the same place. Walking from there and into where Toontown would be, Barnstormer is still there but probably will be rethemed to the Dwarf Mine Cart Coaster, possibly in a 2nd phase of the refurb. Next to the Barnstormer zone in the train station, renamed Fantasyland Train Station. That area is zoned and labeled Dumbo. Leads me to believe the train station will have a Dumbo theme to it.

To the west of the train station is Pixie Hollow. The Pixie Hollow zone has the fairies meet and greet as well as a Pixie Hollow Play area.

North of Pixie Hollow is a second named Dumbo zone. Here is where the two Dumbo rides (Dumbo A and Dumbo B) are located, right next to each other. There appears to be an indoor queue leading to both rides. The queue is labeled Interactive Queue. This area would be the northern most part of Toontown and pushing the boundry with the train tracks for WDW Railroad.

Ok, let's circle back to the Indy Speedway and the teacups. Walk west into Fantasyland. Right off the teacup area is a zone labeled Aurora. Inside this zone is an area labeled Aurora Attraction. This area is inside were Toontown was, and right behind Pooh's Playful Spot, which is staying.

Walk past Pooh's Playful Spot, heading west. You will come to a new zone called Cinderella. And inside this Cinderella zone is something called Cinderella Attraction. Attached to the Cinderella attraction is a building labeled MIRROR. I am assuming this attraction in a walkthrough, and the MIRROR is a magic mirror with technology similar to Turtle Talk. Pooh and Snow White's rides appear unaffected cause they are still on the plans.

Directly in front of Cinderella zone, and behind the Carousell, is Castle Wall. And inside the wall is a lable Entrance Castle Wall. This castle wall zone appears to border Pinocchio Village Haus. This wall seems to travel up the side of the building, thus creating the Castle Courtyard. The one thing about the wall, though, is I am not sure how high it is, as you cannot tell by these plans, and if this wall really does separate Fantasyland into two areas, as it appears to do in the plans.

Next to the Cinderella zone, located within the courtyard, is a zone titled Belle. In this zone is a Belle attraction, a new restaurant called Be Our Guest Restaurant, and what appears to be a counter service called Gaston's Tavern.

Behind Cinderella Zone and next to Be Our Guest Restaurant is Mermaid. The ride takes up the remaining 20K space and a little of toontown it appears. Also, Ariel's meet and greet is now located there. Yes it appears that the current Mermaid Lagoon is either relocated or gone, unless I am missing something. The way it looks to me is Belle and Be Our Guest is taking over that area.

The Cinderella Carsousel looks like it is staying in the same area, but in front of the wall. Dumbo is relocated to the area I mentioned. The princesses appear to be inside the courtyard and inside enchanted forest.

Peter Pan, Small World, Philharmagic and Pinocchio Village Haus will be INSIDE the Castle Courtyard while the 4 areas dedicated to Cinderella, Belle, Aurora, and Ariel are inside the Enchanted Forest. This also includes Pooh and Snow White.

I saw the diagram you are describing a week or two ago. It looks cool, if it does indeed happen. I've read in a couple of places where at the big D23 Expo to be held next month in Anaheim that the Parks & Resorts Division will be highlighting some plans for the future, and this "could" be what will be revealed for WDW's MK. It also "could" just be another internet rumor posted by some very creative types. We'll see. When I showed the pic online to my DD and DW, they both thought it was cool... whereas both of my DS' wrinkled their noses, and basicaly went off on why everything Disney does these days has to be about princesses. We'll see...

i got my date moved!! i just said i had a vacation planned and i wasnt trying to get out of it, i would like to have another date. she gave me a choice of dates! november 2nd! ill be on walnut street in philly if anyone is looking for me.:lmao:

Are you just in the jury pool for a short time? When they notify us we are in the jury poll for 6 months and can be called at any time during that time.

No; thankfully, here it's ~usually~ just for a day (unless of course it's a long case). We have a lot of people (jurors AND criminals)! :rotfl:

Yeah, that Fed Fuzz is probably gonna' stick, ya thing?:lmao::lmao::lmao:

I have a problem with speed...it seems I can't get enough of it:rotfl2::rotfl2:

Good reason to become a State Trooper---opportunity to drive fast....regularly..

Funny Story, I left the Highway Patrol and was working for a Local Police Department (I got RIF'd from the HP) and was a Detective Sergeant when Hurricane Floyd came up the east coast (1999?)..

My parents evacuated from Charleston, and them and my Mother in Law stayed with us in upstate SC away from the coast---We stayed for Hugo in 1989 and my parents swore they WOULD NOT do that again, hard to believe it's been 20 years---so we had a BUNCH of people in our little two bedroom apartment...wife was in Grad school, yeah, we were broke:lmao::lmao:

Anyway, everyone was called into work that night because of all the traffic and evacuees. Really kind of kicked off about 1700 (5pm), I went in to work in BDU's and tac gear (I was on the SWAT Team), you know, all the cool stuff...

