OK, as I said I am starting small and doing the baths first.
The downstairs bath was pretty easy. Went through the medicine cabinet, not much in there, and all ok. Nothing to throw away. The drawers, I threw out magazines (we all have them, right?) and one of those 'toilet wands' that needs replacements. I had gotten it in the mail, and never used it. Out it goes! I organized under the sink. Nothing here needed to be tossed out, either. Only cleaners, TP, Kleenex, Little Swimmers, and Beach Towels. Just straightened it out. Cleaned the bathroom including the tops of the pictures and the lights.
On to the kids bath. Nothing in the drawers here, except the bath toy drawer. Everything is good. Under the sink I found a leaking bottle of baby oil, the basin they gave me when dd was born to give her baths, the scrubber from the hospital to use with basin, a metal shower caddy that doesn't fit anywhere here, and lots of cleaners, shampoos, lotions, etc. I threw away the basin, caddy, and baby oil. I kept the scrubber (I will throw it...just give me time...she's only 2...next week). I realized I had 4 (count em) toilet bowl cleaner bottles in here. 2 of them were almost gone, so I squirted the last of one in the two toilets upstairs. The other bad thing in this bathroom is that there is a bunch of 'yellow' near the toilet (yuk) but I can never get it clean. Plus it is kind of far from the toilet, so I wasn't sure it was pee. Wouldn't pee come out of linoleum? Anyway, I did the same good cleaning as I had downstairs, then soaked some rags in bleach and laid them on the 'yellow.' So far it seems to be working, but I am moving them around to get all around the toilet. There is also a ring on the floor where the plunger used to sit, that doesn't seem to be coming out at all.
Anyway, then I went on to our bath. I grabbed a big garbage and emptied the cupboard under the sink. I threw stuff away like a mad woman. A big bottle of Paul Mitchell hairspray (a refill bottle) that had been moving around with me for 7 years, lotions that had separated and STUNK, bubble bath that no longer smelled good...the list is long and the crap is plentiful. I went threw my makeup bag and threw out the old makeup that I no longer wanted. I probably should have thrown out more, since I know that eyeshadow only lasts like 6 months, but I made a good dent. I put all of the keeper makeup in a drawer that I had emptied along with some lotions that I am going to try to use. Seriously, I think if I tried to add up all the Bath and Body stuff I threw away I would have enough money for a night at Jellyrolls

. The garbage bag was full and heavy, and although it was wasteful, I feel great about getting rid of this baggage!! Of course I cleaned our bath as well.
Now, I wanted to add that I am going to put some things on a list after I do each room. Example: the kids bathroom paint really needs a touch up. There are some splotches on the ceiling, stuff like that. The same will go for the toy room. It needs a bit of paint. But I am going to write that stuff on a list so I can get to it at some point, not when I am home alone with dd.
Not sure what I will do next. The bathroom floors need to be done (after the bleach rags are removed) but the ONLY thing that bothers me from surgery is bending over, so I am not sure I will be the one to do it.
Happy Cleansing!
