Morning all. Haven't had tome to read. We leave in the am for a week and there isn't any Internet in the house we're renting. So have a great week! Sending hugs, PD, Get well vibes, and congrats to all.
:sunny: Have fun.

All right....I think I may live in a backward state!!
It was announced today that in CO it is legal to be in a common law marriage(ie you say you are married...viola you are!!) at the age of 12 for girls and 14 for boys. This I guess is English common law. It all has to do with an earlier court case of a 14 year old girl and then 34 year old man...they legally got married a year later (with mom's consent!!).
What the heck does a 34 YO man see in a 14 YO girl? :confused3

Thank you for your opinion on the service tomorrow. As of now I think I will go to the reception but not the service it’s self. I think at the reception I will be able to talk with the family and that might give meaning to them.

I just can’t handle a childs service; I am crying just typing this. I know I should go, but I just can’t, so I will go to the reception. Again all of this is as of now, who knows what tomorrow brings.

I may pop in and out the rest of the night depending on who and when people come over.

Well, we're packed and just finishing up some laundry. My brother just called and he doesn't know if my SIL is coming or not. She is really having a horrible time with her Dad's suicide and is very depressed, having panic attacks, and has lost 26 pounds (she weighs less than 100 pounds now). He said the marriage is in trouble unless things turn around. So I'm praying they can work on it together and both come to the beach. Please send PD that it's a good week. He's coming regardless, but BK is in LOVE with her Aunt and will really miss her company (me too).
:grouphug: I'm sure she has a long road ahead of her to accept and go on. The best thing he can do is keep loving her and being there for her. :wizard: I pray that she'll be able to get help and patience and strength for your brother.

Okay, it's 2:00 in the morning.

I think the game plan for the weekend will be Saturday go see Dad so I can avoid having to interact with my siblings on Sunday. :rolleyes1

Sunday, I'll go see my son and his wife and take them to dinner. They wouldn't let me come down last week while they were getting ready for her to go to Hong Kong. Now they want Saturday for her to get over her jet lag... and a lot of turtle time...

Unless I get bad news on July 3rd, I think I'm going to cancel my trip in September and save those points for the trip in May. I know it is such a long way off, but I wanted my youngest grandson to at least be 1 before Disney. This way he'll be about 16 months. Should be walking. I think it will be fun for him...

Plus, I already have all of my ADRS made for December and I'm looking forward to the CP and MVMCP and the decorations and the Osborne Lights. I know my sister will love it then.  :santa:

My question is, where should we stay in May??? Should I get a 1 bedroom for them (10th anniverary) and a 2 bedroom for the rest of the family? I'm beginning to think a GV at OKW will not be doable. Should we stay at SSR so they can go to Pleasure Island? They liked PI when we went last time... :confused3

Should I try to book at BCV or BWV for access to EPCOT?? Should I book 2 villas at OKW because they are so large and also less points??? Should I book WLV for boat access to MK?? They loved WL the last time we went...

Oh decisions, decisions. I know I could ask over at the DVC boards, but some of the people over there are just mean. :snooty: :snooty: :snooty: I have never seen a board with such outright nasty posters. Even with asbestos pettycoats on I would be toast... :firefight :firefight :firefight

So I'll ask here where I'm among friends. :goodvibes :goodvibes

Yes, and there lies the problem. He doesn't have anything else to do. He probably would start dressing me up if I let him! I know that he is scared and I try to talk to him about it but he doesn't want to. I wish that I could help him. Thanks for letting me vent here so that I don't vent to him. I'm trying to be there for him as much as I can.
:grouphug: Feel free to vent here so you can be strong for him.

You must have eaten your spinach today! :rotfl:

Picking up the house must be a regionalism. I am from western Pennsylvania originally and that is a common term there. However, for some reason I think the roots of the saying go back to the Pennsylvania Dutch.

June -- I am so excited that you are taking the train to the DC meet! Last summer the girls and I took the trian from Union staiton to Penn Station for a weekend in New York City and the train trip was one of the highlights of the whole trip!

We looked at doing it that way again this year but the fares were astronomical! Maybe they will come down.... yeah, right!

