I'm finally all caught up!

I've had a busy but very productive day. By 8:00am this morning I had a check from State Farm for my car . Christopher had swim practice this morning then I had my carpets cleaned at home. The smell is about to knock me out! After the carpet cleaning I spent 3 hours at Walmart buying groceries and a few other things we need. I'm taking it easy until Brian gets home then we have to put all of the beds back together, furniture back, etc.

We'll be painting and finishing up Christopher's room and the nursery this weekend so y'all don't be too chatty!

Hi everyone--
HAPPY FRIDAY! i am finally all caught up and hopefully can start posting a lot again. I dont have any plans this weekend and i am thrilled--cant wait to just relax!

i start more summer classes wednesday night so i figure i might as well relax now! i Just got my grades for 2 of the 3 classes i took already--both As!!! im so glad the sciences are done!!

Rees' PM got the cutest little keychain from Glynis and an adorable tie dye shirt from Theresa. I sure hope it's Theresa. If not, I apologize. John threw the packaging and note away before I got home. He said it mentioned "girls" on the note. Rees loves it all! PM is styling at our house now.

Ok, I'm absolutely furious. I just got a call from Katrina. There is a "slight" problem she says. Grandma doesn't have a seat on the plane and she might not be able to come home tonight. I'm furious with the airline. It would not let me book the seat numbers when I made the reservations or before they left. They told mom & the kids not to worry about seat assignments when they checked in to fly to Japan. They just told my mom to be optimistic that 3 people don't show up for the flight. OPTIMISTIC!! I'll give you optimistic! I realize that Becky isn't exactly young but mom is still flying with a minor. Becky & mom were booked on one reservation and Katrina was booked on another. How Becky got a seat I don't know! I'm also upset with mom and the kids. I told them to make sure that they were given seat assignments before they left the states. I told them that I was concerned this might happen. Did they listen to me? That would be NO!

Now mind you, the girls & mom are fine with the turn of events. Katrina's boyfriend is picking her up at the airport anyway so Becky can just stay with Katrina for the night. Mom can fly in tomorrow, pick Becky up and then they can drive to Engadine. They are all wondering why they called me because it just upset me. Well, DUH! The airline had better pay for mom's room for the night and some meals. The airline had also better give my mother a free ticket or something for her trouble. No matter what they do, they will be hearing from me!

I can feel my blood pressure rising. Can I find a phone number to call? Of course not!!!!!

Sorry to hear this. I would be upset too. I hope you can find the number for the airline.

Thanks for listening to my vents tonight. I'm sure most of you know that I totally overreacted and you'd be right. As I've told you before, I'm a worrier. I have gotten much better over the years in handling it. However, after dealing with worrying about what is wrong with Chuck and whether they will be able to help him and having the girls in a strange country for two weeks, I've been worried about their flight home for some reason. I was on pins & needles. I won't actually relax until mom & Becky are in Engadine but I'm a little calmer now. Once again, thanks for listening!

I've decided to reread Harry Potter & the Half-Blood Prince. For some reason, that appeals to me (maybe because the girls and I share a love of Harry Potter).

It's OK having kids out of the country and than all these health issues would surely strain even a non-worrier.

I had a long week - the news about the RNR really upset me this week! It really hit home -

All three of my family have landed safely in the U.P. I think the airline needs to improve their booking. When the girls were boarding, the guy in front of them got an error when they scanned his ticket. It said duplicate seat of Thomas, C. The girls started laughing and said that was their grandma. So the flight attendant talked with them about it. It seems that mom did have a seat number but someone else had the same number. They got it all worked out and it sounds like everyone that wanted to fly were able to. But I have a question: how does this happen in the world of computers? I mean I would think they should know that there is a bug in the program that allows them to double book the same seat and they could fix it. After all, I'm a programmer and this is kind of a red flag that there is a problem!

Now, Chuck & I aren't talking. I'd like to slap him. As soon as the girls call, he says "I knew they'd all make it!" Hello! He knows how upset I've been. I know that I've overreacted and I've been trying to calm myself down even before they called. I told him that I was trying to let it go. Then he goes and says something dumb like that and wonders why I'm upset with him. Men!!!!!!!

I think I'm going for ice cream!

First..... good to hear they are all home.

I think the airlines over book in the event someone doesn't show.

We had to leave last night because the smell from the carpet cleaning was so overpowering. We're so far behind and planned to have both Christopher's room and the nursery painted by tomorrow night. We also wanted to have everything put back together in both rooms (that we had to move out for the carpet cleaning).
