We stayed 11 days Poly GVC last Christmas (2004). Couldn't have enjoyed it more. In fact, my dsil keeps saying when they return, it won't feel like Disney without Chef Dick..... :sunny: :sunny:

What floor were you on? You were happy with the concierge staff?
Thanks!

Unfortunately, passes for WDW and DL are totally separate.

That's what thought but it was worth a try, I would ove to take the kids to DL and that would have given me a reason to persuade DH with.

I'm ready to go to WDW in Feb, he wan't to ski, now if I had some AP passes I could convince him but nothing.

I know how that goes. Our first trip to WDW with our first 3 DS's was 3 years ago. The last 3 years, our only vacation was visiting family in Ia. which I pointed out isn't really a vacation, especially when we stay with the inlaws. ;) So this year we disappointed everyone and went to DL, we decided every 2 years they can come and visit us if they want to see us. :duck: Not a popular decision. Oh well, at least every 2 years I get to plan a "real vacation" with which our size a family, it would be hard to afford one every year anyways. :confused3
:wizard: Feel better. Maybe DH will come around.

:goodvibes Thanks! I guess I'm just in a post-Disney funk

Amy - so nice to hear from you again. I'm so glad that no one was hurt! I'd definitely say that cleaning is out of the question. Gotta believe in those "signs", right? how are you feeling lately? I know you said you weren't feeling up to par, so I've been wondering how you were doing. All of my pregnancies were nausea fests. With my first I was so sick all the time I lost 40 pounds before the doctor put me on Phenergan. That stuff got me through all 4 of my pregnancies. I have a great doctor that says in this day and age there's no reason for a woman to have to go through morning sickness. She also doesn't believe a woman should go over her due date. Sweet!
Wow, I went past my due date with my last 3. The last one we were trying "creative" ideas we found on the internet to get labor started.

Deb -- I'm so happy to hear that your dad is doing great. I've heard vit. E oil works great on scars, and hope you find something that will help with Colby's scar.

Libby -- sending PD and prayers to you and your son! I know it will go well.

Kristine -- congrats on the darling step-grandson. You are definitely a young, hip, grandmother. I'm so glad Kirsten's day went well at school.

Sounds great...but I don't sew..beyond the ocassional button that is..I guess I should have paid attention in my Jr. High learn to sew class :teeth:
My Jr High teacher gave up trying to teach me and just sewed the project for me. :rotfl2: This was after I ripped out and resewed the same seam 5 times wrong. :rotfl: I guess sewing is just not a talent I was blessed with. :confused3

Denise -- LOVE your new signature!

Kate -- love your new designs!

Oh, how I wish our AP's could have worked at DL! If Disney could come up with an "all inclusive" pass, I'd bet they'd get even more business, right?!

Actually, we did get a cool perk by booking a AAA package at a Disneyland resort hotel, though. You get an "unlimited" fast pass feature with your PH passes - i.e., you can hold a FP for every FP attraction at once! We found we'd go by in the morning, and FP everything we wanted to do at both parks (and ride some of them along the way). Then, later in the day when the lines were long, we could go back and ride using FP - it was great. I'd give my eye teeth if you could get a pass like that in WDW!

Lindsay -- I'm so glad you had a great week! I was thinking about you during the game, and reflecting how we felt when we were at the game last year, and all of the back and forth scoring. My stomach was in knots! Even though I talk about my DH and how he paces during the game, I was yelling just as loudly at the TV screen! I'm so glad you got to experience it in person.

We, too, are sad but not surprised that Vince is leaving. If you haven't already seen it, be sure to get a copy of the special Sports Illustrated devoted to UT.
HOOK'EM!!!

I need advice:

Julia has lost her voice - she seems fine otherwise - she tells me it hurts to talk

her breathing is fine and her energy level seems normal

she is on antibiotics and has been for 6 days now - would you send her to school?

the lost voice seems to be the only problem -

I know it seems ridiculous to ask you all what you think - she hasn't been to school in over a week but I can't bear the thought of sending her back and getting sick again!!

how do you make the decision that your child is ready to go back to school?