This particular train trip isn't really long, but should be fun. We leave Poughkeepsie at 1:01 p.m. and arrive in Washington around 6:30 (and this includes a stop of around 35 minutes to change trains). I found a code online that brought the price to $265.20 round trip for BOTH of us. I figured it would have cost me at least $150 to drive down (gas, tolls, parking), plus wear and tear on my car and my nerves, so it will be worth it. We have to make the 8-9 hour drive to VA Beach in August, so it's good to know we don't have to make one to Washington.

OK... followup post. Which code did you find? The one on the Amtrak site, H620?

Common Law marriages don't exist over here - well not legally anyway. You don't get any of the legal rights (next of kin etc) as a legally married couple.

I think you have to be 16 here to get married without parental consent...

:rotfl: Some of those are obviously too ridiculous to ever happen! But are you really not allowed to breast feed in public??

Ohio has some stupid laws on the books:

this email goes around every once in a while;

Ohio Crazy Law

Owners of tigers must notify authorities within one hour if the tiger escapes.
It is illegal to fish for whales on Sunday. - cause Ohio has such a huge whale population? :confused3

It is illegal for stores to sell corn flakes on Sunday.

Clare -- your fuzzy milestone math just puts you right up in the ranks with Kate, so don't worry about it! Those numbers just start to blur after a while, don't they? ;) By the way, I'm going to pick your brain about digital scrapping at some point. My huge project for the day was organizing all my scrapping stuff. And the whole time, I was just thinking 'I finally got my scrapbook room (or half a room, but who's counting?) and I think I'm going to go digital'. But then I saw all the cute stuff I have.... and I'm just not sure. So I'll be asking a few questions, if you don't mind :goodvibes I also have to ask about your signature. Everyone mentioned the "you" in your new signature, but I think you've changed it again. Was it the "you" that is now in your avatar?

::yes:: That is the "me" in my avatar :goodvibes

Cool for you that you got a scrapping room - I can't do the real life scrapping stuff as it just looks a mess when I try... and I love the fact that with digital you have the UNDO command!

I just completed my first book for a gift for my MIL - I need to shrink the pics so I can show you guys as I think they turned out good.

I've only just started out myself but I found a few good digiscrapping sites - just ask away with any questions :goodvibes

-- Ok, so this would have been much more pertinent had I posted it before we left, but I'll still share. Remember a few weeks ago when you were educating us on the use of "dodgy"? Well the very next night we watched Love Actually, and I had completely forgotten -- but they use it constantly! Congrats on passing grades for your assignments!

:thumbsup2 See if we hadn't met through the DDA you would have watched that film and not had a clue what they were talking about! Now y'all can appreciate english films much better :rotfl:

It may not be important to some, but it's good news for me!
I found this company to ship fridges to the values at Disney (www.abbf.com) and it's 1/2 the price of Disneys fridges. (Score #1!) I found out today that they are adding coffee makers to their list as well! (Score #2!) I don't have to walk a mile from the 90's building to get my morning java anymore!! So long it's not one of those 4 cup coffee makers it'll be perfect (and still cheaper than me upgrading to a moderate!)

How odd! I never thought you could rent that kind of stuff. We have to have a fridge on vacation so I can get soya milk from the store and actually eat breakfast - plus it's quicker to eat breakfast in the room than go for counter/table service. So we always pick our hotel based on whether it has a fridge and whether you have to pay for it.

I started reading Kingdom Keepers during Becky's dentist appointment today. It seems to be really good. As they are describing different scenes at WDW, I stop to think about where that is. At one point, they talk about the Goofy statue and I think it is the one that June has her picture with. I thought that was cool. The book has my full attention when I'm reading anyway. I've had problems finding something that can keep my mind fully occupied. I think that I'll read Peter & the Starcatchers afterwards because the author of Kingdom Keepers is a coauthor.
 My copy arrived from amazon yesterda - I spent last night finishing the book I was reading so I can start on Kingdom Keepers  I also got the Epcot imagineers book which should keep me occupied in the car today - we're driving up for my cousin's wedding.

ok last post in my p3 I promise...

Can't remember who said this - but I agree - that when we all descend on a thread it must be obvious we all know each other... we should all get our photo taken in the same place on a trip to the world - I like June's Goofy... and then put the same photo in our sigs :rotfl: (all you Landers could pick a landmark too) :rotfl:

Good Morning.

Another new day. :) Hoping things are well for everyone and if not. :wizard: :grouphug: :wizard: :grouphug:
