Thanks for the update, Dawn! I'm so glad that Kevin's trial is wrapping up.

BTW, did you ever get a purple Ramone for Christopher? I noticed that our McD had a new bin full this morning and can check on the way home if you still need it. I know they had it previously as that's where I got Terra's.
Yes! I'd still love to have one. I found a different style that's purple, but Christopher said it didn't match the others

So as a long time fan of POTC, what do you think of them adding the new characters to the attraction. There seem to be a lot of people upset about them ruining an already great attraction. I love POTC. It is probably one of my top 3 attractions. However, Walt was about innovation as well as traditions. I like the idea of maintaining the integrity of the attraction but adding some new characters. JMHO.

pirate: I can't give a real opinion until I see it. But at first I was ..... OH HE*&%(% NO!!!! Then I read more and the other night I saw some of it on the net and was thinking, they did keep the great old ride and just added a little to it. SO if they have kept it true to it's self, then I am ok with it. Everything needs updates at some time, BUT not MAJOR changes that makes the ride so different from before, that you don't know that you are even on the same ride. As long as the basics are still there then it's all good for me. pirate:

Minnie & I are outside on my deck working on her wedding info. It is a gorgeous day here today. I'm really bummed that we won't be camping this week-end. We will be going to mom's on Sunday and staying until Tuesday.

Becky & Pal Mickey are heading there from the airport tonight since my sister and her family will be there tomorrow night. Becky wants to spend as much time with her little cousins as possible. Brandon is 8 and Taylor is 5. I'm considering surprising them at the airport tonight but don't want to upset Becky's plans. She can get easily upset sometimes when her plans are thrown off. If I show up, then she'll start rethinking her decision about going straight to Grandma's and wonder if she should come home instead to see Dad. I kind of expected her to ask me to come pick her up when I talked to her last but she is still gung-ho about going to Grandma's so I really hate to upset her. So I probably won't go meet the plane.

Anyone here near Denver? My good friend (her DD is our babysitter that is in college) just called and her 21 yr old DS, Doug, is in the ICU in Swedish Hospital in Denver. He had an embolic stroke last night! Doug and Lindsay (our babysitter) are camp counselors at a large Christian camp in Colorado for the summer. Their dad is at the Atlanta airport right now trying to get a flight out. Please pray for them. I'm really concerned and worried.

How awful. He is in my prayers! Prayers that dad can get a flight out quickly as well. :grouphug: to their family and yours.

Well my Mom & girls are winging their way home! They got on their flight at 4am CST. They are supposed to arrive in Chicago at 4pm CST. They'll be back in the UP at 7:30 CST.

They got to ride the subway yesterday before they left. Also, got to spend time in downtown Tokyo. They both thought it was really cool.
:wizard: for a safe trip home!

Glynis you asked for this awhile ago.

Amazing German Chocolate Cake
Recipe from:
Chocolate from the Cake Mix Doctor
by Anne Byrn
Cookbook Heaven at Recipelink.com

Serves: 16
Baking Time: 48 To 52 Minutes
Preparation Time: 8 Minutes

· Vegetable oil spray for misting the pan

· Flour for dusting the pan

· 1 package (18.25 ounces) plain German chocolate cake mix

· 1 container (15 ounces) coconut pecan frosting

· 1 cup water

· 1/3 cup vegetable oil

· 3 large eggs

1. Place a rack in the center of the oven and preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Lightly mist a 12-cup Bundt pan with vegetable oil spray, then dust with flour. Shake out the excess flour. Set the pan aside.

2. Place the cake mix, frosting, water, oil, and eggs in a large mixing bowl. Blend with an electric mixer on low speed for 1 minute. Stop the machine and scrape down the sides of the bowl with a rubber spatula. Increase the mixer speed to medium and beat 2 minutes more, scraping the sides down again if needed. The batter should look thick and well combined. Pour the batter into the prepared pan, smoothing it out with the rubber spatula. Place the pan in the oven.

3. Bake the cake until it springs back when lightly pressed with your finger, 48 to 52 minutes. Remove the pan from the oven and place it on a wire rack to cool for 20 minutes. Run a long, sharp knife around the edge of the cake and invert it onto a rack to cool completely, 20 minutes more.

4. Slide the cake onto a serving platter and slice.

** Store this cake, wrapped in plastic wrap or aluminum foil, or in a cake saver or under a glass dome, at room temperature for up to 1 week. Or freeze it, wrapped in foil, for up to 6 months. Thaw the cake overnight in the refrigerator before serving.

I'll stop by on the way home then and see what they have. They have been great about digging out the ones I needed so hopefully they have it!

I was also really worried until I saw the video clip on the net with Johnny Depp  going through the ride. There were still so many familiar sites that I'm hoping that it is just additions as they kept saying in the promotional stuff I read. My first reaction was "Why would you try to fix something that isn't broken?" but then after reading the promotional stuff I decided I'd give it a chance.

Yea, that what's I was thinking...Except i will stick to white shirts..I think with the squares design you have to cut out each square if it's going on a colored shirt.(I think?)

Anyone know if there is a goth or punk Mickey clip art design out there?
I know, I know...but if thats what it takes to get my 10 year old in a mickey shirt then I'll do it.
I made Christopher's square design very last minute so I didn't have time to cut all of the squares out, but I used the dark transfer paper and I think it came out OK. Here are pics.

I thought I made those the same size so not sure why they're different...

Yes ma'am I am about 5 miles from Swedish. Is that where they are going to be treating him or are they contemplating moving him?

Prayers being said!!!

He's there now in the ICU. Lindsay is the only one with him, and they are scared to death. I don't know when his Dad is arriving.

Hi, everyone! I'm finally back, but I'm behind about 200 pages!!!!! I'm trying to catch up, but if there's something that is important for me to know, please PM me!

I missed you all so much, and didn't have an opportunity to check email while I was gone! Bummer for me. I hope things are well for everyone here!
Welcome Home!!!

With Glynis back we can bring this up again. I would like to make this a final vote for the DL meet in 2007. Here is what I have so far. The three majority month started as Feb, Mar and Sept. The lat time I asked this is what people answered as far as picking between Feb, Mar and Sep.
So please think about it and if you'd like to add your name, that would be great.
As soon as it looks like we have a month (I think we already have one, but I have to ask again anyway) the we will start the palnning process and ROE and SOE. (do you know what ROE and SOE stands for?) Any and all guesses are welcome.

OMG. Two young adults alone dealing with something like that. How awful.
