I would just like to state that I am a little disapointed to see the Debate Board go as well. I read quite a number of enlightening and interesting posts there in the past. I will say it has gotten a little crazy lately. I fully understand that it is up to the owners of the forum to make a determination as to it's content, but I think the debate board could have survived with stern warnings and swift permant bans to people who had been warned and chose not to listen and adhere to board policy.

I would think that this may cause more work here on the CB board what with cleaning up and sifting through debate style posts, but again the decision isn't mine.

I agree SGT I had never recieved a warning or anything on the DB so I am guessing I was within the guidelines for the board but now posting here I get a warning and I have said nothing near to what I would post over on the DB. So I guess there will be alot of us getting the old heave ho in due time.

Nikole, that's why you were such a beloved DB moderator. You always stuck up for us.

I don't understand the constant disparaging remarks about people who post on the DB. We're not supposed to post negative things about other people who post here, but it's always been acceptable if it's about those people who post on the DB. There's a constant implication that only inherently mean and nasty people would even want to be on that board. I don't understand being worried about being flamed on the CB if the DB people start posting here. We post here all the time.

No one would argue that there's every right to close the DB--absolutely no hard feelings over that. It's just ironic for people to jump up and down and sing "Ding Dong the Witch is Dead" and talk about how rude and mean everyone is on the DB.

Well I am glad it has gone... the trouble is at least I knew where NOT to go....I tried to get involved in a few debates with educated responses and was basically called stupid!! SO I left....never to return!

I will have to work out how to use the " ignore" button now as there are a few posters whose threads I do not want to read.

Maybe the militants will go elsewhere.....oh pixie dust please !

I think Alex has made the right decision - to many personal attacks were being made in the last few months. many of you don't know they left some members very upset and infact lead to a member asking for their sponsorship back.

I've come away with no hard feelings ( even though i bore the brunt of the attacks )

I hope in some way my posts made some people take their rose coloured glasses off. And i personally have come away thinking i've learned some new things.