About 1900, I came back and ate dinner, and it was really busy for us that night, I mean B U S Y..it was crazy busy...anyhow, I asked if anyone wanted to go for a ride along, and of course, mom was the only one who wanted to go...I love my mom, but let's just say Law Enforcement was not the first choice of career for her oldest son (my parents never understood why I went to College to be a cop, but, I did)...so I loaded her up and off I went.

After few calls and stopping people to get them pointed in the right direction for evacuation, hotels, family members, churches etc, a call for back up on the other side of town comes out...and I just happened to be the only one free....so off I go...

So here I am, listening to the radio, going about 100mph on a four lane highway, with my mom in the car, when she leans over, looks at my speedometer and, I swear, looks at me and says "You better slow down before someone pulls you over and writes you a ticket.."...

Really Mom???? In a Police Car????(even though it was an unmarked Detective Car) In my own city??? By guys I work with EVERY DAY???????

I guess she didn't notice the blue lights going (they were in the Grill on the back deck), though I didn't have the siren on:lmao:

Moms will be moms I guess:goodvibes

Good reason to become a State Trooper---opportunity to drive fast....regularly..

I love following State Troopers. I once got behind one on I-90/94 in Wisconsin going from La Crosse to Madison. It's usually a 2 1/2 hour trip. He didn't have his lights or siren on, so I figured he must be going the speed limit, right? I set the cruise at about 85 and made it in under 2 hours. :thumbsup2

And since we're sharing State Trooper stories... (that elipse is for you, trennr)
It was the Sunday after Thanksgiving one year when I was in college in La Crosse. We were heading back up that same stretch of I-94. Traffic was heavy, but still moving at around 60. All of a sudden, everyone in front of me, in both lanes, slam on their brakes:scared1:. I'm in my Jeep in the left lane, so I head into the grassy median, where I pass a few other cars that tried the same thing. I get past the mess on the road and keep on going. About 30 miles later, I notice a trooper following me. No big deal, I'm not doing anything wrong. We pass an entrance ramp, and a trooper sitting on it pulls in behind the one that was following me. :confused3. This is getting bit strange. A few minutes later, at the end of a construction zone there is one more trooper waiting after the last construction barrel, and he pulls out in front of me. As soon as we clear the construction, all 3 turn on their lights and sirens. Hmmm... this interesting. I pull over, and two of them go to the front of the Jeep with flashlights out, inspecting my bumper (it was just getting dusk at the time). It seems several people had given the troopers the description of my vehicle as the one that caused the accident. Long story short, I got to fill out a police report stating that I was not in an accident that night.
I am now forever know as the man that requires 3 state troopers to pull over. :cool2:

:lmao::lmao: slow down!!:lmao: when i was growing up the guy next door was a pa state trooper. he would bring home the conf. drug cars that the state turned into unmarked cars. wow, he would take us for rides. he had this mustang, we were on a four lane hwy. (rt33 for you local guys). back than there wasnt many cars around. i was in the front seat, the last i looked over, we were at 120!! the poor guy passed away when he was 50. he had cancer in the groin area. they blamed it on the old hand held radar guns when they would set them in there laps. he also got pulled over in ny state going fishing one year. oh , he was mad!!!! the young trooper wouldnt let him off!!! ny state trooper stout i believe was his name was, we all had to listen to him all weekend rantin and ravin!! all the way home we kids were telling him to watch his speed! that helped!

Sign me up! I need the support. I'm 35, DW35, DD 7, DD 5 - Heck, even their cat is a girl.

Welcome to our support group! Sounds like you're fitting right in so far! You are member # 341!

My qualifications are below. My DW turned me into a dis fanatic in '02. I've been reluctant to join the dis boards since I never saw a spot for us guys to hang out, now that I'm a dad it looks like I found my spot! :goodvibes

My DIS Dad's qualifications:
Became a dad for the first time 5 weeks ago! :woohoo:
1. Your passion for Disney equals that of a 7 year old kid.
2. You have a wife that thinks you are a big kid.
12. You have friends and family that do not understand why you vacation in WDW every year (or at least talk about doing it).
19. You drink your coffee from one of your multiple Disney mugs.
44. You don't want to fix the musty smell in your damp basement because it reminds you of the Pirates of the Caribbean cave.
49. You only feel fulfilled when you know you have another trip on the horizon.
56. You can recite the entire script from the Haunted Mansion.
89. The cake topper on your wedding cake was Mickey & Minnie.
102. You only know one phrase in spanish-"please stand clear of the doors..."
108. You have so many Disney shirts you have to decide which ones to take and which ones to leave home when you leave for vacation.
111. You have a Mickey lamp on your desk.
116. When you bought a new mini-van...instead of kicking the tires and looking under the hood...you checked out all the stow-n-go features and was planning on where to put our luggage for your next trip to WDW. (I see this one in my future...just bought a corolla for the family and my first concern was if our stroller and luggage would fit!)

I know what you mean. We really are outnumbered on this board! Glad you found us! You are member # 342!

I'm 60 years old and match your criteria to a tee, sign me up.

Signed up and made a member! You are member # 343!

My wife told to join a support group so here I am... not sure if this is what she had it mind since it probably goes in the wrong direction, but hey one step at time - sign me up!!

