so much for
catching up this morning.
Off again. In the event I can't get back on again today. PD and prayers for all who need them.

Off again.
The site we used is quoting at $227 - but that includes comp insurance which I assume you wouldn't need... That's a 4 door full size with Alamo at the car care centre.bethbuchall said:Does anyone here know what a decent price for a car rental in Orlando (for August) is? I am looking primarily at using National or Alamo, because I want to be able to easily drop the car off mid-stay. National and Alamo can be dropped at the Dolphin or the WDW Car Care Center. I have found a full-size (we can't go any smaller) for $196.21/week. Does that sound reasonable?
Thanks!

Deb -- since you are sewing today ... Can swim suits be taken in successfully? Anything I should know about working with this kind of fabric? I bought a new suit at the beginning of May knowing I would need a smaller suit, but it now appears I need an even smaller suit. It is not an option to go buy another one at this point as they are VERY expensive and this one has only been worn twice.
UP Disney said:I thank you all for the pixie dust. Becky passed her drivers license and is now a licensed State of Michigan driver. Of course, it wasn't as smooth sailing as it could have been. I asked her the other day about her Level 1 Learner's Permit and her Level 2 Certificate of Completion. She tells me both are in her purse. Now mind you, if Becky has to hang onto something important, she is very responsible and can be trusted to have it.
So, 2 hours before her test, we are going to leave and do some more practicing in a parking lot in town. Before we leave the house, I ask to see the documents. Guess what! She doesn't have her learners permit - she has her level 1 certificate of completion. Heaven forbid! We end up at the Secretary of State to get proof that she has had her learners permit for more than 6 months. Of course, we are talking the secretary of state shortly after the lunch hour. The wait is 45 minutes to an hour. So much for practice time. She gets herself all worked up and screws up the parking test and ends up crying. She passed it but just barely according to the tester. She then did her road test and passed. Thank goodness that is all over. I'm going upstairs to have a drink!!!!!

I know the kids are going to flip when they see all those larger than life icons. I think we'll rent a car to have as well for going to and from the parks. Oh, and it saved us $1600, and we're getting 2 rooms vs one. John will love that!
So any tips or advice for ASMo? Guess I'm going to be doing some research.

, I was going to use them for you all today. Did one of you tell my DH to take them away?yellowfish78 said:Question for everyone! I have clients down at Disney right now. They left on Sunday and yesterday morning they spent the day at Animal Kingdom. Apparently 3 of them (out of 5) have something along the lines of food poisioning; it would seem odd that all three of them would come down the the SAME symptoms at the same time to have a stomach virus.
She's talked to a CM at one of the Baby Care Centers and they informed the Animal Kingdom resturant and filed a claim; I'm assuming Disney takes the info to see if anyone else got sick as well. She's wondering what kind of comps Disney can do for her, given that the family has missed almost 2 days in the park.
I mentioned to her that once everyone starts feeling better, maybe head down to Guest Services and see if they might be able to comp her 2 days in the parks, help her get more dining reservations if she want's them, and go from there. The person she talked to when she filed a claim said she should get something in the mail from Disney in the future...but she's concerned that this "once in a lifetime" trip isn't going to happen for a while and "what can Disney do for me once I'm home"...
Does anyone have any suggestions? I'm honestly at a loss for this and how to help her. They leave on Sunday morning.

I was walking home from a very lovely Art Show/Ice Cream Social at the elementary school. Thank goodness my kids weren't with me. This man that I know only a little (though he has become the Scout Master for our Cub Scout pack and is an assistant leader in Miles' den), started screaming horrible things to his older (perhaps 4th grade) son. Something happened between him and the younger son (1st grade), and the 1st grader was bleeding on his face. I didn't see what happened, but I got the sense that it was accidental, not malicious. I just couldn't believe the words that this man was screaming at his son. The mother was doing nothing. I am very embarrassed to say that I also did nothing, though I came home sobbing (and I'm getting teary as I write this). Dh said that I was right to stay out of it, but I just can't help feeling for that little boy. I can't believe this is a one time thing. You don't flip out in public like that. He was truly awful. I can't even write the things he was saying, absolute obscenities and things that must have made that child feel like an absolute nothing. Even if the older one did something on purpose, the man's behavior was totally uncalled for.
Miles will no longer be allowed to be anywhere near that man, but what should I have done for the son? The boys don't know me at all, nor does the mother. I feel like I let a helpless child down completely. And I'm in tears again...
