Hello, I am new and trying to figure out where to saty on our Feb trip. Can anybody tell me the differance between the HIFS and the HI maingate East hotels? They both have the kids suites which I like and maingate is cheaper but I dont want to get stuck in a place Im going to regret. This is our first trip so I want to do the best I can in planning. These boards are great too!! Thanks to all!

I haven't stayed at Holiday Inn Maingate, but I have stayed at HIFS three times.

If you look at HI maingate's website the picture shows their kidsuite. It is basically a themed area inside of the regular room.

Then go to http://www.hifamilysuites.com/kidsuites.html and you will see that HIFS has 3 distinct rooms within each suite.

It's a completely different set-up.

IMO, if you can afford the extra, stay at HIFS. You can get great discount rates from them by using the entertainment card.

We have stayed at both. Definately go to HIFS. The rooms are nicer. The zero depth entry pool is super. There is shuffleboard, miniputt. The night time activities were much better...kareoke, bingo, magic shows, face painting. The breakfast buffet saves us at least $20-$25/day. There is a little food court that kids eat free at (A&W, Pizza Hut and an ice cream place) It is also much closer to the parks...you can see the tips of illuminations at Epcot from the back of the hotel. Very close to downtown disney. I guess the only downfall is that there is nothing i.e. restaurants or shopping within walking distance. We love it and are going back this Feb. Any questions, feel free to ask.

To Taylor,

When you say you can get great rates using the entertainment card, do you mean the Entertainment Book or does the hotel have some sort of entertainment card?
