DH: 41 - As above x 100

Friend Joanne, Joanne's DH, FIL and 4 lovely DS's aged 9, 8, 5 and 2.
It was very overcast today but extremely humid. We arrived at the park around 9.30. As we drove up to the entrance we could see that every booth had cars lined up to get in so we knew it was going to be a busy one. We headed for the Great Movie Ride first. Joannes FIL loved this especially the bit with John Wayne as he is a big country and western movie fan. Next we headed for Muppet 3D but Joannes DS (5) didnt want to do it as he was frightened (he had already freaked out in the Great Movie Ride at the part with the witch in the Wizard of Oz) . We tried to reassure him that he would enjoy it but bless him he still didnt want to. We therefore decided to do it in two groups. DH, Joannes DH and her two oldest DSs went first while we waited in Pizza Planet and had a cold drink. They were back in around 25 minutes then Joanne, her FIL and I went on. We then came across the biggest thrill of the holiday for Joanne's DS's - The Power Rangers. They are absolutely Power Ranger mad and were so excited to see them. They were lucky enough to be able to queue up and have their picture taken with most of them.
It was now lunchtime so we decided to find somewhere for lunch. We tried the Sci Fi Diner but they were completely booked until 9pm that evening! We ended up in the ABC commissionary for burgers and chips, not very exciting but fine when you're hungry. Just the fact that we were somewhere cool was enough.
Next we did the backlot tour which is one of my favourite things in MGM, I love It when the water comes tumbling down the canyon. By the time we got out Lights Motors Action was about to start so we headed towards there. When we arrived at the entrance to LMA the people were absolutely pouring in but were lucky enough to get a decent seat. However just as the show started the heavens opened, not to bad at first but it gradually got worse and worse and about 5 minutes in to the show they abandoned it
. We were all so disappointed as we as we had enjoyed the start so much but we decided to come back another day. In the hoards of people leaving the stadium we got separated but eventually met up under the BIG HAT.
We were all a bit damp so decided to call it a day and come back another day. Even though we hadnt done very much it was now 3.30 Joanne hadnt seen our villa yet and so we headed there. I dont think I have mentioned in my previous reports that Joanne was less than impressed with her villa. It was only when she saw ours that I realised how much. Immediately when she walked in the door she was amazed at how airy and bright it was and inevitably compared it to hers (Joanne had booked her villa through the travel company where I had booked mine privately through a guy at work who is a villa owner). She told me about all the things that were wrong with hers and I was really shocked. I had noticed that it was quite a dark villa and the pool did look a funny colour but I hadnt examined it that closely to be honest with you. Apparently there were wires hanging from the wall, plug sockets with their surround falling of, the carpet in the living room was saturated as the air conditioner was leaking, there was a hinge broken on the door to the pool surround which mean it was swinging back and forth, not good when you have four kiddies running round. After discussion between us Joanne and her DH decided to sleep on it and perhaps go to the management company first thing in the morning. Joanne is a lot like me in that we dont like complaining when we are not happy with service in a restaurant etc, so for her to be adamant that she wanted to complain is really quite something. We had pencilled in Universal for tomorrow but you know what they say about the best laid plans