Father of two and just discovered Disney about five years ago - very cool and can't believe I have been missing this. Hope my kids appreciate as much as I do.

HAHA! Yeah... this group doesn't really do much to PREVENT the spread of the Disney obsession! :rotfl: You are member # 344!

Add me to the club..
I'm even in charge of the shirt designs, custom autograph books, and I'm the official stand in prince when my girls do their little princess plays at home for mom..

That needs to be added to the list of qualifications! You are member # 345!

Sign me up too.

I've read through a bunch of the qualifications but never saw...

You have your favorite princess (Belle), it's also my son's favorite, and it's not the same as your daughter's (Ariel).

To all the new dads....

:welcome: WELCOME TO THE DIS DAD'S CLUB! :welcome:

You have been added to the DIS Dad's Club list :thumbsup2

Hey dads! Took me a while to get caught up this time. This summer is just flying by and I've had little time to get on the boards to see what's going on. It's amazing how we are still adding dads to this club each and every week!

Here are just a few replies I wanted to respond to:

hay don, hows the next trip planning going? any news? i didnt read much into it but i see free dining is going into december!

Unfortunately, the wallet is not permitting a fall/winter trip this year. It's good to know that DW would be willing if funds were available! Anyone want to contribute? :rolleyes1 :rotfl:

*runs in*
12 days! 12 days!

*cheer*

You should be almost on your way by now, right?!? Have a blast!

Not sure if this is new or old news...but for you Toy Story Fans...

Fried, Tie-dyed, and Places Mickey Hides!!!

I'll be checking this out later today. You might get done with yours before I finish my own! :sad2:

Up to this point, I have really enjoyed listening to the DIS Unplugged podcast, but it seems to me that the negativity and nitpicking has become almost the entire show now - it's almost like they have become so jaded that they can't see the forest for the trees anymore. I just don't get it...

The 8/5 show was definitely negative. Some people on the podcast board seem to get excited when Pete rants, but it gets a bit draining if you ask me. I do like the fact that they will point out the flaws in Disney. (Unlike some other Disney podcasts I've tried to listen to, which elevate everything Disney does to god-like status.)
Most of us on this board live quite a distance away from Central Florida, and if we're lucky, can afford to go only a couple of times a year at the most. Every time we go, we see and experience the magic. Perhaps living that close, they're taking those things for granted and becoming used to it - jaded, as you say. It's hard to keep things exciting and new when you're surrounded by it 24/7.
I'd like to believe they are nit-picky and negative because of their love of Disney. If they see something that they believe to be "un-Disney-like", they'll call the company out on it.

I'd like to add another perspective on this. I'm not up to the 8/5 podcast yet, still in July catching up, so not sure what is being referred to here.

But I and many other Australian disney fans I know, spend a fair bit of time on these and other boards based in both Florida and Anaheim. The overuse of negative comments and criticism of the parks (both WDW and DLR) tends to bother us as well.

Obviously our trips are not regular, and in alot of cases, not even annually. We tend to go every 2 or 3 years, so when we get there we like to immerse ourselves and really enjoy it as much as we can. We do notice the issues, things like poor maintenance and expensive prices and other things that do go wrong, but we don't dwell on it. When we read and hear these comments from the regulars, we do tend to get frustrated.

I understand that Disney need to hear this feedback to ensure continual improvement for the guests' experience, and these boards are an ideal place to provide that feedback, but like anything else in life, moderation is the key. We don't always expect glowing mindless praise, but we also don't want to continually hear the bagging either.

It's pleasing and refreshing to every now and then see and hear about people really appreciating the ready access to something that we crave daily but experience rarely.

:upsidedow

I thought I was the only one who felt this way. From the rant about the release of D23... then Disney cruise lines... and now we have to hear suggestions to boycott the dining plan? Glad I'm not alone in my thinking there are other ways to express your dismay.

Ok, dads..

Time for me to live vicariously through you guys for another 4 months...

We'll be headed to DW when I return from Iraq in December (thank God before Christmas and before my son's two year birthday)..

How do you get over the feeling that you're missing everything at home while you're sitting in the desert?? Well, you don't...I make my wife take lots of pictures and take lots of video....first month is always the hardest to get through...

You guys enjoy your trips, and I'll see ya in January (after I catch my breath at home just a bit:rolleyes1)

I also want to thank you for your continued service to our country. I never had to tough it out in the desert, but it's never easy to be away for months on end. It's so awesome how we have all this technology now so you can still experience a little tiny bit of what's going on in the world.

Hey Dads!

It's been a while since I've posted anything. Kind of took a break from the DIS for a while in general. But now that school is getting back into gear, the house will settle down a bit as we get back into the normal groove of school & after-school activities - I'll have some more time to be online too. I hope you've all had a good summer - we sure did. But I will admit that while I've enjoyed being off the computer hanging out with my kids a lot the past couple of months, I've also missed chatting with some of my online buddies as well... I need to go back and read through the last several pages from where I last popped in for a read to catch up.

I couldn't have said this any better myself. Glad to see you stopped by to catch up :thumbsup2
