Thanks. I'll try. I'm not the camping type, but with our trailer, it makes it bearable! I've checked out several books I've been wanting to read, so that should help. Alan can take the kids fishing as much as he wants, and I'll read as much as I want.

Have a wonderfully, relaxing time!!!!!

this is a drive by posting - I have to head to the festival!

I am scheduled for surgery on September 1 - I could have done it the week we got back from DC but decided it would be better to wait until the kids are in school - I will be on crutches and not able to drive for 2 weeks but he told me that I would be doing great at 4 weeks!! He also took an x-ray of both of my knees - and guess what...

both knees have the same problem and he thinks that odds are once my one knee is fixed - I will realize how much the other one bothers me as well - I have some arthritis starting in the knees so it is good that I am getting it taken care of now - and he said I will be shocked to find out how my knees should feel when I walk!!

and the x-ray tech is a Disney Fan too!! So of course, I directed her our way - I hope she stops in and says hi! Her name is Tammy!!!

At least the end is in sight! I am sure you'll feel great after the surgery. I'm sure that it is hard to wait a few more months, but the timing sounds good for your recovery. Hope the festival was a success!!

Julie -- Good to hear from you. And I am delighted that you had such a relaxing time at my second most favorite vacation spot in the whole world... the Outer Banks. We are headed there on July 2 for a week of fun and relaxation. Plop me on the balcony looking at the water for 7 days and I am one happy person. Feels almost as good as sitting in Epcot watching people and boats and listening to Off Kilter!

Here's a brief synopsis of my last two days:

Yesterday at my doctor's appointment I found out I'm one cm. dialated! :hyper: It looks like I'll be able to be induced a week early at this point, which means July 7th (guess I'll have to wait on seeing Pirates 2!).

Alyssa's "water babies" swim lessons start up on Monday, so my friend and I took all the kiddos to the community pool last night to re-introduce them to their surroundings. The water was pretty cold, but Alyssa didn't complain too much.

The weekend forecast doesn't look too great, so I made sure we spent some time outside today. We went back to the zoo for about three hours. I'll try to post some pictures later this weekend. I was disappointed that the new koala bears were sleeping again, but we got to see the polar bears at feeding time, so that was exciting. Alyssa also rode the carrousel three times...thank goodness we upgraded our zoo pass and got free rides this year! :)

We had another house showing tonight and our realtor also called to follow-up on some questions posed by the woman who walked through and took pictures on Wednesday night. Maybe one of these days, we'll actually hear an offer!

I think that's it. Our weekend is going to be busy with painting, moving non-furniture items, and keeping Alyssa happy. We're also having another open house on Sunday.

I hope you all have a great weekend!
Amy :)

Yeah, Matthew! Hurry up and get here so we can all meet you. Sounds like a great day at the zoo. After just an hour or so at the Central Park Zoo I really wish we had one that was easy to get to and now so expensive! Terra loved it! Chalk up another reason to get us to St. Louis and fast - great zoo and it's free! More :wizard: that you'll get an offer soon.

Good evening everyone -

I wanted to let you all know that tonight I got an email from Karen's (lovespoohbear) dad - she is in the ICU - the email is not specific just that they had to call 911 last Sunday and that she has been in ICU all week - they were hoping she would be out of the ICU today but that didn't ahppen

Please keep her in your prayers!

I hope there is an update in the pages I haven't gotten to yet, but Karen is definitely in my prayers! Thanks for posting and to Karen's dad for letting us know.

I've had a rather stressful day. When I got to work I took a peek at the newspaper as I always do. On the front page was the news that the man (dealer) that I bought I my mobile home from had crashed his SUV into a pole less than a mile from his home and was killed instantly. He was only 48, and had two young children (his daughter is just 5). I believe I mentioned the other night that after my husband died I was forced to declare bankruptcy. Well, when I fell in love with my present home, I missed out on getting a mortgage to purchase it by just a few points. I was so terribly disappointed. Scott said he had some other homes that were less money that he could show me, but I wanted this one. This wonderful man financed the home for me himself (personally, not through his dealership). I paid him back in full in 4 years, but I will never forget how wonderful he was. Without him and his generosity and faith in me I would not have my home today. Just to show how well liked and respected he was, it took over an hour just to get into the funeral parlor tonight. The line stretched half a block! Please add a prayer for Scott's family to your ever growing list.

What a wonderful man. I will definitely keep his family (and you!) in my prayers.

Chanon, Thanks for the info. With us getting 2 rooms, that credit could be over $300 in January. That would be a huge savings. When we book, I'll just switch to you in January for the extra savings. Sounds great!

Just home from the pool. We spent over 3 hours with my next-door neighbor and her 5 kids. We had a blast. The water feels so good with it over 90 degrees outside!

Glynis, hope you have a good trip. Thank you so much for the postcards. 2 have arrived so far, and I'm hoping the 3rd makes it today. I'm so sorry about your DH's uncle. My SIL is still having a really rough time dealing with her dad's suicide in March. There is so much guilt and remorse involved. You'll be in my prayers.

Tia, sounds like a fun time with your parents. How is your DH doing? I've been thinking of him.

Happy belated b'day Becky. I'm a klutz too, and I so empathize.

June, I'm sorry abouth the man who helped you so much when you really needed it. His family is in my prayers.

Kristine, congrats to your DS on the soccer team.

Julie, so good to see you posting!

Janet, I'm so jealous of Paris. How much fun.

Tammi, thinking of you today.

Amy, hope the move is going well.

Dawn, hope you're feeling good too.

Deb, sounds like Home Depot is quite the hit at your house.

Lynn, congrats on the weight loss. New morning plan sounds WAY to early for me.

Beth, WTG on your weight loss.

Vicki, how is Chuck feeling?

Robyn, tell Emma that she and BK are breaking the tooth fairy's bank!

I sure hope I didn't miss anyone. I'm going off memory on this!

Hugs to everyone else and hi!!!!!!!!

We went October 15th - 23rd last year and loved it. It was hot enough for water parks, but not hot like it is in July. The crowds were not bad and we got to do MNSSHP. I would definately go that time of year again.

Deb

Thanks Deb - October is getting lots of votes over on the UK board too... I like the idea of doing MNSSHP and the fact that there would be 11 months between the trips.

I think DH is a little worried about potential hurricanes though!

I thought they were supposed to fix this! It's driving me nuts!

That's my hesitation about October as well! I'd love to do MNSSHP though.

Okay, I have NO idea where I left off. I think it was about 100 pages ago. Since I popped up on 2501 when I logged in this morning I guess I'll start there and hope I didn't miss too much. It looks like congratulations are in order for Denise on the new job. I also see a bunch of new countdowns there so I can't wait to see what they are all about.

We had a good time with my family. It was a little too rainy for a couple of days, but luckily it didn't rain the whole time we were in NYC. While there we did the Statue of Liberty (though not inside), Ellis Island, a trolley tour, Central Park Zoo (REALLY near Polar Bears!!) and The World of Disney store. Ellis Island was really neat to see after all of the research we've done on Phil's family. His father's whole extended family immigrated from Greece through Ellis Island so it was cool to take Terra's picture in the main hall and sitting on some original benches from the time period they came through.

I hope that everyone is doing well!!

Welcome back, sounds like a nice time with your family. My DH wants to go to Ellis Island to see if he can find records of his grandfather.

I work as a Travel Agent AT AAA! :teeth:

I was thinking about joining AAA since I heard about parking passes that I can use at the different parks. If I join how many parking passes can I get. We are staying offsite and there will probably be about 5-6 cars going. Can I join AAA thru you or do I use someone locally??

Lynn