OK, I promise that I did read every post, but was using the computer in the bedroom with no paper nearby so I didn't take notes. I know that several people needed pixie dust :wizard: :wizard: and there were a few congrats. I saw some wonderful new designs too.

For all of you that were there for me during the Train Incident with my Dad, he had a CT Scan yesterday and everything is back to normal. He has been medically cleared.

Colby's face has healed, but he is left with a 3/4 " scar on his left cheek, actually between the cheek and mouth kind of following the laugh/smile line. Hopefully that will get better over time.

It looks like we are climbing out of the illnesses that we've had lately too.

Thank you all for your support during these difficult times. I really cannot find words to express how much you all helped me.

Deb

It was so exciting! I had no idea how I would react to actually being there, since I paced, screamed myself silly, and then sobbed when we won last year's Rose Bowl all in the comfort of my own house! :rotfl:

I think I was in a bit of shock being there this year - but everyone was so excited - what a feeling!! Maybe (just maybe) we'll be able to make another run next year, and we can both go to Scottsdale!

ETA: Oh, and we bought that SI special issue at Love Field when we got off the plane! :rotfl2: Also, I just got an e-mail from the Texas Exes that there will be a special bound commemorative edition of Horns Illustrated that they are pre-selling at a discount to life members. Check your e-mail if you're members!

Just checking in while I had a free moment. Things have been going crazy here the last few days.
When it rains it pours. DD was playing the other day in her room and fell and busted her mouth on the corner of her dresser drawer. This left a big gash in her gums which resulted in a lot of blood. Ugh! So off the to ER where the doctor there said they couldn't do anything for her and that I had to then take her to the dentist for x-rays. The dentist took the x-rays and said that she didn't fracture her tooth, but that her tooth could turn brown or gray. He said the mouth heals quickly and that by the time her adult teeth come in all should be o.k.
My brother and his wife are traveling with us to Disney World and I booked and took care of all the paperwork for them. They received their final travel documents last Tuesday. I called our TA and she said that ours were mailed out the same day. Now, why is it that the bills, magazines, junk-mail and other garbage comes with no problem, but the one piece of mail that I have been anxiously waiting for, gets lost somehow. TA is looking into it, so I am hoping all work out there.
Received 25 t-shirts in the mail, which I ordered from blankshirtstore.com and got all that I ordered with a slight problem. I had ordered xs shirts for my dd but they sent youth small instead. I guess she will have some nightshirts to wear while we are there too. Not too big a problem Wal-mart had some 100% cotton ones so I substitued those for them.
Still haven't received my dark transer paper that I ordered off of E-Bay yet either. I placed the order and paid for the item right away on Jan 1st. I am hoping that it will come in anyday.
I am glad that I started planning early... otherwise I would really be freaking out right now.
Sending smiles and PD your way that all is well in the DDA
:) :wizard: :) :wizard:
I'm so sorry to hear that. :wizard: I hope she feels better soon. And I hope your plans start to fall into place.

Kristine

We were ground floor. The ducks would walk up to us while we sat with our drinks and just people watched. (Or I waited for the family to get ready. Most definetly not commando that trip!!)

The concierge staff was the best. I wrote an eight page email back to Disney when I returned from that trip. It was so speical in so many ways, I had so many CMs to thank. It was amazing... :) :)

Total judgement call...being that she has been on antibiotics six days, she wouldn't be contagious, or shouldn't be particularly vulnerable...I send mine back once they start playing or arguing with one another (a sure sign of good health around here) but if it was me I'd probably keep her home....since it's a new symptom. What's one more day at this point....

Hope she feels better... :flower: Run the humidifier

I am hoping for a ground floor as well. I am so glad to hear some positive reports on the poly. Also want to do a less commando approach this trip...for me it will be tough...I like to be on the go.

She in kindergarden right? If so, I'd keep her home one more day. :goodvibes :goodvibes

There are so many germs at school.

And if she's lost her voice, she won't feel like herself either.....

Hugs to you......

1. she has been on medicine for 6 days
2. she has norman energy
3. breathing is fine
4. no sore throat

I would let her go to school, but let the teacher know
