Has anybody eaten at the table service for this place? I've never been, and to be honest forgot it was even there. My daughter reminded me they are doing table service dinner until july 1st. i've never eaten there at all so I'm not sure if it's worth the time or money to give it a whirl before it changes back to whatever it normally is.

1) Ah, the Diamond Horseshoe !
2) We used to love that place.
. . . cute "Western" floor show with dancing, singing and jokes
. . . audience participation on and off stage
. . . snacks, sandwiches and soft drinks
. . . nicely air conditioned, very nicely air conditioned, on a hot day
3) The labor costs became too much for WDW budget constraints.
. . . dancers, comics, other performers
. . . lighting and stage hands
. . . musicians
. . . waitresses, hostesses, bartendenders (for soft drinks)
4) They shut it down with little fanfare.
. . . Del Monte stopped its sponsorship, and it closed in 2003
. . . then, it became Goofy's Country Dancin' Jamboree, and closed in 2004
5) Now, it is an overflow eatery for LTT, but only in "busy" seasons.
. . . busy seasons are usually Thanksgiving, Christmas, Spring Break
. . . counter service and sandwiches for lunch
. . . family-style all-you-can-eat for dinner (same items as at LTT)
. . . recommended ADR's for either
. . . it uses the same kitchen as LTT, but the food seems FAR worse
. . . in most cases, not worth the effort
. . . during Halloween it is a "dance party" and Trick-or-Treat
. . . I would not tell people to avoid it totally, ut the food and service don't warrant a visit.
7) WHAT A PITY to kill off such a nice attraction !!!!

hmm, one of the disunplugged podcasts made it sound like they only open it on the slow season.. Could it be different quality now vs crowded overflow time? Overall the menu didn't strike me as make sure you eat here but it looked great in pictures and I've never been in it.

Every review I have read about this place is bad. Bad service, bad food. Just bad.
I would avoid it. If you want good BBQ, leave the parks and go over to the campground to Trails End for all you can eat BBQ. You won't be disappointed there.

I got an adr and had lunch here on july 3rd...

it was actually pretty good, reminded me like a mini version of whispering canyon without the yelling... It really hit the spot for july 4th weekend as it was bbq in MK and all you can eat so it really filled us up and added to the holiday with a good we weren't going to make ourselves seection... they also take tables in wonderland.

I had an adr but they seemed surprised and everyone else was a walk up.. Give it a whirl, it's only 1 selection of food that everyone gets but it's all you can eat.. a little heavy but a nice change in food options at magic kingdom from what we normally find and the a/c is wonderful in there, if anything we were too cold.

Bumping this - anyone else having good experiences because I'm reading all bad on Trip advisor? I have an adr for Aug 24 and we are typically a fan of family style but don't want to be wasting our money with a family of 5.

I'll let someone else chime in but keep in mind this place is not normally table service and usually party space / MK is crowded we need more places to serve food so watch the dates... It's similar in taste/quality to what you'll find at whispering canyon for their unlimited bbq menu item. If you like that, you'll enjoy this.
