How awful of a DIL would I be, if I sold the Norman Rockwell plate collection on eBay that my MIL gave me for my birthday?

These are Christmas plates that she has collected for years. I don't display them and they don't have any special meaning to me.
She had given me some plates years ago that she had gotten from Chuck as he was growing up. I held on to them for years for sentimental reasons for him. Then I found out Chuck hated those plates. It reminded him of his dad yelling at him when he hadn't gotten anything for his mothers birthday or mothers day or whatever. His dad would then go out and buy a plate and make Chuck give it to his mom. Needless to say, those plates are long gone. I'm not hanging on to something that gives him bad memories!
I've kept some stuff for the girls hope chest. When his parents moved out of the family home and into the lake house, she gave us lots of neat stuff. I put some of it away for the girls at the time. My mother bought each of the girls a china set at an auction one year so they have that set aside for them. We have Chuck's mom's china set and silver that I'll be able to hand down some day.
ETA: Hmmmm. I wonder if there are plates dated the years the girls were born. That would be neat to hang onto for their hope chests.
