The Diana Special...

Very errie hearing her voice after she's been gone for so long. NOthing new though.

I only caught bits and pieces, reading to DS B4 bed....Did she say Charles brought 8 novels along on their Honeymoon? And Camilla was at the wedding? My face on Tea towels or not, I would have walked...easier said than done I guess. I hope they re-air it, yes, it is strange hearing her voice again.

I feel sorry for her sons having to hear some of the stuff she was saying. :( Even Harry hearing that his dad said "oh great it's a boy and he even has red hair!" Cause he wanted a girl. Talk about rejection! The whole thing is so sad. Feel sorry for the sad life she had to live.

<font color=navy>I agree with scrappinMickey - I felt so bad for her sons. That is so sad that she would say that so that someday they would hear it.

Mary Jo - you are so right. I have never been a Diana fan - in fact you might be surprised how many English people weren't. To say something like that, on tape, is unforgivable in my eyes. It was always bound to be aired. Things like that never stay private.

As far as I am concerned, the constant press and media coverage of her when she was alive was a pain. It seems we still can't escape it.

I'll now sit back and wait for the flamethrowers to get busy!!

How sad she was throughtout her life with Charles. And how brave to put on her Princess face in public. I'll leave my comments and opinion of Prince Charles off this board.

I have to admit to having less sympathy for Diana after hearing the show.

Peggy

I agree with FinFan. It's a shame she didn't have the courage to say this is not for me and take a walk. She tried too hard to do what was expected of her rather than stand up for herself. Not being of royalty, I don't think any of us as women can understand the preassures that must have been brought to bear to make this marriage happen. All I can say is it;s a good thing no Prince is looking for me. I know I'd more than he could handle. This lady takes no you know what from any man. Just ask DH.

I had it on, but turned it off after 5 minutes. The whole thing just creeped me out.

My ex was just as bad as hers. My children will NEVER know. He''s a good father. That's all that counts now.

Well, its easy for you to hide what your ex did since you do not have press people haunting, and hunting your every move and dozens of people within your circle ready to sell you out and reveal details to the tabloids. If Diana had kept quiet about her husband's faults, her sons would have found out anyway. If not from her, from then another royal, from the newspapers, or some other way, etc.

You can only hide stuff from kids for so long...things have a way of blowing up in your face later....its best to come clean and be open.

I have to admit to having less sympathy for Diana after hearing the show.

Why?

If you have any solutions for someone who has experienced infidelity, an unsupportive family, bulemia, depression, exhaustion, and a total lack of privacy all at the same time- I'd like to hear them.

I still love her and nothing last night changed my mind in the least.

It is sad though that this author is still trying to stay in the spot light where Princess Diana is concerned. Everything she said last night was in his book. So it's nothing new except that he's probably making another bundle on her.

Part 2 will be aired one week from last night.

I missed it. I was singing.

I think, part of the problem was that she was only 20 when she married him. And, it was pretty much an arraigned marriage as the Queen told him to get married and she was a prime candidate. I don't think it would've been easy for any of us to get out of that marriage if it were us.

I am a huge Diana fan and have been since I first saw her. I think she was beautiful but caught between a rock and a hard place. I know she had her problems but don't we all. There are things I could tell you about my ex-husband that would make your hair curl. Did I ever tell you about the time he made me dig up my dead cat? I digress...

I believe everyone should just let her rest in peace. The woman is dead for pete's sake (7 years this year). I just want to remember her as I do and let her go.

I'm sorry, but unless you have children of your own, I think you should let me decide what's best for mine.

And you know what else? It wasn't and hasn't been easy to hide. People are the most unbelievable nosiest people and it gets found out.

My children may find out one day, but they will have many years of love and adoration from their father to lean on.

Boy you have some guts giving child rearing advice.
